  1. Hey awesome video! Question; You mentioned in your video that the helmet was cast from a screen used helmet and an exact copy. Where did you hear that?
  2. I've got rolls of the stuff cut into 46" length. Check it out here: http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/33913-fotk-belts/
  3. Rustolium cracks. I would normaly use Krylon, but resin wont take that very well. I would finish it with a paint designed for bumpers. I'd start looking at the auto parts store.
  4. I'll take you up on that. If Kevin sends me one as well, I will compare, video tape and then send them back or donate them to our local charity.
  5. I recall seeing some pictures somewhere of MDF bucks. Are those yours? I concur with Pandatrooper; It's not economically feasible to scan a kit for C&C. More work would be involved cleaning it up than drawing it anew. Now had it been drawn first, it would not match up with yours. Once someone holds them side by side, we will know for certain. We always do
  6. Vern, you're right man. The best thing I think, is for you to just turn yourself in to the authorities.
  7. If it were me, I'd do business with a legion member first. In fact, if I were in charge of this outfit, those that are just here to market us, I would send packing.
  8. I use 1/16" styrene. If you paypal $10 to ImperilGskets@gmil.com I will send you enough to do this mod.
  9. Are you saying that this guy is not using aluminum molds, as he has told us? Or that he may have 3D scanned your armor? I must admit, I can't tell from the guys photos what reference he used. Good luck to you in all of this.
  10. I respect your opinion. ...but I think the majority here frowns on someone recasting someone elses work. It has nothing to do with who owns the ip. It has to with sportsmanship. What I find interesting is the irony; Disney, the biggest ip thief in history.
  11. Regardless; If I walk in a bank with the intent on robbing it and there's already a bank-robber there robbing the place, I'm going to show some respect to my fellow bank-robber and go find another bank. or a credit union. Show some integrity no matter what you do in life.
  12. I wouldn't recommend this brand but Super-magnet brand is what home depot carries. They seem to be OK and you can get about every shape and size here------------
  13. Kevin, I looked over your photos. I appreciate your effort and hard work, but honstly, I can't tell anything by the pics you have shown. I can only tell when holding the same pieces in my hands, and only when inspecting the inside surface of the armor. Regardless of whether or not this guy is recasting your kit, the way you fight this fight is what's most important here. Don't make enemies you don't need. let your integrity, quality and customer service sell your goods. I can see that your armor has sharper details and others can see that as well. We know who the recasters are and they don't last very long here.
  14. Michael, do you not partake in any sales on this forum? Are you buying stolen property and then proclaiming theft?
  15. Are you telling us that it is your work being recast? I'm still confused as to who's work is being copied. For only 12 posts on the FISD, you have a lot to say.I just want to know that I'm hearing you right.
  16. I had one but I sold it for the much needed cash. Now I wish I hadn't. Jim's helmet looks more accurate but it's a lesser quality prop; It's thinner, it's not finished and it doesn't come with a cool looking liner or lenses. You can do all that yourself though. The biggest difference is that a fan built prop is almost always a work in progress. Molds change to meet accuracy and the needs of the trooper, where a licensed product is "what you see is what you get", with less concern to accuracy.
  17. I just tricked out a set of armor for a garrison mate. It was cool to see it go on and snap in to place. The entire kit can be done like this; just throw the parts on like Iron Man and they snap and lock, only without the cool sound effects. By "entire kit" I mean the shins, ab, TD, chest plate and sides.
  18. Still looking for a source for quality inexpensive magnets. Right now, it takes about $40 in Home Depot magnets to do this mod. I found some cheaper magnets on ebay, but I wasn't happy with the strength of them and they shatter easy.
  19. Truth. sometimes I get my Kevin's confused. I knew KB was working on one, but I didn't know if he was doing a run or not.
  20. I've been working on my own parts. Don't know if I'll ever finish. Curious to know how many people will call it a recast. Funny part is, there is nothing available right now that is worth recasting. I find it humorous that KW made something for a licensed distributor, something not very accurate, cleans up what he's made for them and starts selling it as "KW". I think we should just let the whole recasting bit go, that is unless everybody is made to follow the same rules.
  21. A lot of prop builders are going into hiding. Wise decision. I saw on the Mrs. facebook page that the FN armor is surrounded in controversy, but as of yet, I have not heard of who's work was recasted.
