  2. Sorry, should have been clear. The straps is what I meant. Once I told a fellow aviator that on a night flight in a Cessna I lost all power. He asked if I ran out of gas. Oops, I meant electrical power. I stopped by JoAnn's and got most of what I need and I got the strongest versions they had. Thanks.

  4. Thank you, Joseph! I have even gotten started already by replacing the lower ear screws. I very much appreciate your help with that. I’ll get around to including those pictures in the Centurion application eventually after starting on these other fixes.

  7. For the strapping? If so there are a couple of different types but I prefer the heavy duty woven, is a bit stronger and seems to last longer.

  8. Well whether or not TKs have "true" chatter, doesn't matter to me as much as the fact that during troops the background loop just really helps to fill in the time when fans are near but I really have nothing to say Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk

  12. Thanks, guys! Except for Frank. You rain cloud. See I was just gonna show up at Roddie's in armor and have him approve me on the spot... entirely kidding, of course. I'm not really worried about an approval deadline but I'd really, really like to have at least my bucket done by Sithmas. A Christmas TK just sounds so dreamy.

  14. Just the exterior, lol. I had a little too much free time on my hands a while back and wanted to go all out, so I used 3-D printed parts from files obtained from Leonardo (Ed Straeker) to do that. It's not screen accurate at all, but is based on what a TK helmet would look like if it were "real", so to speak as seen in the cutaway image (below) that it is based on. I took a bit of artistic license with it. Hint: When building your helmet, it really helps to look at some of the approved Centurion submission threads in the Advanced Tactics area to see what we are looking for, as well as common issues that need to be corrected. When in doubt, always ask before moving ahead.

  15. I did something a little different. I lined my helmet with the fuzzy side of black velcro. This way it does not get caught in my hair or balaclava, but anything I need to attach (hearing, batteries, fans) all have the hook and I can place them anywhere. Top of the helmet is plasti-dipped.

  16. Unfortunately no holsters are allowed for HWT approval, even at basic level, but you can always carry it just like you would an E-11.

  18. I was just about to do as suggested and thought to measure one more time to see how close the new hole would be. was surprised to see that the original hole might actually fit. put the snap on the hole and it actually fit. a pleasant surprise.
