  1. I used 1" and 3" black elastic connected to the halves with snaps. The 1" elastic strips were on the side and the 3" elastic was in the middle. So I ended up with 3 connections to the cod/ab and butt/back.
  2. If Ward can't set you up, I have a set painted up and ready to go. I had them as spare, but don't need them anymore.
  3. Yea, the fact that the 501st, Steve, and armor were all next to the word Licened.... very interesting. Looks like some protypes are due a SDCC and DragonCon.
  4. Well, this is going to be MOST interesting. http://www.rebelscum.com/story/front/You_S...umes_112648.asp Museum Replicas Joins With Lucas Licensing for Star Wars™ Collectibles New Agreements Begin This Month for Collectible Replica Clothing and Armor Fans and collectors will find new lines of collectibles from Museum Replicas and their new licensing division Windlass Studios in 2008; it was announced today by Museum Replicas. 5. Take it off???? I'm confused…. Are Taxes NOT due this year? Did you just hear that I am NEVER going to die? Did Maverick leave his wingman? Lastly…. Did Hell freeze over????
  6. Store it... you mean... take it off?????? WHAT???? Rubbermaid tub w/ wheels is what I use currently.
  7. I got off my butt and fixed my bucket. Like I said before, it was a FX hero/stunt mix. So now it's just stunt. I cut the extra frown teeth, re-did the frown paint, and added the screws to the ears. The hardest part was removing that damn old frown paint. It's not perfect, but it looks good. Now I just need to add the side plates and I'm done.
  8. Did you check the COA and tan envelope (ON THE SIDE OF THE PACKAGING). That's were the plaque should be. It's suppose to be "wonky" just like the original. It's a mix between screen accurate with "collectable" material. Notice the paint lines... wavy like they were "hand done" Intentional, just like the wonky-ness.
  9. I need to install my side plates which will require me to redo my ab plate. I also have a incorrect Stunt/Hero FX helmet that I troop with. Sure I "could" throw on the TE, ANH, or MR for the picture, but I want to do it correct. Not to mention I want to do a Elite FX just to do it...
  10. A job well done Ed!!! Thank you.
  11. huhhhh? I couldn't hear you.
  12. Wow... it's been a while since I updated this. The ears/antenna have just been added. I've also been fitting the liner and electronics (you can see the speaker wire). I still have to finish up the top section, so you can see the Velcro there… The liner is a padding system for military helmets (Team Wendy). I have a pin head, so I have to scratch build something to make the interior of the helmet smaller. I've got half painted and still need to do the other side (you can see it's white) Well anyway… I've got a ton more work to do and by the progress I've been making it should be done in 2050…
  13. Humbrol #5 Gray for Traps, ears, and Frown Testors High Gloss Black for the vocoder
  14. Had Hyperdyne with Skullworx, but moved to Triktoys FX w/ Skullworx.
  15. Ed, Not to second guess you, but I don't think I understand. I've never seen anyone in my garrison complain, comment, nor be concerned with the color of my armor. It's like some people like to shine their armor and some people like the scuffs. I can't imagine that it would be a problem to have painted FX armor resulting in a slightly different shade of white over the standard FX armor. Similar to if a trooper doesn't use FX armor. Heck, I'm the only one in my area (that I know of) with a left handed holster, canvas belt, and correct ab buttons (I don't think anyone even noticed) Perhaps this is just my garrison, but I don't personally think it would be a problem (but I may be missing something)
  16. Sharpie worked well for me (and it's been through the wash many times...)
  17. I've ordered from Dave many times. Best damn tube stripes I've seen He's always come through for me. His decals are tops.
  18. Wally, that is interesting. I've not heard that one yet. How did you do it? What's it look like on the inside?
  19. I'm a bigger guy (6'3") and it's a little better. I can look down a "little" and I can move my head to both sides a "little". But it's not great. So even for big guys, it's still not as good as a smaller bucket. I also have to think it has to do with the chest plate and how it sticks out a little more than a smaller more accurate armor. In addition... you can't see anything any way...
  20. WOW... THAT'S AMAZING!!! I'm a big guy, so I have the FX armor. I wonder how the FX would look doing that? I hate the thighs... ANY improvement would be nice.
  21. This may just be the best thread I've seen!!! I love it. 2 well known experts, having a great conversation. This is wonderful and the information is amazing!!! Thank you Matt and Gino!!!
  22. One of the coolest posts I've seen. This is amazing. Thank you Matt!!!
  23. I forgot to take some pictures sorry (I'll try to remember tonight). This is just about perfect for where I cut mine though (Thanks Mark). It's worked out well. It's then attached to the ab in 3 sections of elastic w/snaps. I'm a tall trooper, so it actually has also helped give me some height on the ab section (so I don't pop out under the chest plate). The belt covers the gap in the front very well, and I let the back kind of "float" similar to the pictures above. I have Velcro on the underside of my belt in the front (one of Marks fabulous belts BTW...). The Velcro ensures that the belt doesn't slip in the gap (which can cause the snaps to pop and your cod to pop) (which is a little embarrassing... )
  24. It sure looks like it's there... very interesting Matt!!! Any idea how it looks from the inside? How it was cut/shaped? I want to add it to my TE bucket.
  25. I cut my cod with about 1.5-2 inches of the upper Ab section attached to it. I'll add a picture tonight (if I can't find one I already have). Basically it's about a 1/4 inch below the "dimple" where the FX plastic belt attaches to the front ab. Does that make sense? I just made my points then on the back side drew a line from point A to point B using a straight edge, then cut away. Seems to have worked out well so far.
