The ones in Anaheim had the seams down the back. In the filming, they could have changed position depending on the shot. ...my best guess. BTW, I just installed a set of rubber gaskets in a set of anvos . If you build your gaskets just a hair bigger than the armor, the biceps and arms will lock into place and not move. Then just slide the biceps and arms on and buckle at the chest. Same with the legs; When you store the armor, just turn them inside out, inside the thigh to store them safely. Cheers, Todd.

HOWTO: Magnetic Plug and Socket. No more velcro.
TK4205 replied to TK4205's topic in TFA Stormtrooper
To which part are you referring? I used E6000 to stick the magnets to the plastic and CA glue to attach the socket to the armor. The socket has a magnet on the back, with E6000. -
I'm starting my own thread for bald troopers.

This is the backing for the ribbed belt material.

It's set to public. I logged out and was able to see it. Try again.

You can see a big difference in closed cell foam when compared to neoprene. Neoprene also costs much more than closed cell.

That's awesome. Good boy!

Could be from any FB group or the RPF. I got it second hand, maybe third hand. However as written it indicated that we were passing some of our customers off. That's not the case. I spoke with Jim some time ago and I am aware he is doing his own gaskets, so no worries there. I don't have a FB account. I miss a lot.

It's always a pleasure to help a fellow trooper. For over a decade I've considered the legion my extended family. At the risk of sounding cliche, get well soon.

I just heard about this last night. I don't have direct access to the "secret" FB group. No one has been in contact with us for any type of coordination together. We have taken no up front money from anyone, so we are not worried about fulfilling an obligation. I assume our customers will remain on our wait list, however they are not bound. I would appreciate an email from our customers if they drop off of our list, so we're not waiting for them to pay. I don't know if the alternative is comfortable and breathable, but our customers would be wise to remain on our list. It took a moment for the Mrs. to process this. I know that she simply can't sew that many gaskets that soon no matter how hard she tries. The fact is that it is just simple sewing and right now there is more demand than supply. It's our passion more than it is a business. I'm just happy that you guys are keeping me busy doing what I love.

White spray paint for ATA armor.
TK4205 replied to Harrt046's topic in Hard Armor (General Discussion)
Did you use Rustoleum? If so, you should use it again to avoid a bad reaction. I suggest rubbing it down with vinegar first. Next time use Krylon. -
Pictures? I would like to compare to I.G.. Many Bothans died bringing me this information.

Question about imperial gaskets arms fitment.
TK4205 replied to rhapsodyred99's topic in TFA Stormtrooper
After trying a few different methods, I find that cutting them up and attaching to the armor is the best way to go. Velcro sticks to the rubber permanently, so be careful when positioning your velcro. I also like this method because there is no since carrying more weight than you need to. Someone asked me if snaps work, but I wouldn't try it. They would just pull out. -

I use a dremmel and a small sanding barrel. I use a large sanding barrel to dremmel it round. The round magnets work best. I will be offering up a kit shortly. I just have to figure out a price first. -
I think the question is to show up as a non approved member in a non approved costume to a garrison showing. That's not good without prmission. It's a free country; you can pretty much dress how you want and go where you want. Just keep in mind that you want to troop with your garrison and get along with them at some point. Public events, like conventions or where multiple genre dress up is fine. Even then, 501st members may stare and wonder who you are.
-
I suggest contacting and meeting up with your local garrison. There are public events that need volunteers and spotters at times. I have seen a lot of minors attending events with a 501st "chaperon". I've taken my own kids to event and even friends of my children. It mostly depends on your garrison.

How do you tell? To me it look too clean and new looking to be an old used piece of equipment. But I'm no Jedi.

You might also send a picture to Parks and ask if it's one of his.
-
I have a droid caller that I thought was legit, but It's most likely Parks. If it feels new, with sharp edges, it's most likely a reproduction. I read that Parks bought and resurrected Graflex, won a lawsuit as a defendant against LFL and has been making graflex parts ever since. It's still a nice looking piece and worthhaving, depending on your cost in this trade. Good luck.

Haters gonna hate and lovers are gonna love. I'm not going to take anything personal. We all have a right to our opinion. Being partial to a particular kit, be it ANH, ESB, ROTJ, or TFA does not make you a Nazi or any of the other nasty terms that some people like to use. Imagine if ROTJ came out just this year; would we be happy with those new troopers? I know I wouldn't. I would be stuck on my ANH and you couldn't convince me any different. But I know some people like the look of the ROTJ troopers and that's quite alright. We don't need to call names or belittle people because of it. I give more thought to the direction this hobby is going and where we fit in to it now that it's changing. This is a time when we should be most united.
