  1. Someone on the RPF thinks it spells FEAR, which looks like a pretty good match.
  2. I was looking at those new Vanity Fair pictures and noticed this guy in the background. What do you think? Link to gallery with all the new pictures.
  3. I believe in one of their interviews at Anaheim, or maybe even a post on the RPF, Anovos said there were different sized helmets used for the production of the movie. The one that they were given access to and subsequently based their helmets off of was a larger one.
  4. Hello all, I'm looking into getting a MTK lid but I just want to make sure it will fit my huge noggin (I wear a size 8 1/4 hat). My current helmet is an MRCE and my face presses up against the faceplate pretty uncomfortably. If someone with an MTK could take these measurements for me it would be greatly appreciated! For comparison sake on my the measurements on my MRCE are... Front (right between the eyes) to the back: 9 inches Side to side at the tops of the ears: 8.25 inches Thank you!
  5. Once and a while when I get the "Arn't you a little fat for a Stormtrooper" remark or something similar I say back "Well, if they didn't want me to eat so much they shouldn't have made the buffet on the Death Star all you can eat!"
  6. Problem solved, I gave them a call and I got my answer. Thanks!
  7. Hey all, I am in kind of a pickle and was wondering if anyone might have some insight. I just recently read the article about the cool perks of being a Hyperspace member at CV, which lead me to check out my Hyperspace account on SW.com for the fist time in a while. Once I got there it would seem as though I am not a Hyperspace member anymore. Here's where it gets confusing. 2009 was my last year as a "paying" Hyperspace member that I remember, since it just did not seem like the club was not worth the expense anymore. So I turned off my automatic renewal. Then a few weeks ago I got a 2010 Hyperspace Fan Kit in the mail, which lead me to think "Huh, maybe I got automatically signed up again anyway?". But as I said, when I log on my account says I need to sign up for Hyperspace at this moment. So I am not sure what to think. I e-mailed sw.com and I am hoping to hear back from them, but I was wondering if anyone on here might have an explanation for whats going on in the mean time? Maybe I signed up for Hyperspace years ago at a weird time of year, so my membership only lasted part way into 2010?
  8. Thanks for the replies guys! Convention Newb questions: "Will Call" is just for people picking up their tickets, right? All I will need is to have my badge and I can go right in Thursday? How early should one get there before the doors open?
  9. Hey all, I just got my badge for CV in the mail today, and I am very excited. Thing is, I have never been to a convention before, let alone a big one like CV, and I am starting to feel a little intimidated by it all. I'm hoping some more experienced Convention goers can share some words of wisdom? What should I bring, what should I make sure to see, etc?
  10. It probably wouldn't hurt to get the opening dimension either, but I think in general as long as the helmet interior is larger than my MRCE it will fit. Granted I have to put my MRCE on sideways also, but like Mark says that's pretty common. So any other volunteers for measuring their helmets? Pretty please? I know there are a few of you out there who have practically every helmet ever made
  11. I've used E6000 on my armor, my car, and my shoes. Might just be the best glue ever!
  12. I know I already started a thread kinda on this subject in the NCO, but thanks to a suggestion from my girlfriend last night I think I have a system that would help me find a helmet that fits w/o having to try on people's buckets in person. This might even be useful for future troopers with big heads. I'm looking for helmet owners of all kinds to take two measurements from inside their buckets: 1) From between the eyes, right on edge of the "ridge", to back between the trapezoids 2) From the top of one ear, to the other. Here's a picture to better illustrate what I mean: For example, the measurement inside my MRCE are: Front to back: 9 and 1/8th inches Ear to ear: 8 and a 1/2 inches Any help will be greatly appreciated! -Hayes
  13. Oooo... Well I definitely need to try before I buy. Even if I measured my head, and someone compared it to the dome of their bucket, that wouldn't exactly prove the helmet would fit my head. My head is very long/deep, from front to back, so even if the diameter of a helmet is larger than my head, my head might/probably would be the wrong shape <_< , if that makes any sense. Think trying to fit an oval into a round hole that are both the same diameter.
