  1. I plan on using the e6000. I've been messing with it, and I'm amazed at how flexible and strong the hold is. I got mine at Wally you might also check Hobby Lobby or other craft stores.
  2. Could I ask how long has your armor been together. Is it holding up as expected?
  3. Once again the FISD to the rescue. Thanks everyone. I'll be getting some new velcro before I start.
  4. What do you guys think about E6000 on HIPS? I've never used this stuff but I'm willing to give it a go. A wealth of information thanks for all the opinions.
  5. What about the velcro on rolls that came with my FX kit? Is this stuff strong enough? I was going to use it on the open sides opposite of where I glued. (forarms and thighs) I plan on doing the rest with the snap system.
  6. I'm not 100% sure on The Docs. I read somewhere they where out there and found this link. I'm sure someone has more info. I'm still on the hunt also for affordable boots. Hoping CABoots will get back to making my size in the future. (9.5-10)
  7. Here are some I've been looking at. -------
  8. Okay everyone, I'm at the stage where I need to glue my armor together. (TX black ABS FX ). What should I use. I've looked all over this site and others there seems to be different opinions. So help a newbie out and tell me what will last, hold up to trooping. So far I've heard of: Plastic Weld E6000 Super Glue.. Gel ABS 2771 5 Minute epoxy ( Clear or Opaque ? not sure of the difference other than color ) J B Weld Any others? Plan on clam shelling the parts with velcro on the other sides. I want to get it right the first time. Ya know what I mean. Thanks in advance.
  9. As I'm new to trooping I find myself in need of some of these hard to find style boots. Right now with my TX black would be perfect. I still plan on a TK later. The deal is, is there another source for these other than CA boots, or should I rush to buy before they are sold out. Cheaper is better, but I still want to stay canon. Any info? Could someone point the way.
  10. Still trying to get the hang of posting......... Thanks for the info................so if anyone has any better options, send me a PM. For what I've seen MRCE going for on the Bay I could recover some of the cost on a better piece. I would like to find one that is pulled in black shiney plastic. Or I can still find one and paint it. (My first option). I have been checking the FISD out for sometime and I'm glad I found you all. Thanks for all the help in advance and I'm looking forward to contributing more.
  11. Hi all, first post. I was on the Bay and saw a TX helmet for sale by piratetrooper. (160 shipped) Anyone deal with this person before? Or know the quality of product? I'm looking into upgradging my FX TX to a better helmet. I have a MRCE that I was going to modify. But the price on the bay isn't far from what I'll have in the MRCE. I'm sure you all have more expereince and knowledge. So feel free to enlighten me. Is the price right? Is there another route to take? Any info much appreciated before I make a mistake. I'm getting ready to start on the FX TX, I just dont like FX helmets. Thanks again, and keep on TROOPING. Oh......the Obievon thing is my dogs name.............He's such a goood boy!
