  1. Wow you’ve got some patience. Can’t wait to see the build. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. Just a basic no name one from amazon Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. No good ever come from purchasing armor from eBay. That’s a big NOTHING. Red flags are the pictures aren’t that good which means he’s hiding something. It’s fiberglass which is a pain to work with and you can’t easily fit it to your body after it’s already put together. It’s $250 when most armor is closer to the $700 range and above. Have a look at the vetted vendors section and start there. If it’s too good to be true it is. Hopefully your not the one that bought it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. Have we ever stopped to wonder “who is Justjoseph63?” Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. I spoke to the guy when it ended. He said it’s too much hassle and not worth the time. Too many people complained, then when the delivery service broke things he ended up having to put out the replacement money, and he just doesn’t have the time to do it anymore. So I guess we need to find someone new to do it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  7. Cut your ears off Seriously it’s hard to tell how much padding is in there but can some be removed? I installed a hard hat insert which might give you some more room. I’ve got 2 fans and a lipstick battery pack and it’s tight in there. I’d say go the route I did and get a Bluetooth mic with an Aker amp but you already have a ton of money invested in everything so that’s not an option. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. But what screws do we have to use to secure it? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. As for the blaster I’d say start with no sounds. If you want to upgrade in future years you can but in an effort to save money I went basic on this. Amp system- I think most people use Aker. I have an Aker amp, Bluetooth mic, and an Icomm for the clicks. As for fans- there are some for sale here and on various sites. I have two Henry’s helmet fans and I personally have trooped without them and my lenses fogged like crazy so I think they are a necessity. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. I thought it was official by now Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. You only get $80 a week to eat and you want to buy armor? I’d wait it out. Get connected with the garrison, help with some events to make sure it’s what you want to do and watch the sale ads here. You can get some good deals on used armor people either don’t wear anymore or never finished. And on top of that someone might be doing a May 4th sale, anything is possible. 12. Honestly I’d say hold off on anything. I enjoy doing this but I did it when I had the money to do it. Your still looking at other things you’ll want/need. This is fun and cool but not worth eating noodles instead of something good. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. PayPal isn’t as great as you think it is. Don’t rely on “Being on PayPal” as a “he must be good”. Again he may be just fine, I’ve got no experience with him, it’s your call on what to do. No matter what you buy, you’ll need some help either building or re-strapping to get a better fit. Nobody here is around to tell you that you did anything wrong we will all be willing to give advice to help you get to any level of TK you wish. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. Ultimately you can do what you want with your money we are here to help. With a bit of research of the owner of the Etsy page I came up with this thread. https://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/41455-good-armor-and-a-bad-rep/ If you don’t feel like reading the whole thing here is the statement from our admin back in 2017. Sometimes people change, but do you want to bet $1658 that he’s changed his ways? I’ve made questionable purchases before one is actually posted around here somewhere. But I’m not willing to take that chance. Vetted sellers are that for a reason. They come on the forums and are active in helping people with their armor. I’m not sure if those are the only two choices you have cause of where you live but there are other vetted makers which have less questions surrounding them. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. I’m gonna agree with the it’s generally easier then expected. I was worried, took the first piece slow and was fine after that. It’s time consuming but I personally think it’s worth it and fun. It’s an accomplishment. Just take it easy, slow and steady it’s not a race. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. For that amount of money you can get a vetted seller like everyone has said. Reach out to your garrison and see if they have any armor parties going on where you can get a hand. If all else fails check the sale ads and see if there are any suited for you body. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. For what it’s worth you probably just summed up the problems with this forum (well most forums). It’s gets tiresome reading the back and forth. They all have valid points but most people just give up cause it seems harder then it actually is. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. Nice work. What maker is this? I’m not sure if I missed it somewhere. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. I agree about the too much info statement. There is a lot but most of it is based on different peoples armor and how to build that specific armor. Basically if your not joining the 501st you can build what you want. The 501st has a set of standards they like to uphold due to closely working with LFL and now of course Disney. I personally built my own armor which was bought from AM. In the end I was happy I did build it because my body size isn’t average so I was able to get a better fit plus there is a satisfaction most people get from building something and being able to say I built that when someone comments on how cool it is. I don’t know much about SDS armor and I’m sure people will chime in but I looked at the site pics quickly and it looks like a few things would need to be changed to join the 501st. Again if that’s not your plan your fine. I’d recommend when you get home and unbox it. Start a thread in the build thread section with pics and we can help you out with anything that’s needed if you do decided to join the 501st. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. Got mine from Darmans props on Etsy. It’s a solid holster. I’ve had it a year but I think it’ll hold up. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. That does look a bit small. If you push the sides in as if it were secured would that help round it out? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. I didn’t do it to my AM helmet but I assume a real light scuff wouldn’t hurt if you wanted to. I used the brush on and it stuck very well. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. Do you have a specific concern? Or just in general? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  24. Making great progress! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
