Cool, can you PM me your address? Will try to drop it in the mailbox tomorrow (it'll go out Monday.)1 point

"Score and Snap" FTW. I tried cutting the molding off the edges of my new suit a slice at a time, but the edges got all jaggy, and you do NOT want that on that cut. Score and Snap does work very well: I just tried it for the first time on the next two pieces, so I'm an expert! For a cut that big and visible, I'd practice on some scrap pieces first. You'll have to draw the cut-line in pencil, and then with a steady had and a big sweeping motion, use an X-acto knife to score it—cut halfway deep—then fold along the cut. The corner edges will require careful attention.1 point

I swapped out the WTF kit for an AM one, which will fit me better. It was also cheaper and readily available, so it will arrive on Thursday1 point

Tried part of the armour on today It fits really well and it’s easy to walk in... I’ve given the rivets a second coat of paint I’m king they may need a third.... The left greave is digging in my leg a bit, is it ok to trim the return edge to the line I have drawn? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk1 point

I have been so busy with work that I have not been able to work on this Blaster. A few quick updates. I changed the battery to 2 Lithium ion 3.7 volt batteries. They are the same size as AAA. I am running them in parallel to keep the volts the same bit increase Mah. I also switched out the 2.54 wires for 1.25 micro jst 3 wire. A lot smaller and easier to handle.1 point

Very nice job on your build. If I can offer any advice, it would be to try and rotate your shoulder bells forward a little to try and close up that gap between them and your chest plate. But looking sharp trooper!1 point

If I may..then go for Centurion! It`s a rewarding feeling knowing your TK looking at its best - be all you can be Trooper - and...if you`re a perfectionist..well...then that should be an easy ride Best of luck1 point

We had the same at Paris Comic Con too. Two Executioners, one Phasma, two Pretorians, and three TFA stormtroopers. Neat statues!1 point

The easiest method is to score with a utility knife then snap. I found that starting and ending with a snip from lexan scissors helped it break clean at both ends. Search for the score and snap method.1 point

A. It doesn't. You just want to have enough surface area for the cover strip to glue to, and avoid frayed edges that may snag on your under suit. A. Whatever you're comfortable with, have more control over, etc. A. Align the lower return edge. The offset upper is normal. If it bugs you trim the excess off.1 point

Yup! The blemishes I seem to be just protective-film deep and can probably be buffed out if not. The odds and ends I can get as I get to those parts. As this is the first model kit I've put together in forty five years, I'll be happy with basic approval. But I'm a perfectionist (I do software QA for a living) so I might as well try for Centurion from the start. I'm pleased that the Anovos can be taken there … and I hope I can bring this one to life after a year and a half of waiting in his box.1 point

Hey man, congrats on receiving your first kit! I'm in the middle of a build myself so I'm definitely no expert, but my biggest piece of advice I can give you is to take your time and have fun. It gets somewhat cliche, but also measure twice and cut once. It never hurts to go to as many build threads as possible and research as much as you can before making that cut. My main take away so far is to always cut less than you think you need to take off and trim off more later if you have to. Many of the veteran troopers will tell you, and I can attest, you can't put that plastic back once it's gone. Use the galleries here for reference, and if you have questions, ask! This has been one of the most welcoming and helpful communities I've had the pleasure of being a part of in my short time here and I know everyone wants to see you succeed. Good luck man! It's an awesome journey!1 point

God idea! I have an ancient pair of Rec Specs from when I played ice hockey (goalie). When my kit arrives I'll check whether that pair fits. Unfortunately, Lenscrafters don't carry Rec Specs any more; $100 for a pair was worth it. Go to your local ice hockey equipment dealer to get fog juice. Apply it like car wax before every troop, and probably on the inside of the helmet lenses too! Oh, the old link was busted. This is a newer offering from the same site: http://www.goodglasses.com/T-Zone-Prescription-Sport-Goggle-_p_493.html1 point
