  1. I wouldn't have suggested trimming, but removing the return edge did cross my mind after I replied. Sent from my VK815 using Tapatalk
  2. Mine did the same and I ended up trimming them down about a half inch. You may not need to do that. Seems they are pretty snug on you already. I'll set this one out and let the masters give advice on this. Sent from my VK815 using Tapatalk
  3. Brendon how does the thigh fit in the length? Sent from my VK815 using Tapatalk
  4. Yes and it is screen accurate. Sent from my VK815 using Tapatalk
  5. I hear ya on the left to right transition. Straight to centurion that is what we like to see. I did the same on mine, just waiting on my EIB application so I can move forward towards centurion. Sent from my VK815 using Tapatalk
  6. Wish I would have thought of this Glen. Sent from my VK815 using Tapatalk
  7. Yay! BBB day for you now it is popcorn time. Good luck. Sent from my VK815 using Tapatalk
  8. You're correct the Black Series buckets are modelled off of the R1 TK and there many differences tube stripes among them. Basically all the painted "vent" holes are actually vents on them. I'd say the modification of a BS is unnecessary if you already have a bucket but that's just me. Still interested in the progress as a whole.
  9. Yes fantastic job on the ears. Sent from my VK815 using Tapatalk
  10. I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong though. Sent from my VK815 using Tapatalk
  11. Thanks that helps, how long is it? I know there's a thread about repairing armor, but don't recall where it is, perhaps someone could link it for you. The simple explanation is you can take a bit of your thicker crap, say your shoulder bell ends and cut it to fit with 1" over lap and CA/super glue it to the area. Then mix up some abs paste to fill as needed. So if the crack is 1" long cut your patch 2" long and 2"wide. To make abs paste with small cuttings of scrap and some acetone, nail polish remover and let it set over night. Then spread it over the top. Sand using 220, 400, 1200 grit. I had to add back to my thigh because I trimmed too much, it happens, but it's not unfixable. Sent from my VK815 using Tapatalk
  12. This is sad to hear. Could you get a photo so we could advise a fix Brendan? Shaping with boiling water is a rinse and repeat job usually. Sent from my VK815 using Tapatalk
  13. That is the shape you want.
  14. Yeah Mikes video were a huge help for me as well. Sent from my VK815 using Tapatalk
  15. Oh and welcome James. Sent from my VK815 using Tapatalk
  16. Nope that looks good for some re-shaping. Sent from my VK815 using Tapatalk
  17. It's best if you use a host site like imgur or Flickr to upload photos directly into your posts it makes it a bit easier. Sent from my VK815 using Tapatalk
  18. That is good news. Sent from my VK815 using Tapatalk
  19. It's always the built up... antici- Pation. It's nerve wracking. Glad I'm patient, but I love suspense. Sent from my VK815 using Tapatalk
  20. Cover strip should be slightly shorter by 2 or 3mm to keep from snagging or poking. You shouldn't have to trim it. The bicep should be sitting just above your elbow. If you look at the photo I put up you'll see my bicep sits just above the top of mine. But every trooper is different, I would suggest lining them up and taping them to be sure of a proper fit to you. Sent from my VK815 using Tapatalk
  21. Looks good, but the bicep will set lower once you start strapping so keep that in mind. If you look at my right bicep that is about where it should be setting from what I understand. Someone could correct me if I'm wrong though. Basically the inside dip of the bicep should be sitting about even with the bottom of the shoulder bell. Sent from my VK815 using Tapatalk
  22. Yes, this is what you want to do. Sent from my VK815 using Tapatalk
  23. Now as for shaping boiling water or heat gun will work. Boiling water no more than 30 seconds fully submerged and shape, then run under cold water to set the shape. Heat gun you want to be careful with it as it can quickly warp. Sent from my VK815 using Tapatalk
  24. So it looks like you've aligned the forearm from the wrist side. When you do that it tends to have what you see with the elbow end. You want to align it from the elbow and trim the wrist end. Spacing wise that is mostly from outside of the arm and not the inside. You want it to heavenly spaced or close to it on each limb. Sent from my VK815 using Tapatalk
  25. So the big thing I'll make note of here is that you've aligned the forearm at the wrist, you should be going from the elbow. I did the same and had to adjust it later. Sent from my VK815 using Tapatalk
