Anyone have a TK pumpkin template? I'm carving pumplins tomorrow with the kids, and wanted to do a TK pumplin. Thx!!

I agree, I have a Michael Meyers costume that's spot on. I'm 6"2'...6"4' in lifter boots, and I'm pretty stocky. My house is a corner lot, so I just wander back and forth on my property, just looking scarry. Parents love it, kids get a good scare. I love this time of year!!

As a single Parent myself for a long time, I know how much time it takes to do it right. Good luck with everything, you've been a great help to many, many troopers.

I'm 6'2" and I had to trim mine in the back. just a small u shape. didn't have to trim the tops at all.

also, unless you have rather thin biceps, the left piece is a little snug. Also don't forget that the upper bicep is under your shoulder bell, so it's not very visible at all. A return edge on the upper bicep might do nothing more than add to the 'armor kisses' you get when trooping. Butt plate looks great!!

I just don't think it's that hard to do a tad bit of research and reading. I had all the information I needed, and was pointed in the right direction within days of joining. This is a community after all, and I don't think that showing a little desire to be a part of the community is bad. This isn't TK- Walmart, it's an online hobby community. I just don't think it's as difficult as you're making it out to be guys. EDIT:: Also, Don't forget that this board exists as a Detachment of the 501st. There are 501st guidelines, and rules that the site adheres to per the 501st Charter. Don't lose sight of that fact as well.

Mabye the 'hoops' are there to see who's really interested in joining the 501st, of becoming part of something, not just looking for a halloween costume. Most people that are here, are here because they really love SW, and the TK especially. Perhaps the small amout of effort that is needed to find out who does what separates those people from the afore mentioned Halloween costumers. Just my thoughts. I don't know of any 'elitists' here. I've only been here a few months, and everyone's been awesome to me, and any other new people I've seen.

I had brought up a similar topic, taking a piece and modifying it to fit better. I was referring to personal use, not for sale. I have thought of learning how to make armor, and I thought it would be a fun hobbie to get into. Problem is I don't have the artistic skill to make an armor mold from scratch. I'd be good at modifying a mold but I don't think I could make a set from scratch. Since I don't think that copying someone else's work is right, I'd never make copies, even if I was going to refine them, and rework them. I think this discussion has merrit,but I don't think that copying others work is a very honorable way to do things, and IMHO goes agains the moral fiber of the 501st in general.

it's taking a stance on armorers. promoting one over the other. As a 501st detachment, I don't think we're allowed to do that. I could be wrong though.

Do not use Citidel paints. They are a water based acrylic, and will not bond to the wihte enamel of your lid, or to the plastic if it's ABS. It will run, and not dry very good. Also chips off easily. (I know from experience) get some Testers, or Humbrol.

Kevin, my advice, and you'll hear it a million times is to take your time, go slow. I'd trim your lid a little below the red line, test it out with the brow trim, see how it looks, and if your not happy take a tiny bit more off. rinse and repeate. Remember there's a few different stunt looks, so find what works for you, and do what you feel is right. We're all here for ya, and will offer any suggestions we can, but your own taste will dictate how your armor comes out. Good luck on your build, and if you need any advice, we're all right here
