  1. Do you run fans? No Which Hovi do you use? Standard MRCE tips Hovi with the mini speakers built in? No Is your Brow and neck trim accurate? Brow yes, Neck no.
  2. Wow, I wonder how hard it would be to do this around decals and what not. Would you recommend this process on a finished helmet? I have that kinda eggshell texture on certain spots of my helmet that drive me crazy. I guess that begs another question: If you did this technique only on part of a helmet, not the whole thing, would there be a noticeable difference in finishes?
  3. Watching Fanboys for inspiration I see? From one large TK to another, your doing a great job! Keep it up!
  4. The only other costumes I have had that are really worth mentioning were some Daft Punk helmets and gloves I made years ago back when I was still and highschool and an uber prop making novice. They ended up going the way of eBay to help fund college/my TK.
  5. Just saw it today and loved it, but now I have a head ache, haha. First time I haven't been able to tell what was CG and what wasn't (other than the obvious things).
  6. To make an analogy, Star Wars is my wife that I love with all my heart, has a warm cooked meal for me when I come home from work, and is always there for me. Star Trek is that girl across the street who got that new face lift recently and is better looking than ever, that I some times catch myself checking out through the window blinds, but will I always have eyes for Star Wars.
  7. I know I am a day late, but I would love one of these for my new car! PM sent
  8. Thank you Thank you! I feel like I got an early Christmas present! I'll try to get some good pictures, but my house is very cramped and doesn't have a lot of room for pictures (hence why the most recent photos are so up close and personal), and it looks like Hoth outside here so I'll probably need to take some pictures at a friends house. I do have some body shots left over from Halloween though, and I went ahead and photoshoped this one bellow. Is this quality good?
  9. New pics in my thread, waiting for a thumbs up or thumbs down!
  10. Alright, took a little longer than expected but tonight I was finally able to snag some one to take some pictures of me. Sorry for the crappy quality, but these are the best I can do for now. If you need to see some better pics of the blaster I can take some outside tomorrow in natural lighting. As for a helmets off pic of me with the neck seal- I totally forgot! I'll take one soon I promise. For now though I am hoping this is enough to get me in the EIB before the end of the year! The T-tracks are from Smitty's last run, and the neck seal is by Oiftanker. So, am I good now? *fingers crossed*
  11. Woodchuck you're a Jedi!? No wonder you have such amazing crafting skills!
  12. So I'm home! Do I just need pictures proving I have a neck-seal now and extra T-tracks on the blaster, or do I need to get in the whole get up?
  13. Personally I had my fingers crossed for Battlefront 3 being the "secret Star Wars game"
  14. Alright, I just got my neck seal today and the T-tracks a while ago. Right now its exam week but I'll be going home soon, then I will put the new tracks on my blaster, and take some new pictures with my neck seal on. Hopefully I get in before the end of the year!
  15. I'm probably in violation of common sense here, but this is something I never would have expected to happen. Today is the first time I looked at my armor since I packed it up after the Star Wars Concert in Boston, and I am glad I did before I left it under my bed in my dorm for another week (Thanksgiving break). My under suit, and other soft parts were so damp with sweat that now, a week later, there is mold just about all over everything in my tote. I haven't even tried to remove it yet, but I am hoping it didn't stain the plastic! As for the soft parts... I'm hoping I can just wash them. Right now I am just trying to let everything air out while I finish packing to go home in... an hour and a half :? Another strange side effect, it would seem the moisture has penitrated the paint job on my blaster, and now it has gross sweat filled pimples under the surface of the paint. Yuck! Any suggestions? Hopefully the armor's finish is not ruined so I can still go elite, otherwise I might have to go Sandy
  16. Hm... I've never really liked the Hero helmets as much as the stunts, but maybe this is the way I need to go. Food for thought, thank you!
  17. Thanks for the tips! I don't suppose you have some pics of your helmet, for inspiration sake?
  18. So last night was my first troop (Yay!) at the Star Wars in Concert shows in Boston, but ater wearing my MRCE a few times I am starting to think about my other bucket options. Not because of accuracy per say, but rather fit. I'm pretty unlucky when it comes to helmets. I have a 25.5" diameter head (hat size 8 1/2), and a short neck. As a result, my face is practically pushed up against the inside of my MRCE, even with minimal padding. As a result I think the lack of room makes me more prone to fogging as well. But also at the same time not only is my MRCE too small, but too big/tall for my neck. Last night I jealously watched some of my fellow, but long necked, TK's who could turn there heads every which way but loose. Where as I, with my short neck, can turn my head a few inches in any direction if I am lucky. So, what options do I have? I feel like if I got a bigger helmet (which any helmet is bigger than the CE, other than AP, right?) it would fit my head better, but I would be able to move my head even less :\ Would getting an AP mean I could move my head more? Would getting a ATA or TE2 mean I would fog less? I've also heard of people cutting away at the bottom of the front of the helmet, where for most it bumps into the chest. Can that be done without ruing the look of the helmet?
  19. ATA, TE2, and any other movie accurate suits are going to be close to the same size, which is indeed for smaller folks. I've heard of people your size and weight fitting into movie accurate armor with some TLC, but FX and RT-Mod would probably look the most natural on you. Personally I have an RT-Mod suit and I can vouch for its quality. Its top notch, and worth the price and the wait. There's a new set of armor coming out with big and tall troopers in mind, but I am not sure if I'm allowed to talk about it! As far as a size chart goes... I've never seen one, sorry! PS The general rule of thumb is to stay away from eBay when it comes to Stormtrooper stuff!
  20. Why don't they let fans work at Lucasfilm? I know I'd do it for free!
  21. That must be impossible to walk in, let alone on stilts!
