  1. http://www.beadpeddler.com/e6000.jpg------------ You can get this stuff in most places. Joanns, Michaels, Home Depot & Lowes. As Panda says, works great, its flexible, strong hold.
  2. Interesting. Here I was thinking I was the only "Raider" trooper. haha
  3. April fools!!! ?????
  4. IDW. Those look like those aren't screws and actually "buttons". The buttons for snaps. And if its a AM/FX kit then thats what they are. I had to use those too when I put together my first FX kit. If the button ends are long enough to go through the ab detail plate AND the ab plate, I would use glue to hold them on the inside. HOt glue or E6000.
  5. LOL. Yes, It's LITERALLY right under his nose.
  6. I completed my ATA a few months ago. My main concern about painting was getting the helmet looking right. I picked up some polishing cloths from a hobby store. These are high grit clothes ranging from 3200 all the way up to 8000. These are awesome! Basically start with a low grit and work towards the higher grits. Finish off with some rubbing compound. I never knew I could spray paint a finish this smooth and glossy. Read this post-------- Also check out this website--------- I went with HIPS because it was the less expensive and readily available but if I could I'd get an ABS kit.
  7. I have return edges on pretty much all the pieces of my ATA set. There is a picture on FISD somewhere of someone who DID NOT leave ANY return edges . . . I did not look right at all. I say leave some edge.
  8. Our Garrison leader said he did laser tag in his scout armor once and ran around a corner in the course and scarred the "crap" out of a teenager. The teenager wet himself. :bikerscout:
  9. I had mine for two months now (second owner). The smell goes away. Then again they been left in the garage for a week now. Just brought them back into my closet. Not enough to bother me.
  10. Try this linkSWR150 S Shaped Rubber window seal
  11. Yes. i got the whole kit. I haven't trooped in it yet. Not till next month at Wondercon
  12. I say give em a shot. Paint em white and try to get that stitching on the sole black.
  13. Congrats! Wow, That's like 4 new EIBs over this last weekend. We are on a "hot" streak. AWESOME!!
  14. That was an awesome costume. Reminds me of how puppeters operate Big Bird.
  15. Guess I should have delayed my request. I wanted to be #100! But I'm #99. Just kidding Honored to be a part of the "Elite".
  16. This Daniel Delacruz, TK4559, from the Central California Garrison requesting ESB EIB status:
  17. I made my own belt from canvas. I sewed velcro on the ends to hold it together. Similar to firebladejedi's method. Check his tutorial in the how-to section.
  18. Thanks for the support guys. I'm "officially" a TK in the 501st! I put the D-ring on my blaster earlier this morning. EIB hopefully very soon.
  19. -------- it's the #1 pinned topic
  20. I took some more shots a little while ago. Finished the helmet tonight. Picked up pinstripe tape for around the ears. I also made some loops for the holster to convert it to ESB style.
  21. Here's from urbandictionary.com "hecka: Word used by young children in NorCal (mostly bay are i.e San Fransisco, oakland, dublin, pleasenton, livermore etc.) before they are old enough to use hella without getting in touble. Your hecka stupid! This hecka sucks monkey butt!" Yeah, I personally dislike the word but honestly do catch myself one rare occasions using it. Mostly when talking to young people.
  22. E-6000 is flexible. I was in a rush to finish the strapping for my armor and instead of sewing velcro to webbing I glued it with E-6000. It made a strong bond and is flexible.
  23. Thought I'd finally put up some full shots of my armor (so far). Hopefully with the day off tomorrow I can finish the helmet and thermal detonator. It feels good!
  24. I'll be sure to post up pictures of me in the whole TX. The ATA is almost done. Still have to put together the thermal detonator and attach the drop boxes to the belt. I'm redoing the bottom screw placement on the helmets ears. I didn't like where I initially put them. They were too close to the bottom opening.
