  1. Hey good eye. Yes you are right some are gloss and some are flat. I took the idea from the ANH armor where there is different colors. I just substituted the gloss for the different colors. And thanks for the complement.
  2. Absolutly right. It does depend on the armor make. Mine is a FX and overlaped. I used e6000 and it worked great. After I glued it all together using a body dummy, (for fitting reason) I did my final trims to fit and funtion of movement. Other than slight mods and closing the side gaps, it's pretty much FX except for the lid.
  3. Ya Jon, I do plan on being there. I've got some stuff to do yet, but I got your back man. No Problem!
  4. Hey thanks for upping this older post. I've been busy with the holidays and work. ( I know everyone can relate) I do plan posting some more stuff just need to get around to it.
  5. I use the ones that Wally sells. I believe they are made by Rockey. (2 piece) They work good but the one thing I have notice is that with my TX suit the black isn't black enough. They haven't faded they just aren't as black as maybe could be. Now put them under some TK armor and they look fine. I know there isn't many TX running around here but, has anyone found a really black, black under suit?
  6. Got mine in the mail too. Great way to start a NEW YEAR Thanks!
  7. Fantastic news. Perfect way to start a NEW YEAR.
  8. Okay, So are you saying I can try for EIB? If so how, what do I need to submit and where. This would be awesome!
  9. 2009 was a great step for me into the world of the 501st. Thanks to everyone here at the FISD. 2010 here we come! Happy New Year to all my Brothers in Armor!
  10. thanks for taking the time to put this all together and thanks to everyone for making the how-to tutorials.
  11. Or if you have the tools and some time just make your own. I'm still messing around finishing up mine. Made with Basswood and PVC.
  12. My Armor started out as a FX but put some time in and made some improvements. This lid is a TE2. I have a ATA and need to get it finished to see how it looks with the armor. MG34 is a home built, bass wood and pvc pipe. I'll post some build pics later if anyone would be interested. Troopers helping Troopers is what it is all about and this is the place for that.
  13. I would love to be considered for EIB status. When I was going through my build I used the EIB as reference and just made everything black. My goal was to be a ANH just all black. I did some small posting of the the build but if need be I'd be willing to start a new thread here. (Actually that is what I was thinking of doing anyway) In my mind as long as your armor would be to the EIB status just black that would work. What do you guys think? I've posted over at the Spec Ops but there just isn't much input. Everyone here has been very helpful as I've put together the TX. I will try to get some pictures more organized and post up here when I can get some time after the Holidays. Oh and here is something I just put together. Thought is would be awesome for the TX.
  14. Hey, This is awesome, sorry I missed the addition of this new section. Thanks for giving us TX guys a new home. I will do my best to add some new info here as soon as I get the chance. Like everyone else I've been very busy with the Holidays, but I have added some things to the Old TX. Hope everyone is a having a great Holiday. Like I always say, Paint it Black
  15. Hope your having a Great Holiday!
  16. Very enjoyable movie. I'm going to try and see it again. There is just so much going on. Impressive...........my 2 cents.
  17. Like Dark said Check out the 501st special ops detachment. However this is the place to get the general advice, Black or White the Trooper Armor is the same.
  18. Great Helmet. Awesome pictures, I'm looking forward to the St. Louis show. Your TK looks great by the way.
  19. I was trying to get 9988 my first choice. Just sounded cool for a TX I thought. My numbers are the year of my first car, 64 and my birth year 65. Just call me TX six four six five. happy to be accepted.
  20. I looked on the 501 website and stumbled across black special ops troopers, they looked cool !! Cheers !!! I agree the TX are cool. I'm still working on my TK though, and ANH is what it will be. Good luck and have fun, this is the place to find all the help you need.
  21. *Factoid: In the earlier scripts from Lucas, it was actually listed at "TX", not TK Maybe that had something to do with Lucus and the whole THX thing. TX-6465 reporting in by the way............
  22. Same here, Black and Decker variable speed and all attachments seem to work so far that I've used just fine. I've had it for some time and use the crap out of it. Got mine at Wally.
