  1. Thanks! I traced my sterling trigger assembly and produced this template for the trigger inserts. Feel free to use as needed. You may need to adjust the upper right side to suit your application. http://www.tk10171.com/img/trigger_inserts.pdf
  2. 99.9% there...
  3. working on the preliminary nserts: before I cut with a jewelery saw.. I double stacked two pieces of 1/16 aluminum and taped together. This way I can cut both sides at the same time.
  4. Cutting out the space for the faux aluminum trigger group sides. Slow and steady!
  5. looks like a esb promo version 2.0
  6. the sea of people taking pictures consumed the front of the case, and I only had a couple minutes to get my shots. I'm going back this week and will post more for ya.
  7. These guys are hidden. I missed them the first day, coming off Star Tours. There are very few visible TFA TKs at Disney.
  8. Thought it would be cool to have a one stop area for TFA photo references - non parts. Here are some images from "Star Wars Launch Bay" at Disneyland.
  9. neither can I... get ur wallet ready.
  10. Hi Phillip... Are you looking for the first order TFA stormtrooper or a classic TK? Your local Garrison can help answer any and all questions you may have. In the interim, you can learn more information regarding armor - here. http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/11538-the-various-types-of-armor-and-where-to-find-them/
  11. Thanks! I'm happy with the overall result. I took it one step further and secured with 3 large zip ties and it held together quit well. I was able to handle it like a real prop. It's a great display piece and will most likely not see the light of day. It has great weathering and characteristics that I will try to recreate on my current doopy's build. Wish me luck!!
  12. Looking to replace the outer trigger assembly with real aluminum. I'm sure I can carefully remove the resin with a dremil.
  13. maybe a little of both. good eye. it's 1/4" larger on purpose for attachment/gluing. I need to excavate more of the resin in the grip so the guard sits higher in the trigger group. Thanks for the input!! Update: after the final adjustment I cut off an addition 1/8" off the bottom.
  14. Trigger assembly and guard: Started sanding and doing basic cleanup before assembly. Working on the pistol grip and trigger assembly currently Drilled out holes for real screws but the trigger guard is not very accurate. I've decided to make my own trigger guard out of 1/16 inch aluminum. Here is my tracing to use as a template to fabricate my guard Final dimensions for the replacement guard is 1/16" x 4.25 x 8/16 tapered to 6/16. this is how it pressure fits into the resin part. good start but needs to be adjusted at the top.
  15. I'm on Dday's e-11 waiting list but really want to apply for my EIB soon. A stromtrooper can't have too many blasters. After searching through 501st forums I was lucky enough get my paws on a nice doopy's kit, and all the third party fixings eg ammo clip, real counter, finishing kits, esb greeblies. The holidays came early. lol. This will be a ESB stunt build until I get my promo blaster from Dday and then I will convert it over to a ANH blaster.
  16. Update: Purchased a solid core 10" aluminum rod. Painted it with Eastwood crackle coat and epoxied the back part of a demilled barrel to the top. Now I have a solid structure for my parts kit to rest. From separate parts kit to a nice looking display piece. Onto the doopy's... Inserted into shroud: with pistol grip: slide on stock: complete:
  17. The inner strips should only be 15-20mm. The left strip in the picture looks good and right side is a bit big. Once you shorten the inner strips, you should have no problems clamping the parts together. The abs is flexible to some extent and should conform to a curve with enough pressure and time. 24 hours minimum on dry time. The rare earth magnets used should be very strong, greater than .5 inch. Try stacking more magnets together to create greater clamping pressure.
  18. Hey Rob. You'll need to create a photobucket account and post pics there. Once uploaded you can cut 'n' paste the url address for the photo into the thread: Read this brother.. http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/tutorials/article/48-posting-images-in-threads-2015/
  19. The full kit includes mostly the same parts as the pipe kit. The full kit needs cleanup and filling of imperfections and is a beast. The pipe kits requires some metal work but looks cleaner and less weight. my 2 cents
  20. You can buy the original sterling sized pipe here: http://www.ebay.com/itm/271650374876?_trksid=p2060353.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT
  21. Welcome aboard! The e-11 blaster is VERY popular as you can imagine. Yes, Doopy's has been sold out for a while. You'll have to inquire with dd's for their estimated restock. The aluminum pipe build is lighter than the fill resin kit for sure. If you are looking for an accurate e-11 here is another pipe build option from Phoenix Props. Unfortunately, there is a waiting list here as well. Good luck! http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/28047-phoenix-props-e-11-stormtrooper-blaster-kits-a-new-hope-and-esb/
  22. The trigger guard included with the DD's kit (2013), is thicker and shorter than the original. This was surprising to me, because the other parts in the kit are a perfect match to my sterling. I'm making a 1/16 aluminum version for my doopy doo's. It tapers from 8/16 to 6/16 and is approximately 4.25 inches.
  23. out of curiously why did you replace them for centurion? with what?
  24. Is this a personal preference?
