  5. I lost friends when I was in the Army, it is always a hard thing, and my heart goes out to Staff Sergeant Olaf Schmid's family and friends. Foxnews story : http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,571297...test=latestnews
  6. not only that, but Rubies armor is not 501st acceptable, look around, save some $ and go with a REAL armor maker.
  7. they returned it to Mary, that's all I know. She was in DC saying she didn't know where it was going to go. BTW another pic, This is of me and Sara Haines, she's another co-host ----------
  8. Mary said that NBC returned the suit to LFL. She said she didn't know what to do with it. I offered my address and to pay shipping
  9. They're called Rare Earth Magnets. I don't know if Walmart sells e-6000. I found it at Joann's. hope this helps.
  10. It was great to meet you in person Chris, I'll remember yesterday forever. screen cap of the line of us. I believe I'm on the far left, but don't quote me. not the best quality, sorry ---------
  11. It was not a RoTJ suit, it was a promotional TK suit LFL had made a long time ago. Mary said they stopped using them, because they ar not very good looking (rubies looks better) and they have us :-) She said that we do a better job on our armor, and are better stormtroopers than they can get, so they use us. Seems like a fair deal to me
  12. here's a slide show of the event, There was a life sized X-Wing in the middle of Rockafeller Center!!!!! Also, the blaster Al has, and the Lightsaber Matt has are the ORIGINAL props from 1977. THe Padme dress was the real Padme dress from the movies!!! What an amazing time!! ---------- Also, for anyone that watches the whole show, I'm the stormtrooper behind the mirror in the Make Over segment!!
  13. Gas and tolls from Buffalo to NYC and back..... $107.00..... --------- Parking in NYC over night....$55.00......... ---------- Having your 2nd troop be a live LFL event on National TV... (I'm on the left)....... -------- Priceless.................... Thank you to the Empire City Garrison for making yesterday the most fun I've ever had.... Sorry We didn't tell you guys in the states to tape it, we were under strict orders to keep it hush hush.
  14. I have one ordered.... My current one is rubber windshield wiper hose. (looks great, but is really uncomfortable) It's good for a few photos, and whatnot, but really unpleasant for long wear.
  15. Directly from the CLR requirements : * Shoulder straps. These must be securely mounted in front and may free float in back. They may be affixed with rivets, Velcro, or adhesive. from EIB requirements : * No visible rivets on shoulder straps
  16. another good idea shot for you. Looks more like you too. cool boots here too http://stylebubble.typepad.com/style_bubbl...k-in-space.html
  17. and how long after that for EIB?!? was it more that 24 hours!?!?! hee hee
  18. So I tried to figure out a way to attach my shoulder covers and allow them to still move around a little bit, but still be attached. What I did was to attach them with Velcro to the front, BUT I used e-6000 glue between the two pieces of velcro. This makes it a perminant attachment, however between the flex in the e-6000, and the velcro, there's still a good amount of movement in the straps, allowing for some movement, but still being firmly attached. Just thought I'd share, as I thought it was a good idea. The backs are free floating. I used a pair of white elastic hair ties I got from the Dollar Tree. Glued them to the inside of the back plate, and slid the straps under. They look really nice, and similar to the elastic tie downs used on screen. Cheers... TK-3914 out.
  19. Depends on the Garrison. I applied for Membership on a Thurdsay, was approved, and added to the 501st rolls on Friday. EIB Saturday that's how I roll...
