  1. two small jars at the most. I might be able to send you some if you email me.
  2. This was freshly sprayed. It will tone down when it dries and look like the one in the top post. And thanks. I think you'll like it.
  3. Sorry for the crappy pictures. It's the best I can do on my craptop.
  4. I found a color match, with the help of two interior designers, two professional painters (three counting myself), my buddy at the paint store and we all agreed, based on all reference available, that the best match is Glidden DUO BASE #GLB3013 "Old Glory Red". Reference used was toys, screen shots, advertising and box tops. It also happens to be the same color in our FOTK challenge coin. I love the name Old Glory, though the name had nothing to do with the choice. I found that out on my printout. I tinted my own home brew paint because I have a buddy at the paint shop. You can find a color swatch at home depot, walmart, or wherever Gidden is sold. Here is a color test. It's sloppy and uneven. It's just a test to see if my product will work. Not sure how this looks on your screen, but this color rocks.
  5. Here is my prototype. The picture does not do it justice.
  6. Let us take a look at it tonight. We may have something that will work.
  7. If you are doing a run, count me interested.
  8. I think I understood you, and considered your remark as hypothetical only.I didn't think you were really going to call the mouse.
  9. If I called anyone to complain, it would be the company that I bought the kit from. If I bought a rotten can of stiormtrooper yogurt, I would be contacting Yoplait, or the grocery store that I bought it from, not Disney. I had some stormtrooper yogurt just the other day. It was quite tasty with the Yoda cookies.
  10. That's the same argument I've heard about the Rubies Vader and stormtrooper. Just because something is licensed does not mean it's accurate. In fact, it has been my experience that "licensed" correlates "inaccurate". They will tell you that they have no say in what a costume club requires and that they do not make the rules here at the FISD. But we are really getting ahead of ourselves here. Lets wait until this kit is built and submitted for approval.
  11. "Could change". I didn't say "should". The "how" would be up to administration.
  12. No kit is 501st complaint, no matter who makes it. I've seen the most "accurate kits" built wrong and denied for membership, EIB and centurion. All you can do is purchase, build and submit. At this time there are no restrictions regarding this new kit from anovos, but that could change with time.
  13. I'm not excited by this photo, but I will reserve judgement until I hold one.
  14. Same. I thought it was my machine.
  15. You will also want to rethink your glue. Back when I was building TE/TE2 CAP styrene kits, I found that Testors (red tube) model cement works great with styrene. After all, our plastic model kits are made from the same stuff. It fills and sands very nicely. Have fun!
  16. Contrary to some belief, HIPS and ABS, though both are types of styrene plastic, they are very different from one another. As stated many times, HIPS needs to be painted, where ABS (should be) is white, glossy and doesn't need paining. ABS is more durable, but does yellow over time. HIPS makes a nice kit in that it captures more detail than ABS. ABS also costs quite a bit more than HIPS, so your styrene kit should cost less.
  17. I heard SKITTLES, from a different reliable source. ...now I don't know what to believe.
  18. If I had a dime for every guy that came along and said he was in the know... They come and go.
  19. "I want proof!, not leads"
  20. They recommend "Velcro" on their web page. I had wondered why they were pushing Rustolium, the worst paint to use. I guess that would explain it.
  21. After acquiring new reference, I am redrawing my pattern. I should have my prototype posted up in a few days. I think the texture is an exact match, but I'll let Camp tell us what he thinks. I've seen a few hi res shots and I'm not finding sewn together parts like we see in the originals. Anybody got any ideas of what they used?
