Diana's RS Props Build- ANH Stunt
Rat replied to AsBlondeAsLuke's topic in Build Threads Requireing Maintenance
Like Glen I have converted to snaps. My TK will eventually pull double duty as a HWT and so I made the decision to switch to snaps. They work out pretty good. -
Is this an acceptable DLT-19?

Hey Joseph how deep are those grooves in the butt stock? I've been slowly scratch building one and need to figure that out. -

Coming along nicely Garrett. I'm making headway on that pike you delivered to me as well. -

Nothing wrong with painting the whole thing, but keep in mind you'll have to paint the bucket also. Now I've heard that WTF! is pretty a close color match. -
Is now a good time to start a build?
Rat replied to TK Monkus's topic in Hard Armor (General Discussion)
I won't try to say which armor is the best choice for anyone. But there are many good kits out there I have an Anovos stunt kit and a WTF Crimson kit both are decent enough for me and I've had no issues with either so far. When I built my Anovos kit I literally only had access to sandpaper, utility knife, dremel and some kitchen shears. So you can manage with minimal tools. Don't think or feel you need a lot of tools basic tools like a hammer, screwdriver, utility knife, x-acto knife and sandpaper and a snap setting tool is all you really need everything else is just to make it easier. Good luck with whatever armor you choose and I look forward to your build. -

Lots of broken photos and no text at all. But it does have measurements. -

Hey Dan I'm not familiar with printed armor or processes of it. I can tell you that if you're in TK armor it is typical to lose some of your mobility and sitting is not an easy task if you can manage it.

Welcome Paige! It's always nice to see a partner step up to be a spotter for their trooper and be involved in the actual build process. Remember pictures are your best friend and no question is dumb or stupid.

Costume Approval Information - Legion Elections 2019

Somehow I just realized that adding costumes was exempt from the election lock out. -
Yeah from the photos I'm pretty sure you'll be okay once you get some mock strapping and your belt on.
-
How much overlap is there? You could always add a bit of padding in there or try to shape it a bit. Even a little of both maybe? This is where we say photos are helpful as we can get a better idea of the issue.
-
Yes always test fit everything prior to changing anything. Even a test fitting using painters tape holding the whole kit together. This way you get a feel of how it will actually fit on you.

Yeah I forget you have to edit something to edit any part of the post. Sent from my 5054N using Tapatalk

For the straps heat gun, if you're comfortable with it, or hot water bath and that should work. As for how much to bend them it should depend on how your armor I fitting. Sent from my 5054N using Tapatalk

I would suggest shortening the shoulder elastic. That would pull the body up a bit. It also looks like you could adjust the chest snaps that would raise the ab up. Sent from my 5054N using Tapatalk
-
I also noticed that you have not shaped the should strap yet. That would also help with the fitting. Sent from my VK815 using Tapatalk

One thing you could do is straighten the tabs on the back plate that could help the shoulder straps reach. Wearing your undersuit always helps. The shorts make it hard to tell where the cod is setting to really be able to gauge how much room you have. What type of strapping are you using? Sent from my VK815 using Tapatalk

I will second Joseph's sentiments. Very simple fixes for all of the issues stated and I would add that two more that are really just helpful tips. On the left shin add a bit of foam inside to keep it from rotating and a little behind the knee plate to help it from getting under the thigh. The other is to add a little something under the right thigh ammo belt to help keep it from slipping down. As Joseph said the boots will depend slightly, but painting them is screen accurate as they were painted white. Sent from my VK815 using Tapatalk
