  1. Got the TD done,, getting a little whiter all the time. :)

  2. What is the Trick? I must have missed the post somewhere.
  3. What I do is get all of the pieces trimmed to my liking then glue them at the same time. I let it set over night and then I remove the clamps. I believe a good set time is like 8hrs. It's best to let them cure as long as you can just to make sure of a good bond. Buy lots of clamps and use painters tape (3m Blue). I got my clamps at Harbor Freight, great prices. Well that is what I do........
  4. Man that belt is really flexible. To me it almost acts like it could be made out of latex like the hand guards.
  5. Aker and a Rom/FX......It's like this!!! -----------
  6. The rubber molding is the molding that comes in the DS case. It is actually the top part. All I did was pull it out and use it on the bottom. Lucky how the PC board and the size compartment are the same size as the partitions in the rubber. It just fit right in. No gluing nothing. It's held in by its size. I had to cut access hole in it for the plugs to be plugged from the out side. The bottom jack I just pushed in the recess that was already made in the rubber. All-in-all, I was amazed at how easy this worked out. For me it answered a problem I wanted to solve and that was to be able to use it in all of my armor. As far as the Pro wires go I really haven't used them yet and I'll figure something out. I might make a key pad that can be clipped on to my belt on the inside. When I get something together I'll post it here.
  7. Neat idea, post a Video it would be cool to see in action.
  8. Okay I got to looking around the net and looking for the needle in the hay stack and came up with these. Might not be 100% but man are they close? It took a little while to get a sample but I messed with one and tried the aging effect. Would any one really be interested in these. All in all unless you had the picture right next to them I think they could pass. I'll let you all decide. What say You?
  9. Thanks everyone. I will get to work on making up a build post soon. I probably have about $30 worth of parts. (Probably less) I hope to get out Trooping more soon. I really need to get some white armor going. I'll let you know how that is working out. I have a lot of plastic in Big Brown Boxes sitting in my garage. I just need to get some time to start slinging the E6000.
  10. Thanks guys, I was reading over at the MEPD a post that Woodman wrote about the weathering he did on his BFG. I thought I'd give it a try and as you can see the results aren't half bad. Just a little time some Basswood and PVC and Presto......BFG. (Close enough to scare a Jawa anyway! LOL!) I was thinking of a complete remake......would anyone be interested in a build post?
  11. I haven't used the Pro wires yet, but I do plan on running them down my left arm. I might have to extend the cables, but made it so the pro wires were on the left and the amp and mic are on the right. You could really just make it any configuration for your use. I just wanted a way to move it form one set of armor to the next. Velcro to the back armor and Aker amp clips to my thigh belt in the front. ( I ware my Thigh belt high ) Also you can really use these cases for just about anything. I was surprised that the inside rubber fit the Rom board perfectly. I took the top part out and used it on the bottom. It cushions the whole thing nicely and no rattling around.
  12. It sure does, just use velcro and I can use it with all my armor now.
  13. Finally got around to finishing the BFG and a proper paint job. Did the Rub-n-Buff with black acrylic wet wash. This is how it turned out. Before the first paint job, and how it can be taken apart to transport.
  14. Okay what we have here is my Rom/FX in a DS Lite case. I needed a way to get it all organized and I had the case laying around from my kids recent upgrade and I thought maybe it would all fit. Well it does. You could unsolder the connections and maybe make it a little neater. I didn't want to have to go through all the trouble. I know that Stukatrooper had made a topic with a Rom in a Box and that gave me a idea to try this. The plans are to use velcro and attach it to the back armor, then feed the cords to the front around my side to the Aker amp up front and the the cable for the mic to the helmet. Really pretty easy...........
  15. Just had a weird thing happen. Something about a SQL Server Error. Then when it finally went through I had a double post. Maybe it was just me.........Weird....
  16. I believe everyone here will tell you that you want to keep the lens flat. Although the bubble lens in the HERO Helmet looks neat, as Luke said. " I can't see a thing out of this helmet." Go with the stunt green flat lens and you will see just fine.
  17. If I'm reading this right I believe the dimensions are for the length only. You are only going through 2mm or less of plastic then webbing and a washer. The heads are the same for both sizes. Also by comparison on the fashion snaps (which is just to the left of the flower) head, it looks to be the same in size. 3/8"? then the rounded heads look to closer to 1/4". It is very close for sure. The basic design is still something you couldn't replicate. These are the closes I've seen to match. I can tell you one person who has the answer, we'll just have to wait and see if Paul TM would like to comment.
