This seam that is
-
Ta help orient the seam were I want it (inside) I’m gonna put some glue to hold it in place to make the sewing easier - atleast I think it will (could use needles but naaah)
-
Checking were to place the gaskets Think I have found the spot for it
-
But....wouldn’t that be a hick-up for Centurion were you would need rubber gaskets? Absolutely true - I will get another undersuit If I reach Expert Infantry
-
Decided to sew the gaskets to the undersuit And in order to stop me to change my mind I went a head and cut the strapping of No going back...well I could always sew them back on but that would be a failure and the First Order doesn’t do failure Gonna remove the velcro for the thigh pieces (top velcro) as they are no longer needed and it will make the gaskets a hair longer which is only a good thing, going to leave the others for now although I’m not sure I will have use for all, and for removing the velcro I choose a red cutter because...you know...the First Order...?

Looks great

Shoulders done and in case anyone else will be downsizing it’s pretty quick to just sew the new measurement and then cut the extra material afterwards so there’s no need to remove any stiching
-
HA! Of course I take care of business Frank but as it’s Friday I gave her a bun....figured it was appropriate...you know...that princess...
-
Spending friday night with the sewing machine nothing wrong with the gaskets but I wanted them more snug and taper more so some sewing was in order, thighs are done and currently working on the elbow gaskets and left one is finished. Didn’t take any before shots but there were a lot of wrinkles when trying the armor on, again nothing wrong with the sizeing from Theresa(geekypinks) but I’m bigger than average so can’t have much space beteeen limbs and armor unless I want to look like a cube so had to Keep the armor relatively tight although I would prefer not to. Anyways happy with the outcome and contemplating sewing the gaskets onto the undersuit but haven’t decided yet

I simulated opening and closing the biceps repeatedly and no cracks but decided to glue them just the same = no worries over cracks

MandalorianHelm First TK Build (AP)
TheSwede replied to MandalorianHelm's topic in ANH Build Threads
I’m at a lost on that one I’m afraid, only tryed the loctite and as worked like a charm I didn’t explore other alternatives. Mayby someone else can chime in but I know Mike from Trooperbay uses zap-a-gap or atleast did before -
Congratulations Trooper Get that Expert Infantryman app in

MandalorianHelm First TK Build (AP)
TheSwede replied to MandalorianHelm's topic in ANH Build Threads
Loctite super glue, the key is to use only a very small amount, I glued them on while wearing the glove, put a tiny bit of glue in the center of the handguard and then presed it on the glove. When it had set I simply went over were the glove haden’t stuck with very small dabs of glue untill I was happy -

I would try and not go over 25 for the back of thigh, you can glue the back with a gap and strenghten it with a wider inner stip....meaning if you have a strip of 25 you glue 10mm on each end leaving a 5mm gap thus making the thigh a bit bigger, sometimes it`s those small changes that makes all the difference and the gap at the lower ridge you just fill in with abs scrap and paste (unless you choose to cut for mobility) You can also go smaller on the area that gets glued if necesarry, the 10mm was just a suggestion. -
Paul has made a truly beautiful set of armor

Then show us There`s no such thing as to many pics

NoZoupForYou’s Stunt TK Build (Anovos)
TheSwede replied to NoZoupForYou's topic in Build Threads Requireing Maintenance
That`s an easy fix - just glue some abs on the inside and then put some abs-paste from the outside and you don`t have to be to concerned with sanding as it will be fine just evening it out with just your finger, and it`s screen accurate You also might want to check your left cover strip as it looks to be sticking out at the top. Have a great time at the armor party -

In regards to the pic it’s a no! (Unless I don’t get what you mean) that’s only were to start cutting from that end, you will have to see how much to cut on the elbow end too....when you have made the sizing you will probably have an overlap and you mark the center on the part that goes over and the part that goes under on one end (wrist) then repeat for the other end of the armor part (elbow) then draw a line between the marks on both pieces (outer/inner half). the reason for trimming the back is because the armor has ridges molded in on the front and you will want to Keep those in order to look like the Troopers seen on screen. You should aim for the same size cover strips front and back even though most look at you from the front the back need to look the part as well. On screen accurate biceps there are no ridges so on those you trim equally from both halves/sides. Taper means that the piece is bigger on one end and then gradualy gets smaller/narrower. The forearm as an example is bigger at the elbow and smaller at the wrist, you don’t want it to be a square block on your arm, same goes for all the limbs, simply put the armor should follow the contour of the body And return edge, I would leave some on the outside half of the forearm and lower bicep as it gives the armor an illusion of thickess. And by some I mean a few mm. I start with roughly 5-7 mm and then trim it down to my liking in terms of fit, look and comfort. Just don’t be to quick to shave all of it off before testing how you like it - only place you do right of the bat is the wrist and bottom of shins And - I would recommend checking out the approved Centurions in the advanced tactics section to see how it can look like when finished and it will help you on your build

And it looks great Great work on that other stuff to
