  1. Looks like you are in good hands. I recognized the back of one head there, one Charlie "Dutch" Masella. He was an Everglades Squad member and is a great friend that moved to Hawaii a few months back, we sure do miss him (and his wife), both great people. Good luck on your build, don't think it will be long before you are trooping in it.
  2. I would agree, I think the pic is great as it has a laugh at both ends. I have taken to laughing at myself when squad mates ask a small question and it takes me 5 minutes to answer them, or when I watch any of the classic trilogy anymore, that it's just not the same, since I notice all the TK problems lol. On the Merc side though, I am not a huge fan. I have no problem with customizing your own thing but as I quoted, most I have seen just go the cheapest route possible. I have probably seen four custom mandos that I thought were amazing and could have easily been in any film, because those people really put some time and effort in the suit. Saw quite a few at CV that were definitely not in that category.
  3. This is really cool to see, just got done marching at Star Wars Weekends, four weekends in a row! We often have these discussions when we are in line and see the Disney TK's heading up to the gate, pre-march. The suits definitely have that ROTJ look over all, not much I can say that has not been said but it would be awesome to see some changes made where they can be.
  4. Exactly the same thing I do, flexible for going around the corners and looks awesome when finished.
  5. Yeah like they said, you just gotta look. I wrote down about 10 combos I wanted and then searched and by the fourth one, I found it and was good to go!
  6. What is the quality like on these? I use some cheap flight gloves that look like that but I want to get some better quality ones, they stain my hands black after hot troops where my hands sweat and I am getting tired of it lol.
  7. I have one of Dutchy's T21's and he used some solid foam tubing that he glued into circles, it prefer it over the tubing stuff and the way he did it was pretty cool, using a bike innertube below them.
  8. Lookin good man, like to see it all finished up for sure, i'll have to keep watching this thread. I so would love to get some of those AM thighs and shins to replace my FX ones but he won't sell the parts, sadly.
  9. Well here I am now, 232lbs and 5'11". I have tried many times to get to a goal weight of 185-190 but always unsuccessful, at least since highschool anyway. I always seem to hit a wall around 200 and then have either gotten lazy or had something in my life keep me off track. I actually weigh a few pounds more than my initial 501st acceptance and I can definitely tell the difference in armor. IF I could ever get down, I would love to get some accurate armor but we'll see about that lol. Goal Weight: 185-190 Plans for losing weight: I eat healthy but I eat too much at individual sittings and only twice a day on average, I know both of these things are bad. I need to get back to eating five to six very small meals a day, like I did the last time, which was very successful. I don't drink soda or eat fast food (on rare occasion)but I do like some cold beer, I usually eat a meat, fish or chicken and vegetable and or/salad. I need to get back to cycling but my bike needs work. I was riding five miles every morning before and walking two miles every other night. I started back on my two mile walk tonight (will be every night), gotta get my butt going a bit since Star Wars Weekends is less than three weeks away lol. I also know that sleep plays a big role as well and my sleeping habits are terrible as you can see by the time of this post, I am often up very late. Something else I need to work on. I think this is a great idea and hopefully will get me motivated again, I really hate the way I look in armor, especially next to a squad mate in his accurate armor who weighs about 160ish. His side plates are touching and I have these huge plastic fillers, such a difference.
  10. Reading through here this was my first thought as well, go VERY SLOW. Hitting the rivets with high speed will cause them to heat fast and melt the plastic even faster lol. Drill works the best, you just gotta take your time is all. Good luck.
  11. Wow what a great turnaround for such a terrible story, this community never ceases to amaze me!
  12. Agreed, I love my Trooper1 pauldron, it looks and feels the part for sure. I have received compliments on it from other troopers as well, who notice the difference. Worth the money if you want the proper look IMO.
  13. I used clear automotive RTV silicone. It holds the lenses in like glue but if you ever need to remove them, silicone peels right off with no effort. Been this way for many months and has worked great!
  14. Haha I have to agree with this, you just get used to it and after a while, you might even begin to like it lol!!!
  15. Yeah you need the retro style ones, I tried using the newer style (kept them from Avatar a few weeks back) and it does not work. Now where are those old ones lol?
  16. I too will recommend the E6000, I tried different things first but wish I had just listened to the masses when they told me to get it lol. It works great and is a slow cure so you have time to adjust if needed, cleans up amazingly well and when dried, stays rubbery. It's worth holding off to get the right stuff and build her up right, believe me!!! Good luck!!
  17. Do you run fans? No (not yet) Which Hovi do you use? Stompers Hovi's Regular Hovi Mic Tips? Yes Hovi with the mini speakers built in? No Is your Brow and neck trim accurate? Yes I currently only have three buckets, one CAP, one F/X and some fiberglass one that is of unknown origin (to me anyway), the latter two just sit on my bookshelf.
  18. Currently running a Maker of Things resin E-11. It has served me well thus far so I voted accordingly. I will say that when it comes time to replace it, the Hyperfirm will be my only choice, after seeing a squad mates up close and handling it, there's no other way to go.
  19. Under Armor heat gear, two piece. In South Florida, this is has been a very good setup so far.
  20. Yeah that is why I open my bin, remove all the soft stuff for washing and allow the armor to air out as soon as I get home from any troop, here in South Florida stuff will mildew fast if you don't. Good luck man, a good hot wash with laundry detergent should take care of your soft parts and hopefully any stains left behind from it.
  21. A pic would really help us out. I also use FX with Caboots size 11 and now TK boots size 12 and have not ever had that issue.
  22. Agreed, glued mine in the front and velcro'd in the back. I used industrial velcro in the back, so they stay tight but can be adjusted or moved if need be.
  23. Family fist brother everybody will understand. Thanks for all that you have done man!!
