  1. AP is made of ABS. Can we ask what armor/maker you got this opinion from? I know I had to trim A LOT from my first FX kit & I'm 130lbs, 5'7".
  2. Great looking armor. You're one of the better Animated Clones I've seen. IMHO, most of the guys out there with Animated suits aren't built to look like the show's clones. It just doesn't look right. "You got the look!" I ordered an animated set too. Hopefully that'll be the one I wear to WonderCon next Spring.
  3. nice kit. post lots of pics if you can during the build BTW, sorry for the "hijacker" up there . Continue with YOUR build.
  4. Yes ATA & CAP-W pull suits in black HIPS. I have kits from both and they are very similar IMO.
  5. Yes there is supposed to be a "specialist", EIB-type, program within the Special Ops Detachment but its still "under construction". Stay tuned
  6. The Special Ops Detachment recently changed their website. Here's the current forum 501st Special Ops Detachment I'm on there everyday so I know its up. Several new members just joined this week in fact.
  7. I'm a couple inches taller than you (5'6") and I chose ATA which is made of HIPS. I love it. It costs less than an AP kit and is a more labor intense build because you'll need to paint it. My 2 cents for a fellow "short trooper"
  8. EVERY "able bodied" female should wear slave leia gear at the next Celebration for ROTJ. WOW, can you imagine how much fun THAT Imperial Bash would be? Does anyone have a video of the Slave Leia that belly danced at the Imperial Bash? She was awesome.
  9. Sorry your topic got "side tracked" Robert. Nice belts though. Well done.
  10. I picked up a mannequin bust on craigslist. Now I have an armor display in my room.
  11. Helmet issue: I think its mounted too far back. That why that gap is there.
  12. $150 for a FX lid?!
  13. Great job with the bucket so far. I was able to meet the 501st's representative from the Philippines at Celebration 5 this past weekend in Orlando, Florida. Chris Catanda. Unfortunately he wasn't able to bring his armor but I'm glad he made the very long trip to the states.
  14. Helmet color shouldn't affect your ability to join the 501st. 501st standards are relatively low and easily attainable. achieving EIB status on this forum though is another story. Post pictures if possible.
  15. Here's two others I took of the cool prototypes they had.
  16. ------------- The straighter one is the right.
  17. Mike aka TK-4510 has most of those parts you're looking for available on his website. Did you not get screws, neck & brow trim with your ATA? My kit was complete with all the parts when I got mine. There are a couple very good ATA builds posted on the TE derived armor section.
  18. Haha, that is great stuff. I use the exact same stuff in my armor builds. They use it at my work for sound proofing the engine panels for construction equipment (wheel loaders & excavators).
  19. Almost 1 & 1/2 years with the 501st & so far nine completed trooping missions. Completed costumes have been a TX Black hole Trooper and an ESB TK.
  20. He's another comparison shot. On the right is my AP ANH Stunt helmet. On the left is darthfoster's RT-Mod ANH Stunt. If anyone is familiar with the different models of RT-mod helmets please chime in and let darthfoster know which one he has.
  21. I was able to pick mine up from a local hobby supply store but I've seen that they are available through many online hobby stores. Here's just one that I quickly found ehobbies polishing cloths
