  1. I don't think there is any harm in buying a helmet, especially if you go with an MRCE. You could always modify it later. Personally I have the problem where I get "hooked" on an idea, where I think something is cool and decide I really want it, but once I get it/have it I hardly use it. That's why there is a 1969 Volkswagon Beetle sitting in my drive way that I hardly drive anymore. I saw it for sale on the side of the road one day on the way to school and I said "I NEED THAT!", so I went and bought it. Probably the worst investment I have made so far in my life. I thought I really wanted it at the time but now its just sitting there. Stormtrooper armor is really expensive if you only plan on using it once or twice. If its something you plan on trooping in and using frequently then I would consider it a "good" investment. If you want to wear it to school once or twice, or use it for a Halloween costume, only to get bored with it and have it sit in your closet then I would consider it a "bad" investment. If you buy just a helmet then at least you are only in the hole a few hundred dollars or so. That's basically what I did. I bought my MRCE helmet when they first came out, wore it with a white tuxedo for halloween (TK-Suave ), and now a year later I am modifying the helmet and investing in some armor. So yes, long answer to your short question, I think its a good idea to get a helmet first, see if you really like it or you get bored with it, and go from there.
  2. From one young TK'er to another (I'm 19) I would defiantly put a lot of thought into weather or not your at a good point in your life to invest in some armor. When I was 16 I almost bought an FX kit but then I realized that what I would end up spending to get the kit and all the accessories I could buy a small used car (Which I ended up doing). Now, out of high school, and I have a good job and I can afford such pleasantries. Now I'm not saying don't pursue being a stormtrooper, don't get me wrong, I just think its a decision that requires a lot of thought and maybe even some soul searching. Because the cost of a complete TK, especially if you go with movie accurate armor, could buy a lot of other things, some of them maybe more "important" than others. Just my 2 cents.
  3. I've always wondered in this scene if Obi-Wan says, when talking to Luke about Anakin, "And he was a good friend" or "Ani was a good friend"
  4. Hey all, I read through the Stunt CRL and I was wondering... Do "correct" mic tips mean the two-tone ones? Would the ones on my MRCE prevent me from getting stunt elite status?
  5. Doing the twist is not the problem, its just with a head 25.5" around I've never really been sure what helmet is for me. In my MRCE the front and the back of my head touches the front and back of the dome, no padding!
  6. This is just what I needed! I could just barely fit my head into my MRCE. so its good to know I have other more accurate options (excluding the FX, that goes without saying)
  7. My head is 25.5 inches around, which I think in a hat size is something like 8 1/4, and I can fit my head in an MRCE. I had to take out the crappy padding (which one should do anyway), but it fits. So I would say a MRCE would definitely fit you, and is definitely a step up from the FX bucket. Hope that helps! And from one melon head to another I feel your pain!
  8. I have a very "tall" foot, which in the past has kept me from wearing boots that you slip into. From the top of my arch to where my foot meets the front of my calve is about 3 and half inches, and I wear a size 10US. So basically my foot look more like a triangle than anything else Would a CAboot fit my regular size, or should I go up a size or two to account for my triangle feet?
  9. My head is 25.5 inches around and the MRCE just barely fits me. So it should definatly fit anyone with a normal sized head
  10. How did you end up filling the gap on your bucket, exactly? I have yet to find a "definitive" method of doing so. -Thanks!
  11. They were here today! Good thing I didn't send him an e-mail!
  12. Hey everyone. I just have a quick question, I hope this is the right section. I bought a Hasbro Doopydoos kit off of you know where and the transaction was completed March 5th, and the kit is still not here. Now, am I just impatient, or are shenanigans afoot? Thanks! -Hayes
  13. I've heard that using silicone caulking without painting over it attracts dirt like a magnet. Can anyone confirm or deny this?
