**************SOLD OUT**************** Well, after a long wait, the HWT patch run will be coming soon. Q (Gmrhodes13) has come up with a really cool design, (pictured below), and the patches are due to arrive on or before Oct. 18th. There will be a strict limit of 2 per Trooper, so that I can make sure all the present and future HWTs get at least one. The price per patch will be $5.00, which includes shipping in the U.S. I will find out about intl. shipping before the run starts. The patches are 4.5 inches wide, and the $5.00 price includes a $1.00 donation to the Make-A-Wish foundation. This is NOT, I repeat NOT a sales thread. This is an interest thread. The number of patches is limited, so if you would like to have first crack at them, please post here and state if you would like one or two. and I will start a priority list below this thread. Please do not ask a fellow non HWT Trooper to order some so that you can have extras. This is just in bad taste, and will deprive any soon to be and future HWTs the chance to get one. The sales thread will be opening up after they arrive, and I will announce that here. Thanks for your patience! UPDATE: PATCHES ARE HERE!!!---------- 1. CrookKnight- 2 2. Caligari- 2 3. I will be starting a sales priority list in the HWT section today called "Attention HWTs". Since the patches supply will be limited supply, this will hopefully give the HWTs who have been waiting a while a heads-up. This will be a priority list, not an order list. Those who sign up first will get first chance when they arrive.

TK61673 requesting ANH Stunt EIB status [AP] [641]
justjoseph63 replied to Deadeye's topic in Request Expert Infantry Status
Wow, Kurt... REALLY nice job on this build! Love the double snap system.. (I swear by it). The only thing that jumped out at me was the top of the right thigh... it looks as if the outer piece is a bit longer than the inner one. This can be cut down an evened out with no trouble, and won't affect your ability to reach EIB or Centurion. As a matter of fact, you can remove all the return edges on the tops if it is more comfortable. Also, don't forget about this thread for when you are approved: http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/38945-free-501st-decal-for-the-next-5-eibs/#entry521555 Best of luck, Trooper! -
You can PM him here, Ron, to see if he has anything available right now: http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/user/1330-slavefive/

I agree, Charles is a great guy! I have trooped with him a few times, and have a couple of those awesome patches he offered a while back. He gave me permission to duplicate them, but I later decided I wanted something original and Glen did a fantastic job on the design!

UPDATE: The patches have been ordered! They are not scheduled to arrive until around Oct. 18th, but the sales thread will be opening up shortly after that. The cost will run about $5.00 per patch, (U.S. shipping included), and $1.00 from the sale of each patch will go to a charity to be determined, (more than likely the Make-A-Wish foundation). Size is 4.5 inches. I will be posting the prices for intl. shipping when they come out. Due to the limited amount, there will be a strict limit of 2 per Trooper, but if they sell out quickly, I will consider doing another run. A BIG thanks to Glen (Q) for designing this!!!

This thread may be a bit enlightening, Mathias.. http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/32279-pauldrons-and-tks/?hl=pauldrons Are pauldrons cool looking? Of course! But... (and this may open up a can of worms)... unless you are a Sandie or Heavy Weapons Trooper, I don't recommend wearing one. It is fairly easy to mod an existing ANH Stunt TK into a HWT, and it can serve you in both capacities. The pack will run you less than $50.00 in materials, the ammo pouches less than $30.00 for a set. If you need any further info., just PM me, and I'll be glad to help.

The amount of detail is amazing... Is it still in the box? The reason I ask is that some rear pics of the pack would be cool to see.

The link in my last thread was to a "needle" file set you can pick up really cheap at Lowe's, (or Home Depot, I guess). They come in all different shapes... round, flat, square, etc. and are perfect for cleaning up the openings for the teeth.