  14. Thanks for the tip, I never considered a SDS before. Well, I have, but I thought he couldn't ship to the states?
  15. I am on a quest to find a TK bucket that fits me comfortably, and that also has "lineage" to the screen used helmets (aka no FX, RT, or A.N.H. suggestions please!) I figure since I am out in middle of no where Red Neck territory, Vermont that CV is going to be my best bet to have "access" to as many different kinds of helmets as possible. My head is 25.5" around, or a hat size 8+, and my current helmet, a MRCE Mod, fits me very snugly to the point that I really can't stand it anymore. My eyeballs touch the lenses, and I fog up like there is no tomorrow simply due to the fact my face is literally pushed up against the faceplate. So basically I am looking for people who are going to CV with their armor to volunteer sharing contact info with me, so that we can meet up at some point during the course of the con and to let me try your helmet on. In particular I am looking to try on a TE2, since I have read that some believe it to be the "biggest" accurate helmet, but to date the only bucket I have ever tried is my MRCE. So, if you are interested in helping me out, post here + what helmet you have, and I will shoot you a PM. Thanks! Hayes
  16. Well I have bad news and good news. That bad news is that 3 days ago when I went into my free session at the welness center their scale said I bumped all the way to an even 300 lbs. yikes. The good news is that after 3 days of calorie counting, and extra physical activity, when I went in for my follow up I lost 5 pounds! A small victory in what is going to be a looong battle.
  17. My armor's so bright- I gotta wear shades! Love the sunglasses Nice job, looks like an easy pass if I ever saw one.
  18. Thanks for all the advice guys- I'll steer clear of anything that comes in pill form, and I have an appointment for a check up with my Dr. later on in the week. I haven't had much of a chance to be more active since my last post, since I work during the week pretty much during all waking hours, but I look forward to going for a nice long bike ride with my Girl Friend this weekend. Now here's another question... Today while I was going for a walk down in town on my lunch break I got pulled into a Wellness Center by a spokesperson on the street, and they talked to me about the services they offer. Basically, they said they "would help me lose weight" by having me go in and having sessions with their professionals, buying their products, and etc. I guess they are part of a wellness chain that's all over the US and their base of operations is in California where "certified" Doctors make their products. While I was there I drank a cup of water with Aloe in it to heal my inside, a special tea to give me an energy boost, and a milk shake full of nutrients that tasted like chalk. After all that they said "There, now you've had lunch for the day!" What do you guys think, is it all a big scam or worth a try? I think for poops and giggles I will go in tomorrow and use my free session and see what its like.
  19. TK-4289 checking in I used to frequent around here a lot more in the past, but after my first troop my enthusiasm kinda deflated. Once I saw videos and pictures of how I looked "in the real world" in my armor I was embarrassed of how I looked amongst my more "fit" brothers in armor. To make matters worse, after a recent family tragedy I ate a lot of comfort food and packed on even more pounds. A few weeks ago I went to try on my armor for poops and giggles and now I can't even fit into my already extra extra large sized armor. Woof! I went to the Doctors recently and I weighed in at a whopping 270 pounds (where as my "normal" weight is around 250). Its also worth noting I am only 20 years old, so I am very big for my age :\ Ideally I would love to be around 220 or lower, or be able to wear an extra large t-shirt comfortably. Probably the smallest I have ever been is around 230, and that summer I went for daily bike rides, did 100 sit ups a day, and drank only water. So... I guess I will start there, try to keep my portions down, and try not to sit on my butt for such long periods of time. Question for the experts- Is there a pill or supplement I can get from the local "vitamin" store that would help me out in anyway? Whether it be to curb hunger, boost energy, or the like, I am looking for any help I can get. -Hayes
  20. Very cool! Is it just me, or are their helmets modified Darth Tater and Spud Trooper helmets?
  21. I had a foreign exchange student friend from Austria in high school. Her name was Merle. I remember having a crush on her because of her accent She thought Americans were very mean and fat, that the bread in the U.S. sucked, and the lack of free public transportation was/is ridiculous and unacceptable.
  22. I might be wrong, but I think I remember this helmet as being described as "big". Probably not as big as the FX lid, but if your friend is looking for an accurate sized lid this might not be it.
