  1. Congrats Terrell!!!!! I mean "boss" It feels good, doesn't it???
  2. Looks good Terrell!!! I think you have it nailed.
  3. Paul taught me this a while back and I've never done it another way. The lines are AMAZING. It's so simple... well even a "Brad" can do it... It's great because if you have so much control. If you want a thick line... easy as pie... nice tight thin line (thiner than any brush can POSSIBLY do" not an issue. SUMMARY: Listen to Paul.
  4. SPECTACULAR!!!!! I can't wait to see you suited up Terrell. What holster is that? If it's what I think it is... BTW... Does it have the "natural" brown leather for the straps. I can't tell.
  5. Paul, I hear ya man. I never thought to get a babysitter.... I've always pulled the late night armor builds. Nothing like staying up until you glue your hands to the work bench. Once free, you can go to bed. It's funny that I just had this same conversation with my wife today (me being tired and grumpy for staying up too late... ). I may have to think about the babysitter option vs staying up all hours of the night. NOTE TO WIFE: If you read this little one... sorry....
  6. I've done the same thing Terry... it's not an easy fix (actually... I still have some issues). Good luck my friend.
  7. Thanks Bill. That means alot coming from you man. Yea, I've made a few changes from the Dayton Philharmonic days. I learned a lot from your armor!!!! I STILL need to do the Bill chest strap MOD you showed me. I can't wait to see you all set up man. I'll never forget those first troops (my first big event - Dayton Philharmonic) and the very first outing with Dave, Mike, Derek, and Lord Mark at a Birthday party. I was a mess.... even more than usual... . The best part... every outing is better than the last when you have good people!!!
  8. I've not been checking. Are they MR LEs? Remember there is a large community of Licensed Collectable people vs Fan Made. the Licensed may be less accurate and in high numbers (vs fan made/cast), but it's better advertised and has that "licensed" appeal.
  9. ha... funny. The reports are that Lucas asked eFX to create them to help with the demand. Lucas got wind of the fans being upset with the MR run being cut short/high cost of the "bay" etc..., so wanted to "help out". It's not a scheduled product for eFX, just an attempt to get some more buckets out there to help collectors.
  10. I'll try to take some pics of my TE and my MR side by side. I can throw in my A.N.H. bucket as well (but it's not finished and is getting dirty). It should give you some idea of the proportions.
  11. Yea!!!!! This is great news. Thanks you Scott and Paul!!! This site is sweet and I'm very happy to have improved the accuracy of my TK. Very happy.
  12. It's the exact same MR LE lid. No changes. The goal was to get some additional ones out to help with demand. Lucas asked eFX to provide them and they were not on the origianl eFX plan. the only difference will the the plaque (eFX vs MR) and COA (same reason)
  13. Here are the updates and some additional photos. I changed to the white strap and moved the drop box out to the ends of the belt (a little) Blast 'em
  14. I vented my FX bucket. No one ever notices they are cut. I had the same problem, the decals look ok, but I should just remove them and hand paint them. I added 2 fans (one blowing in, one blowing out). LOVE IT. I also have 2 fans on the eyes and 2 fans at the neck in the front of the face (I guess the best way to describe it would be the reverse aerator dimples... I don't know) So that's a total of 6 fans. I still sweat…. Like a mad man, but at least I'm fog free and have a little air moving.
  15. Be careful if you go the heat gun route. It's a long slow process to get the curve right for the calf. Actually it's a major pain in the butt.... or is it calf... whatever. Just go slow or you will warp your shim and have to start over. Be sure to get the exact fit you want BEFORE you glue anything it. It's even a bigger pain in the butt/shim to go back and have to heat again....
  16. Got it Scott. I'll try to get the new pics tonight or tomorrow. Our camera is not the greatest, so I'll see what I can do.
  17. Thanks Bernard. yea, I plan on changing over to white. I just need to make it to the fabric store. When I make the change, I'll move them out a little bit as well (more to the sides) Thank you too Terry!!! Looking forward to joining the ranks!!!
  18. That's great Julian. Thank you.
  19. Bryce, sweet shot of the thighs man. I'm going to give that a shot. I don't like the shim look on my thighs at all. I've also thought about adding the shim, then a smaller "fill" piece so you then would have 2 seams where the shim is, but no "dip" of the actual shim. I "could" then fill the seams, but then would have to sand and paint. Seems like it would be easier to give the RT a shot first then see if I am up for a thigh project. I had the drop boxes slightly to the front to try to cover up some more of the black space (again, since I'm big). I can try to move them a little further out and see how it looks. Good eye. I'll be honest, never caught the round edge on the knee. That's awesome. I'll quickly give that a snip!!! That's what I love about this place. I always learn something new. For the butt plate, I cut the back and belt on the natural seam. I then have 3 straps in side. One on each side (1" thick) and once center (3" thick). Now remember... I'm a big guy. I added space between the back and the butt so it would sit correctly. If I take my belt off there is probably a gap of 1 - 1.5 inches. Cutting the back/ab was a MUST do for me to fit in the armor. If not, I would never get the chest down over my ab and my back. Heck it still just barely makes it. I can't wait to give the RT thighs a shot. The pictures really help. Thank you.
  20. Thank you guys!!!! I love the TK, so I've tried to do it justice, even on a big guy like myself. Boozel turned me on to RT and told me about the thighs. It's one of the biggest issues I have with my armor. No matter what I do, I can't get the area to shrink (sides of thigh to belt/butt). there is just so much black space there. Boozel let me know that his thighs are much bigger than say a TE/TE2 or other ANH armor out there. I'm going to have to give RT a try. I like the biceps too on the RT.
  21. Thanks Scott. I agree about the thighs. I need to cut them to a better shape (odd since I have this shim...). Darn FX thighs. The bucket is TE (except the last one for Paul and Terrell) EDIT: sorry, forgot to post about the buttons. They are from VaderDave's first run. I have another set as well (from another maker). The colors look good, the pictures... the light and the camera we have don't do the color justice.
  22. All right, It's been a lot of work, a lot of time, a lot of frustration.... no... just kidding. Lots of fun. Since joining, I always wanted to "correct" my armor. It's taken some time/attention span. I get lost in other project, but it keeps me coming back to the TK. I'm a big guy(6'3" 250ish), so it's FX for me. I've tried to make some changes to it for fit, but it's still tough. So here is where I am at? What say you? Blaster Details One for Paul and Terrell
  23. I voted no. ESB used decals, so it's one of the little details that make an ESB an ESB. That's just my 2 cents. since I'm pretty much on the loosing side of all these votes, looks like hand painted will be accepted.
  24. Paul - If you want quick and strong, go with Thick or Medium (I recommend Medium) CA (superglue for those asking waht CA is). I've never had an issue with my armor busting apart. I have broken snaps, but never plastic to plastic... To make it even faster, add a little spray of CA accelerator. It cures the CA in seconds. Be careful, it does get a little hot and makes the fingers stick even quicker I’ve built a couple of sets now with CA. I will never use anything different.
  25. Way to go Jon!!! I'm excited for you and look forward to working with you man.