Begun the ANH Stunt Build has [RS]
justjoseph63 replied to Alexx_G's topic in Build Threads Requireing Maintenance
Looking good, Alexander! A couple of things that may help you out... If you are going to re-paint the tube stripes using a template, I suggest that before painting, make sure the edges are pressed down firmly and hit it with a thin coat of gloss white or clear first, and let that dry for 10 minutes or so before using the blue. This will seal the edges and prevent any bleeding of the blue. As for the TD, it looks great! The only things I would recommend are to sand down the edges/ends of the clips until they are really smooth to the feel. This will prevent them scratching your armor when attaching it. (Helpful hint: Take a short length of 1 inch wide white Velcro (the fuzzy side) and attach it to the back of the clips that slide behind your belt. This will also prevent more scratches.) Hopefully you are aiming for EIB and then Centurion, in which case you will need to paint the screws on your TD black. Great job so far, and I look forward to the rest of your RS build! -
HWT Pack Build Thread
justjoseph63 replied to CrookKnight's topic in Build Threads Requireing Maintenance
Looks GREAT, Shawn, and SO glad to see that you added the battle damage to the pack as well! Also glad to hear that you are ordering a new canvas belt.. it can (and will) get really "dirty", really quickly. -
Almost forgot... the teeth openings look good, but need a little extra work. To make this MUCH easier, I would pick up one of these: http://www.lowes.com/pd/Project-Source-6-Piece-Needle-File-Set/4777067 You can refer to the Centurion link in my last post for detailed pics of how they should look.

Caleb is absolutely correct, David, you just need to sand them a bit more in certain places. In your second photo, you will notice that the front bottom of the ear is not meeting up with the bottom of the bucket. This is not that unusual, and will be covered to some extent by the S-trim. To get it a bit closer, you can (slooowwly and carefully) trim off a bit more at the bottom as seen in the photo below. Your placement looks good, but to get it perfect, check out some of the buckets in this section: http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/forum/72-request-centurion-status/ Once you get the placement where you want it, go ahead and install the screws. These will tighten up the gaps as well... sometimes more than you think. Remember, the ears don't have to fit perfectly, but should be close. You should also keep this thread updated with new pics of your progress, which will help others as well. Keep up the great work!

Way to go, Ron! My first kit was AM 2.0, and I love it... I do 99% of my Trooping in that one since I converted it to full time HWT. Like Randy mentioned, glad to hear you are headed for Centurion right out of the box! As you well know by now, please ask if you have any questions, and best of luck on your build!
-
Looking GREAT, Sean, and really nice job on this build! It may be the camera angles, but it looks like your drop boxes may need to come out just a bit to be even with the end of the belt. Adding a photo like the one below to your application to show the alignment might help. On a side note, you can remove all the return edge on the top of the thighs if you find them uncomfortable... (mine chafed the heck out me until I got rid of them). Best of luck, Trooper, and I look forward to welcoming you to the rank of Centurion! P.S. LOVE the double snap system. I use this on all my armor and have never regretted it, (or had anything fall off or come unsnapped during a troop).

Supply list for your OT TK build....
justjoseph63 replied to justjoseph63's topic in Getting Started - Read this First!
OP? Not certain what that stands for, but hope it's not Old Person, LOL. -
The old saying "You get what you pay for" definitely applies with this kit, Nicolas, but it's great that you asked before purchasing it. Like Mike mentioned, your best bet if you want to gain 501st approval is to check out the "vetted" sellers list here: http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/11538-the-various-types-of-armor-and-where-to-find-them/
-
You can definitely start by removing all of the return edges (the "lips" that curve inward) at the top of the thighs, James. Leaving these on can (and will) cause chafing. This will give you a bit more room. Looks as if you could also remove some of the length at the top, but be sure to follow the existing line, and remember the saying "measure twice, cut once". I would hold off on this until you get the top part of the armor fitted so that you don't remove too much. You should check out some of the build threads to see how this should look.

September 2016 Newsletter
justjoseph63 replied to Holnave (evan_loh)'s topic in The Newsletter Archive
Good call, Chris! In addition to helping new recruits and existing TKs with 501st and armor related questions, Imperial Attaches also host/and or attend armor parties, give advice on a local level, and represent the FISD at it's finest. These individuals are selected because of their commitment to furthering the knowledge of and keeping up the standards of the Detachment, as well as promoting good will and encouraging advancement in ranks, (EIB and Centurion). These Troopers are volunteers, and have been selected because of their contributions to the good of the Empire, the Legion, and the FISD. They are here to assist you as needed. -
Kudos to all who participated in this, Greg! GREAT job!!!!
