  1. Yep totally fine and too be expected The hero helmets were made from ABS but the stunts from HDPE This behaves differently to ABS and is more elastic, so you see more of the little bumps etc. HIPS is much the same, it will seek out all the detail. The thinner the plastic, the more detailed the end result will be. We're not sure if a new mould was used in 76 for the later ABS heroes or not, (ears yes) but the different plastic explains why they don't look identical, regardless. But as Dash said, it's fine just thought you'd like a quick lesson in plastics Edit: ah sorry. I couldnt see the pic cos of my iPhone. That's a bad mould an the owner should brush that up I feel. 5 minutes work
  2. Well done matey! Pleasure to help out dude, pleasure Looking forward to seeing you at a troop so my advice is, if you haven't got one already, get a RomFX or something ad it almost trebled the fun to be had
  3. Balls! Yeah I may have I did notice during building that there only 3 unique parts and 2 were repeated. PM inbound
  4. Yeah it does. Doesn't help that the BFA kit is 2 right legs. I think AP is the same right? So have have folks with AP solved this?
  5. I'm a 30" inside leg. I'm using BFA armour. Despite me cuting a chunk out of the lower lip on the thigh, and a slice off the upper calf lip AND a chunk off the lower calf ankle, I get these beauties I think the main trouble is my upper thigh is possibly too short for TE style armour. Can I cut more away maybe? Here are my legs full on So, having a look at what I've done, is there anywhere I can make these more comfortable and able to walk in them please? Many thanks John
  6. Scope rail is all over the shop with them....? Henglster is too high Don't like the shoulder mount assembly bar either
  7. I decided on the control room scene blaster Luke has I finished this baby up today It's my ANH hyperfirm, ripped apart, T track changed to SaberFreak. Hengster taken off. My own scope rail Brass painted nuts glued underneath rail Finished all the traps on my GF All hand painted. I've found a tool called a draftsman bow pen and also a great paint pen called a Uni POSCA pen Great for the trap edges etc. I just used Electrical insulation tape and a ruler on the rear traps what do you think? Look a little too hand painted or just right?
  8. I tried the fan/window idea, thanks. Thing is the rivet was too heavy and had too small a surface area to be really affected by the fans flow That was a silly idea! Brad idea was much better
  9. Ok thanks lads Sounds like brute force is the way. I was hoping someone would say you need a 'bifurictional splay tool thingie, ƂĀ£7.99 from odd tool supplier' Hammer and chisel it is lol
  10. Try squeezing the long sides of the grey box in the middle There maybe shallow sloped tabs on there that clip in..... I think
  11. I'll give it go Yes, bifurcated rivets. My legs are quite thick and would take a lot of force to splay flat I think mine are meant to curve and not go totally flat...? The legs do travel upto about 2mm from the head mind, so they should splay ok I guess
  12. Good news matey Im just modding my TM arms Luckily one side is butt plated, the other isn't So maybe you could recreate the ANH look by chopping an inch offf that way
  13. I've been over to Rickys house (troopervenger) to help him out, yes. He lives not too far from me but I've been flat out of late. I have a spare set of arms. 2 actually Maybe even 3 lol
  14. Looking sweet! I hope you're taking plenty of pics for us
  15. Looking good but the rear of your left shoulder bell needs trimming You can see the mould line I think...? Good luck
  16. Cheers Gary The ones I have are too strong to be bent with a knife I'm sure I'll try later though John
  17. Hello folks! Topic says it all really Is there a special tool to make the legs splay out or do you use a screwdriver or something? Ta John
  18. That's kind of what's it there for tbh It will even out any scratch crack or dent on the surfaceand also provide a bondable surface for your spray paint Wet sand it baby
  19. If you score it and bend with heat yes you can Point is, on the inside you can clearly see some rivet thing We just can't from the outside so it's debatable Most of us have already riveted out ammo pack and if I'm honest, this is where the reluctance to say they weren't riveted was coming from (I'm too cynical ) But fact is, yes they had something there
  20. Yeah thats True Mark, very good point. I got mine down with a heat gun and glue. I'll add the rivets then For all we know it could have a curved shape, just like shoulder straps. But yes, I agree there are little rivets inside the Si thigh. So I guess they must have used them
  21. Looking sweet Take your time and always double check
  22. Not off topic at all It's clearly not a pin rivet in the standard sense It looks like an eyelet type design (one that flattens out the other side) but one that's got a solid head....? Never seen them before Almost like the flat things you get on jeans, but they have a hook inside them that twists onto the back
  23. Well the instant he starts pulling them from his new mould then BANG goes any claim he ever makes that's pulled from the original moulds If his claims weren't flakey enough he's now showing the world on FB he's making new moulds What would be a judges stance on that? Is he simple? I could understand if he were taking a cast from his original mould. But he's not Here, he's showing us that he's constructing a new mould. Why?
