Im about the same with my TK build. For my theighs I followed the smaller piece with a pencil & cut with all purpose scissors. Before I cut I made sure both theighs would be the same after the would be cut.

Happy to help out.

I saw pics with the tape. I may add the tape to this leg. For some reason it continues to seperate after I apply the clamps. I've made some adjustments to my "tools" & will attempt to glue later

I bought my FX kit back in June of 2007. It was my wife's BDay gift to me. I've had it sitting in the box for almost 3yrs now collecting dust. With a lil pushing from my fellow Pilots in the JRS. Ok so they were making fun of me for having it sit so long. I got to it at the end of my vacation last week.

Yes that is the Return of the Jedi special. I thought I was buying just the Making of Star Wars DVD. I was so happy to find it after looking for so many years. I hit "Buy It Now" & checked the mail everyday to see if it arived. I had the flu real bad & was watching Tv in bed. Plus thats where I have my surround sound & flatscreen & my wife said I got something in the mail. The DVD had come. I quickly tore open the envelope & pulled out two DVDs I didn't relize that I also got a copy of the Star Wars Holiday Special too. I tore open my making of & thats when I noticed it has all three versions of the makings I watched them all right then & there. It was a good day to be sick

Ran into my fisrt SNAFU today. I went in the bedroom to remove the clamps from the theighs. The 1st was good. The 2nd was not It must have shifted when I set the piece down with all the clamps. The bottom was glued in the right position, but the top had moved about 1/4". I wasn't sure if I was able to pull them apart. But luckily I had just read on here that E6000 can be seperated if your carful. Well I looked it over, & got out my exacto knife. Slowly I inserted the blade in between both halfs. I took my time, not wanting to rush. I didn't want to push too hard or fast & have it slice open the other front seam to the armor. Concentrating, sweating, & a few silent cuss words & I was able to seperate it without breaking either half. Now Im off to remove the old glue & then reassemble. The forearms are gonna hve to wait til tomorrow

I have that same VHS tape. It was a free give away from Kellogs Cereal. It also came in DVD form, but I've never found anyone who actually has it on DVD. I"ve searched Ebay for it for a few years now & never seen one. The other day I was lucky enough to find a "But It Now" DVD version from Australia. I was so stoked when it came, but what was even better was it had all 3 of the makings! The Making of Star Wars, SPFX-The Empire Strikes Back & Classic Creatures-Return of the Jedi. It has some trailors & interviews with Lucas, Ben Burt, & a few others that I have never seen before. With shipping I think I paid under $16. TOTALLY WORTH IT TO ME

POLL: What glue have you tried, what actually works
Chunk replied to Daetrin's topic in Assembly, Mods, and Painting
After asking questions on how to glue my armor together I was given the recomendation of E6000. It took me awhile to find it, but I did. The Walmart here had 3 peg hooks full of the glue & Im assuming it is stocked often, as all the hooks were full to copasity. Very cheap too. I paid $2.57 for the tube. -
Those are sweet! Now I know where I saw that helmet. It was at my last troop He's kneeling in the front row:dancing-trooper:

PINK COMMANDER FEMALETROOPER ARMOR! & TD TROOPER
Chunk replied to TK8099's topic in Build Threads Requireing Maintenance
I like both! -
This is what I use. Got it at Lowes for under $30. I've seen them in a few diffrent colors. All beige, beige with black top, & all blue. As soon as the weather warms up. Im gonna throw a fancy paint job on mine. All my gear fits in with plenty of room for extra. Right now I have my Tie Pilot gear in one & will get another for my Stormie. They have handles on bothe sides & rugged wheels on one end. Makes it real easy to drag along on troops. Hardes part is lifting it into the Tahoe. Luckily its very light. -----------

Even if you think your number is available it may not be. When I chose my number, I was for sure I would get my 1st choice. I ended up getting my 3rd pick. My # was not in use over in the Jolly Roger Squadron, but it was being used by another 501st member with a diffrent costume. I didn't even think about checking the other costume forums for the avaiable #. Now Im TI,IN,IC & soon to be TK2493

I like the natural wear & tear of things. Gives your armor charecter

To clean, or not too clean?
Chunk replied to firebladejedi's topic in Hard Armor (General Discussion)
I like the used look myself. Let it wear naturally -
right knee ammo plate broke... fixed it
Chunk replied to Eric's topic in Assembly, Mods, and Painting
Both are good ideas. I like the cut & elastic a lil better. I'll probably go with this method for my knee. The ammmo belt I'll have to work on. Maybe the heat gun for the larger belt. I'll let you know what I choose when I come to that
