  1. Id go easy on weathering/aging. It looks great now and I think the idealized helmets looks great in a perfect paintjob.
  2. Well done! You captured the idealized look nicely! I might have considered black mesh. I think it should be ok for 501st.
  3. Oh Yeah!!! That was a cool clip. I dont care to much about the SE suits being ROTJ based. A good way to point out armor evolution to the kids. Actually if Star Wars were real, why couldnt there be parallell armor versions btw? Like the hero/stunt versions.
  4. Here a link to my TIE conversion. The Interceptor can be made to look great, but it needs some work... http://www.therpf.com/showthread.php?t=71961
  5. Im fairly sure there were two versions. One with buttons on the back. One with a squareish box (Hmmm not sure but was it a cigarette box?)
  6. Thanks Noel! Except proper green acetate for lenses, Ive got the interior done. I snap a few later on and post.
  7. I can definately see myself getting one and mod it close to the studio models. I did it to the Hasbro TIE and it was really fun! Heres a guy that made some great mods to his chicken: http://www.therpf.com/showthread.php?t=71959
  8. Sure! Upload the pic to a image hosting place such as www.imageshack.us When ure done you get links <a href="http://shannynmoore.files.wordpress.com/20...er-arrested.jpg" target="_blank">http://shannynmoore.files.wordpress.com/20...er-arrested.jpg</a> Write Hope that helps.
  9. Beautyful pic ya! So what is the screw then?
  10. Couldnt you buy a pair, and have the chance to do both the one legged look (that I think is cool) and a two legged?
  11. High Impact Polystyrene is HIPS. Same as TE2 and ATA.
  12. Thats really sux! I feel bad for you planning it to be a gift and all!
  13. When I built my helmet, I left about 1 cm outside the lines, and try fit, took some away, try fit... you get the idea. Another tip is to look through reference photo and check the films again. It will help when how to trim and assemble. The helmets are very different and have their own small differents in assembly and details.
  14. Yeah, and relax the original stunt helmets had very messy paint jobs. If you are going for a Hero look then both helmet and armor were ABS. The stunt had the same ABS suits with HDPE helmets. It sound like a good idea to try the ATA if you arent gonna abuse it.
  15. Thats the thing I was thinking too! And that is a great looking hero!
  16. Im no expert, but I thought the thin hovimic area were because you need the faceplate to be thin to get sharp, nice details, and the deep area there will get thin.
  17. Im pretty wide in SW, liking books, models, collectibles, and I can honestly say I havent noticed anything getting worse. On the contrary the kits, figures and toys are miles better today compaired to the earlyer days. I may have missunderstod, but didnt Nathan mean the fan made stuff?
  18. Hi Michael. Hope everything is well with you! I have yet to find better pics than here (like AJCG already suggested): ----- I hope you find what you seek.
  19. Great news! Sign me up for one please! Signed would be nice.
  20. They appear very close in size on that pic.
  21. It turned out awesome! And the eyes look perfect. I love this pic:
