ESB TK WIP - UKG - first build - hoping for centurian
TKSpartan replied to CallMeMrTibbles's topic in ESB Build Threads
Hi Richard, What I usually do to fit the thighs is to adjust both sides to the center and keeping aligned with the front cover strips too. In your case, If the bottom section feels good, just adjust the upper part as shown . Try first as you did in the last photos you posted. I should do this -

ESB TK WIP - UKG - first build - hoping for centurian
TKSpartan replied to CallMeMrTibbles's topic in ESB Build Threads
Hi Richard, If I can make a suggestion . Consider a clamps change so you can apply less pressure and if possible use more clamps to have an uniform pressure to the sniper knee. As we say here, "You never have enough clamps and magnets" Here you can see what I usually do to attach the sniper knee. 48 or more hours later Keep on doing a great work !! -
Congratulations!!!

TK-91882 Requesting ANH Stunt EIB Status (1021)
TKSpartan replied to semperfi108's topic in Request Expert Infantry Status
Hi John, and thank you for your EIB application! CRL and EIB Application Requirements: All required photos have been submitted, and on behalf of the entire D.O. staff we are pleased to welcome you to the rank of Expert Infantry. Congratulations! Other-Armor Fit/Assembly; In this area we review observations made by your fellow troopers and the DO team. Some observations may lead to suggestions to improve the overall look of your armour. Note that we consider both text (CRL) and pictures (screen caps/reference images) when reviewing submissions. RS is a great set of armor John, but there's always something that can be improved to get the best look you can. So let start your review brother. Starting from top. Your helmet looks a little higher than references, you may want to check if you can remove some padding from top to allow it to go lower. In may case I made the same and it worked well. Reference Image In most of the ANH Stunts seeing on screen, the Brow trim goes a bit high than yours. If you want to keep this Ep4 look, we are suggesting to rise it up a bit. Reference Images The brow trim usually ends near the end of the trap, we suggest to trim a bit. Reference Images Following, this is something we suggest only for trooping reasons , not for screen accuracy. Most troopers add some sort of black cloth or mesh behind the helmet teeth in order to prevent people at troops from seeing our faces as stated in the CRL . This is a suggestion to preserve that movie magic everybody loves. Reference Images It looks like your E11 blaster has a bit excess of wire , most blaster seen on screen doesn't have them at all, but when present it's less in amount. Reference Images Finally in this section. CRL L2: Thigh ammo belt is attached to thigh with a solid head rivet, painted white, in the upper corner and fastened to the lower thigh ridge. The rivets used shall be single cap, double cap or split rivets. No pop rivets allowed. Rivet should be approximately 5/16" (8mm) in diameter (exterior). The rivets holding on your ammo knee pack are quite close to the corner and looks like they are bigger than the "ideal" diameter of 5/16". Not the biggest of deals, but something to be aware of. Reference Images *************************************************** Centurion Requirements; In this section we prepare you for Centurion. Because Centurion photos show more detail than EIB, items pertaining to Centurion might be seen there and not here and additional photos may be required. We try to point out all that we can from what we see, but the final accuracy is the responsibility of the trooper. Centurion level is all about details Trooper, and we consider not only the CRL but also the screen reference images to reach the highest level of accuracy. CRL L3: There should be a minimal gap between the shoulder armor and the chest/back plates. In your case, the left side is perfect, but for the right one shortening the shoulder strap a bit could reduce the gap. Reference Images CRL L3: A single male snap on the top right corner of the ab plate is present. Your 'Han' snap is present, but also positioned farther away from the edge than the reference images . You will need to drill out the snap, reposition it, and fill the old hole. Reference Images CRL L3: Three rivets, approximately 5/16"(8mm) diameter, are present on the left side of the abdomen armor. Rivets are equally spaced along the depth of the armor and about 10mm from the edge Eve though yours are present, the positioning is off compared to the screen-used suits in references. You'll need to remove the rivets, drill new holes, and fill the old ones with ABS Paste. It looks like a lot of work , but it can definitely be done. Reference Images CRL L3: The top of the ABS ammo belt should sit at or just above the bottom of the central and vertical abdomen button panels. One popular and easy fix to this is to add a piece of Velcro to the belt and AB plate to keep it in place . Reference Images CRL L3: The corners of the plastic ammo belt shall be trimmed at a 45 degree angle that that meets the outer edge of the cloth belt. This is going to be a real challenging one. As required in the CRL for Centurion level , the 45 degree corners on the ends of the ABS ammo belt must meet up with the edges of the cloth belt. In yours, the lower section of the canvas is riding lower and doesn't meet the plastic edge correctly and as you can see the square buttons should go a bit far from the edge too. A possible solution that comes to my mind, If it was my case, would be to do some sewing work, trim the bottom edge of the canvas and make a new edge that match the plastic corner. For the Squared buttons, I would reposition them a bit mm far from the edge . Reference Images CRL L3: Drop boxes are vertically aligned with the end of the ammo belt with minimal gap between belt and box. This is a common issue and an easy one to fix. Moving them outward and then applying a dab of E-6000 on the rear of the strap will take care of this and keep it from wandering. Reference Images Moving on to your thighs back, You have a small gap in the ridges where the back of the thighs meet. You could fill that gap with ABS paste, or as alternate solution, you can also just back it with a small square of ABS so that the black doesn't show through. Reference Images CRL L3: Sniper knee plate must be aligned with the ridges on the shin. As you can see , the sniper knee is a bit lower (red lines) and should go aligned with the shin (blue lines). To fix that, It would be necessary to take it off and re-glue it higher to match the ridges correctly. Reference Images Certainly, we have a challenge here but we are confident that you can do it John and here in the FISD you can find all the support and guidance you need to achieve this next goal. We are here to help. Congratulations again Trooper!!
