We pick one person to answer a standard set of questions. It works out great and is a nice way to get to know folks. Since trying to do this for a 200+ person detachment will take time, I'd like to invite each and every FISD member to reply to this topic. The rule - you must answer *every* question. May 25, 1977 in Chicago. It was two days after my 9th birthday. What is your favorite Star Wars movie? Star Wars (aka A New Hope) What is your least favorite Star Wars movie? The Phantom Menace What turns you on creatively, spiritually or emotionally? Helping others. Nature. Airplanes. SciFi/Fantasy. Cute ladies What turns you off? Indecisiveness, lying, stealing. And just plain rude behavior. What is your favorite curse word? F*** What Star Wars Character do you love? The stormtrooper. But if I have to pick a face character, it's Han Solo. What's not to love/admire? What Star Wars Character do you hate? Need you ask? (Jar Jar) How did you first find out about your home garrison? I already had a costume and was looking for people to hang out with, and found them online. What Costume other than your own would you like to attempt? Does it need to be SW related? What Costume would you not like to do? I think Jar Jar is the only one I'd shudder about. What would you like to hear George Lucas say when you arrive at the LucasFilm Gates? My father took me to see Star Wars opening day at the Holiday 6 Theater in Cheektowaga NY, we saw it in the theater 42 times that summer. One of my favorate memories of time with my dad. Creatively, I'd say anything challenging, like painting really really small minitures. Spiritually or Emotionally, I'd say good times with good friends. My kids, and my Fiance. I went to a local AAA baseball game in June, the local Fan Force group was there, they did an on-field lightsaber fight, and Darth Vader threw out the first pitch. I'm a good lightsaber fighter, and I've been asked to do a Darth Maul by next summer to duel in. What Costume would you not like to do? As I was too young to experience the original movies in theater (born in -76...), I managed to catch the SE versions when they were released, back in Norway. What is your favorite Star Wars movie? I'm a bit mixed here... I love them all (except Ep. 1), but the best would be Empire Strikes Back, with A New Hope on a really close second. What is your least favorite Star Wars movie? My first SW movie I saw in the theater was Episode VI: Return of the Jedi. I was 10 years old and was living in Misawa, Japan (my dad was in the US Navy and we were stationed there at the time) What is your favorite Star Wars movie? Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back, my absolute favorite of the saga. Love the story, the characters and the duel between father and son in Bespin, just like the whole film. What is your least favorite Star Wars movie? I will have to say Episode II: The Attack of the Clones, from the title of the movie (always thought just a simple "The Clone Wars" would have been better) to most of the film, definitely my least favorite. I first caught a glimpse of Star Wars when I went to DisneyLand Paris, in the Star Tours attraction. A good start to be honest cos of the animatronic robots! After that, I watched them on the television in the 80ies with my family. I never got any of the spoilers like Luke, I´m your father, so we were all very surprised to hear that in Empire. My dad´s seen em all in the cinemas on their release in the Netherlands, but thankfully he kept his mouth shut on any spoilers . The actual theatre SW was when the special edition was released, and I went to Empire then. What is your favorite Star Wars movie? Empire Strikes Back, it adds so much depth to the series. ANH builds the characters, ESB builds the tension and ROTJ gives you closure. Though I loooooved the Ewok movies, even spent time with pen and paper trying to translate the ewok language as a kid hehe. What is your least favorite Star Wars movie? Well... I have to say Attack of the Clones... Hayden plays a very frustrated High School Musical Anakin. It's not really his acting but his lines suck. Watched it last time... Anakin comes of rather psychotic somehow. First time he meets Padme in ages and the first thing he does is tell her he's been dreaming about her EVERY NIGHT SINCE HE LEFT. I mean, when you're 10... Do you really remember all the people you had a crush on at that age? As in: you're an adolescent and dream about them EVERY NIGHT?! It just psyches me out, and is one scene where I left the TV screaming and went off to go play Disgaea 3 instead . What turns you on creatively, spiritually or emotionally? The small things in life. Seriously! I can get excited on the littlest of details at times... Guess having a near-death experience helps in that regard . And my girlfriend in all three aspects. What turns you off? I was 6 and barely remember the experience, except for those awesome stormtroopers... What is your favorite Star Wars movie? Star Wars (aka ANH) as seen on 1978 (without CGI characters and modern "extras".) What is your least favorite Star Wars movie? The Phantom Menace. (George, what were you thinking?! ) What turns you on creatively, spiritually or emotionally? My son, music, fantasy, literature, painting... I'm a creative kind of guy. What turns you off? Mediocrity, carelessness, uncivilized rude people, excuses. What is your favorite curse word? Gilipollas! (that would be like "a**hole" in English) What Star Wars Character do you love? Stormtroopers, of course. And Han Solo. What Star Wars Character do you hate? Jar Jar (and Gungans in general,) Ewoks and Sy Snootles. How did you first find out about your home garrison? I've known about the 501st for years. Through the 501st site. What Costume other than your own would you like to attempt? Boba Fett, C3PO or RA-7 (the protocol droid from the Death Star.) Saw it in theaters for the first time during the 1997 rerelease. However, I did catch the movie on tape when I was about 5 or so, been hooked ever since. What is your favorite Star Wars movie? Not sure, I pretty much love them all, at the moment it's a toss up between ANH and ROTS What is your least favorite Star Wars movie? Again, I love them all, least favorite at the moment would be between ROTJ and TPM What turns you on creatively, spiritually or emotionally? My wife, my family, my friends What turns you off? Liars, can't stand people who lie What is your favorite curse word? F*** it's just so useful What Star Wars Character do you love? Of course, I love the troopers, but main characters would be Obi-Wan or Anakin What Star Wars Character do you hate? The Podracers, they were just weird How did you first find out about your home garrison? Some online searches, but met the troopers in person at a con in 2007 What Costume other than your own would you like to attempt? One of these days I'll start working on that Clone Wars Obi-Wan I've been talking about for months, and get an EIB trooper suit made up. What Costume would you not like to do? As a toddler with my Mum, apparently I stood on my chair the entire movie and wouldn't shut up! What is your favorite Star Wars movie? Return of the Jedi What is your least favorite Star Wars movie? Personal development, my wife and unborn child, striving to be a better person, learning to let go of material objects - parting with 2 original Jedi helmets, which was one of my lifetime ambitions. What turns you off? Rude behaviour, people taking props and this hobby way too seriously, the downturn in society. What is your favorite curse word? C**t What Star Wars Character do you love? (I first saw ANH it on VHS when I was around 10 years old.) Then I got to see the first screening at the cinema of TPM in 1999 with my parents. What is your favorite Star Wars movie? ANH What is your least favorite Star Wars movie? Attack of the Clones. (Bad dialogue, I've always disliked it..) What turns you on creatively, spiritually or emotionally? Seeing a good movie which is both technological and artistically superior to others. What turns you off? Rude people, selfish people and people who try to take advantage of me. I don't feel hate to any characters, but I must admit I wouldn't mind if Jar Jar had gotten a smaller role in TPM. How did you first find out about your home garrison?
