I've been trooping with an FX and enjoying the bucket is so large that it enables me to have everything wired into the helmet. Feedback has always been a pain that I lived with since its all in there (fans, sounds systems, boom mic). But, I'm also getting tired of the big helmet and thus RT came into my life. RT just fits so I was bummed that bommar + RT would not squeeze onto my head. However, Bommar rocks! I've never played with a all in one unit where I had the mic and speaker touching each other turned all the way up and no feedback. Its a very clean setup and having the mic positioning in front is better than the book mic typically used. High points for a clean design, rock solid feedback shielding and compact design.

LFL says its an original so that's enough for me.

Cross posted from the Legion board, original post created by Legion founder Albin Johnson "This weekend TK820 came over after our Make-A-Wish troop to build his brand new set of armor. Alan was trooping with me waaaay back at Dragoncon 98 when this whole thing was starting, so it was a proud moment when we put his new set together. He bought my first EVER suit and brought it along too and we couldn't resist doing a picture comparision of helmets. So I offer for your inspection, helmets from the ages: (L to R): Mike Chewpitch's original 1997 helmet sold through Dogstar Collectibles and my original first-ever trooper helmet, A standard Armor F/X **** helmet (missing the ear pieces, unfortunately), TE2 ****white TK (which I wore in Pasadena for the Rose Bowl Death March - note the badly dimpled forehead), a much better TE2 helmet in Sand Trooper mode (which I plan to wear when I sandy-up my current armor), and lastly ***** helmet from Germany which is an excellent piece and what I wear today while in TK. --------- Pretty cool. _________________ Albin Johnson Trooper TK210 "

I'll point this out to the admins.

Yep that's the bin. If you can find wide enough elastic, that could work. The question is how much space do you need to close up?

Expert advice required, fitting lenses

No kidding! I kept thinking of "A Christmas Story" when I composed that comment: "You'll shoot your eye out" -
There shouldn't be a gap. The bottom of the rear back should butt up against the top of the rear ab (screen accurate). Most armor's tend to hang over a bit so there is no gap. Does that answer your question?

Dean, That is a nice solution. I'm wondering how long those clips will last under pressure. I use those kind of clips to hang up photos on my cube at work. And ever so often the back snaps loose and goes flying. It would suck for that to happen inside a bucket.... trooper down! -
What does the armor really do?

Give hope those "lost" during the battle with the Ewoks. " I wasn't hurt, just rattled around in my armor... " -
Actually that's a good point. I don't think we have completed this project yet. doh!

Further update, the helmet. I'm currently working on the FX helmet with a certain prototype audio system. I've also purchased and received a completed RT mod helmet. I'm very happy with its look and general fit (I haven't yet installed padding yet). The fit is much better and bigger than the AP (which surprised me), and I still feel like I have space in there much like the FX. Pictures for reference: The surprise was the chin, RT installed a high quality decal versus painting, same with the ear caps. Big thumbs up for this helmet!

Adrian, The amount of front paint depends on the movie you are looking to emulate, see the deployment requirements page for a couple of examples: whitearmor.net/requirements

With respect to lens color check out the deployment specs for pictures: ----------

The two end won't completely butt up against each other. Take a look at the pre drilled screw holes in the ear caps and the bucket sides and you will see there is still space. What about a picture with the ear cap taped in place. That way we can chime in with concern about the gap if the ear cap does or does not cover. The brow trim might help cover up space if it exists as well.

Nice bike! Any chance you scared the neighbors by riding with your TK bucket?

Although that ABS cement takes 24 hours to cure it holds rock solid. The consistency is key and you can't find it everywhere,. I actually liked the down time, it forced me to slow down, plan, pace and think about next steps. I also started armor first which was a good idea since I over did the glue on my thighs but was okay with it, since it was thigh armor. Keep going with progress pics, we all like seeing them.

Well.. I have a one track armor mind.
