  1. Yep snaps left and right side. Snaps for the brave, velcro for the sensible. I don`t need to say this but measure twice drill once if you go for snaps.
  2. fantastic job there Rob,you wear that armour not the other way round.just one very small point i spotted with my beady eye, your belt.It should sit higher, the top of the belt should sit at the bottom of your button box. Like so. Some troopers use velcro to hold the belt in position, some like myself go for the snap option. Like i said a small detail .Once again super job all round.
  3. Tm comes in High gloss capped ABS as standard,i have seen an ABS suit which R2 Dan TK8527 showcased that was not gloss capped. The boss seens to think so This lid is going ANH which i am its biggest fan.My other TM lid is being converted to ESB .
  4. outstanding collection there Scott,When you first added the F/G set for stun i was i must say a little green.I have also enjoyed all your show threads mate.lets hope there are may more, space allowing.
  5. IE8 Never used anything else, not educated in other browsers.I think correct me if im wrong but most UK users go for IE8?
  6. Just a small thing some of the pictures have not resized, they are hanging out the side of my monitor. Also the ones that are resized do not show in a new window as they did before when you clicked on them? No big issue.Well done team on a speedy transition.
  7. We have almost come to the end of part one of this thread thanks for playing along. back and cap. One very new face plate. very special thanks to TM for the all new stunt lid kit in gloss acrylic capped ABS. As always super sharp details fantastic looks that keep improving every version. So in a drawn out over long intro we have the all NEW TM lid.Part two of this thread the making of the kit. I have started the kit by trinning the flash off the face and back,The pictures show how i want the lid to look, what do you think? Finally a TM 360 Enjoy
  8. Sorry about the delay guys as Fireblade said i was working away so no update. Now where did i leave them pictures.Ahhh here we go.Some very nice looking TM ESB hand plates, and the new shape. Some rubber trim. More rubber trim. ears they look sweet. I think we better delve deeper i think whats at the bottom of this box is very close. What the!i dont believe it somethings gone wrong with the camera,Im sure its an easy fix be right back
  9. I had a sweat on there for a time,24 hours and only one reply.I thought this bit of fun was going to fall flat on its face. Pablo This is what i was hoping for, some on the edge of the seat stuff.Without further a do heres how things have progressed. Thanks for all your top tips guys.I found using ones finger nail under a corner the tape round the box came way almost in one go. The four sides of the lid had to be opened in sequence but again soon made light work of that. Very strange the box seems heavy, there must be something more that packing material in there.I had a brain wave,if i take the packing material out there just might be something at the bottom of this box! Now whats this in the bottom? Well guys its been a long day for me,and i have some things to do so will update as soon as i can! TTFN
  10. Thank you so much Tom, it seems to work real well. This is hard work what with all the PPE regs, health and safety these days will post updates tomorrow. Thanks again. TTFN.
  11. You say much better, its blumin fantastic. What a difference now this suit looks like its straight out of the Star Wars Dictionary (You know the Picture im sure) Im going to say it again, fantastic.
  12. I was over on the west wing balcony this morning and spotted the postman comming up the drive Took delivery of a box postmarked from the UK.Special delivery! it must be something good. Ok i have looked all over the forum for a tutorial on how to get into a box, there is nothing as far as i can find.Lots of threads on armour building ,top tips on helmet construction, blaster making, velcro, snaps, boots theres even one build thread on sandtroopers kit! Nothing on box opening. Thoughts off the top of my head are..... Dynomite this was a non starter as i have no matches in the home. The JCB again drew a blank, can`t find the keys anywere.I thought i know i will ask the butler hes good at that sort of thing, hes gone missing as well.last seen cleaning the boating lake! I want to know whats in this box as much as you do,any help please? I will keep you posted as to how i get on. TTFN
  13. here we go let the magic begin. WARNING pictures from now on will be censored if they become to dirty for FISD veiwing!
  14. Nice one go with what you know first off.Maybe down the road a ways add the rivets,Keep us posted.
  15. Its sure is acceptable! The way you join these parts is down to You.The rivet detail can be part of the joining process ,or just a detail serving no purpose other than to mimic the screen suits,or not present at all. Its all down to screen accuracy, for me they are a must have feature. velcro with no rivets like i said very secure and acceptable way of doing it.The rivet detail is NOT needed for FISD Elite,it states the cod and Kidney should have no gap.
  16. blimy thats my ATM pin ooops did i say that out loud!!!! what good it would do you anyway. great news on the TK numbers mate ,Weekends will never be the same again. ATm pin was a joke BTW
  17. As far as the gaps you now have, its down to your positioning not your trimming. What did Dr stuka say about NOT putting the ears straight? if you had or are going to position the ears at more of an angle then the gap will be greatly reduced.
  18. Very nice Jason,I am no expert on the ROTJ suits but i will say again super job.May i be add some constuctive Criticism on the overall suit fitted,in that the leg area seems a little short to your body size.you may want to drop the ab-plate and inch or two, allowing the legs to drop the same. This will lengthen the suit which will balance everything out better. Its just a little top heavy in my eyes. The same goes for the biseps could drop an inch distributing the arm armour a little better. Small things i know but dont stop short for a great looking bit of kit.
  19. The TKboot is a no brainer as far as im conserned, white leather non shine finish, super soft great looking almost 100% screen accurate NO smell.Go for it troopers and as for the price, bargin!
  20. oohhh yes thats how it should be done, fantastic work there trooper ROTJ all the way with this one 100% Its no good hanging in the window "GET IT ON"
  21. Thank you Rolf the simple ideas are always the best ideas with outstanding results!
  22. As you are going to overlap the front parts RT is right in saying go for aprox 24mm on each ridge.I always find if you measure from the inside and follow the raised line down the thigh and shin you should get a good straigh line. On the overlap put the outer thigh part over the inner and the same for the shins,it just looks better.Once you have trimmed and glued the fronts you are right in saying that the backs are trimmed to suit your size. Keep us posted on how you are getting on take your time and have fun with your white plastic project
  23. sweet mate glade to be about for a little help. Very cool number as well great news TK9234.post some pictures of your first troop for us all.
  24. The only way i see it is first off the outer strip overlap the inner strip and get some heat on them Or as the other guys say do the same thing in outer over inner and velcro them closed. It may be a tight fit but who hasnt suffered for there art . Or looking at the pictures outer over inner, but Glue the inner strip inside the main shine back
  25. NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO !!! dont you dare cut any more off! The screws will pinch the gaps Right mate, first off the back and face plate will never match up they are two different shapes. The ears cover that area anyway. The ears gap will never be fag paper thin.DO NOT worry about a slight gap it sort of adds to the helmets Character. There are thousends of helmets out there with gaps form 1mm to an inch (wow metric and imperial lol) they are all right. The screen lids again had good fitting ears and poor fitting ears.As long as you can not drive a bus through the gap then leave be.Looking at the pictures you done a good job mate. If i were to trim anything more off the ears then it wound be at the bottom so the wedge is not so thick, thats all i would do.BTW the back of the ears is always going to have more trimmed off that the front because of the different shape. like what you are doing and as for the brow rubber again why not leave it a little short ,alot of screen lids had short rubber.
