  1. This makes me want to run to the garage and get started om my BFG Thanks,
  2. Which Revell model is this? Is this the new release or a older one? This is where I order all my kits. CultTVman
  3. I think it looks great. Right on the money!
  4. Thanks for the input. I agree on the bells. I have some ATA bells that I'm going to try also, just got to get around to glossing them up. (Black Paint) I hope to get accepted into the 501st with the TX, I have a TK still in the box and I'll start on him soon (winter project). My wife wants the garage back............
  5. Oh and Terrell, the helmet is turning out awesome by the way. I'm taking my time and detailing it out. Thanks again!
  6. I just sent in my app. Now I guess I wait to be contacted, then I send in my pictures for approval. ..................Waiting.......................Waiting........................
  7. Thanks, It was challenging for my first build. Here is a shot from the front. Man this thing is hard to take pictures of. Like a black mirror. This is the TE2 helmet. I still have the ATA in the making process, (color sanding and detail painting). I'll post some finished pictures when I'm done. I hope to send in my pics to the 501st and get excepted.
  8. Brian, put me on your list for a signed copy. Thanks!
  9. P,M, sent. I'll take a set. Thanks for all your help man
  10. Yep, I learned real fast what it probably would feel like to your skin in a set of pliers. OUCH!! Note to self...... Trim it! I too have a nice mark on my right arm. Battle scars............
  11. Just look and you can see. Study up before you plunge, and like others have said for the price you can get a more screen accurate set of armor. ATA for one.
  12. Thanks for the info. I've surfed over there before just was never able to post. It can get a little heated at time and one sided, but there is some good info over there.
  13. I saw the clip of the making, great work and she commented on how expensive it was. Still turned out great for the time invested. "and a better body to fit the suit on" Funny man :D
  14. I always try to get up (if I'm off work) and tune into the today show on Halloween just to see what they wear. I was late turning the tube on but when I did. "BAM"! Star Wars......... and what is this the 501st!.............."AWESOME!" Fantastic and Congratulations, a lifetime event.
  15. Thanks, I have been posting over on the Spec Ops just not much going on over there. I am looking forward to going for my TX number with the 501st. Then I plan on hooking up with the 70th. TK is in the box waiting. I do plan on taking my time on him. This was a rush job. (More than I wanted too, for the young-uns Halloween escort) I do plan on getting some better picture soon............time flies Some of my Pictures on Flickr
  16. Finally got the finishing touches completed today. I still have a little tweaking on the fit, but all in all not bad. Here is a picture of my first fitting. I know it's a TX but I wouldn't have been able to complete it if it wasn't for all the help I got here on the FISD. Thanks to everyone that helped this newbie out. I think I'll take a little break then I'll start on the TK. Do you think I can get in the 501st with this TX? I'll try to get some better pictures soon.
  17. That is great, I'll be watching your build. I was telling a friend that ATA seems to be the way to go to get into a set of armor, can't beat the quality for the price, from what it looks like. Keep us informed.
  18. Having been ther done that ....you nailed it for me. I must admit I've made the mistake of the bay. I didn't know where else to ge to find armor. I've spent my money on what I've come to find to be recast, until I found this site I was ignorant to the facts, and gullible. If I had known I would have rather spent my money on first run casting and not the reduced xerox copy. I can only blame myself and learn from my mistakes. I have friends that value my opinions as well as I'm sure others here. With the help of the members here on the FISD I have found valued armor and can give educated advice to other would be consumers. I guess what I'm trying to say is, at sometime weren't we all new at something and made mistakes. Then a friend came along and you asked for a opinion or advice. That advice might have saved you from making another mistake. That is what friends are for, and that is what the FISD can do. Thanks to everyone here that has taken the time ( with dicussions like this )to help this newbie learn a little more.
  19. No biggie DEDEDEJr just trying to help a Trooper out. I know this will help you get to where you want to be.
  20. Keep up the good work, I like to see more of these ATA armor builds.
  21. Humor.......... Oh I get it............. Hey I like the added topics.
  22. Okay I'll bite for the sake of a discussion. What is the general opinion if someone improves on a design. Let say takes a part and improves the apperance or improves the mold to make a better detailed piece. (ex: Helmet, chest plate detail, shoulder bell edges ) Would this be considered recast? Does the person have to start from scratch to be a original cast? Off the top of my head.... someone uses a helmet that is already out there then cleans it up. Makes it really sharp puts all the bells and whistle to improve the look makes a mold from thier improved piece. Casts a buck, pulls the helmet. Recaster? What say yee? or
