  1. I find this particular statement in the listing absolutely ridiculous, as well as misleading: For legal reasons we can only sell this armour kit if you are from or think of joining the 501st or any private fan clubs. By buying this kit, you agree to that. Thank you for your understanding. Perhaps he meant "For legal reasons we can only sell this armour kit if you are NOT from or think of joining the 501st or any private fan clubs. By buying this kit, you agree to that. Thank you for your understanding.
  2. jimmiroquoi has had some really great reviews so far, but not sure about availability.
  3. AWESOME, kman! If I can be of any help, just let me know. We are working on a few updates to the HWT CRLs in the upcoming weeks, (nothing too radical) so keep your eye out for this.
  4. Good call, Randy! And absolutely something you should think about doing, Cameron. If your'e gonna' do it... do it right!
  5. Great to hear you pulled the trigger on your armor, Cameron! My first kit was an AM 2.0, and I found it to be a relatively straightforward build. There are a lot of tutorial threads dedicated to AM, which you should check out in detail while you wait: http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/forum/6-anh-stunt-and-hero/ I would advise taking lots of notes, and use the "Follow This Topic" option to keep them handy during your build. Another thing I really stress is the old Boy Scout motto: Be Prepared. Having everything on hand and at the ready during the process will make your life a LOT more stress free, I promise. There's nothing worse than to have to stop cold and run to the store or order something online. I have a list located at the bottom of my large avatar below, (Supply list for your TK Build). Just click on the link. I would also use this time to get your under suit, which will help you while you are doing the fitting, and if you can, having the boots will help as well for fitting the calf pieces. Another thing you can do is start your own build thread. This allows you to ask questions and post photos (we LOVE photos) of your build in progress. Also, if you do happen to have questions or problems, posting photos makes it MUCH easier to help you when we can see what the issue is. They really are worth a thousand words. Lastly, if you haven't already, sign up at the Ohio Garrison's site, http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/forum/6-anh-stunt-and-hero/, and get in touch via PM with your local Imperial Attaches, Steve (Snaps) and Pete (Striker). They are there to help you out on a local level, and always feel free to ask questions here. Have a blast on your build!
  6. It should be a little loose so that you can move around comfortably without it binding or rubbing on your skin. Taking it down to 1/8 sounds great. The opening at the top of the elbow looks about right, but the wrist opening (fourth from the bottom) looks as if there may be too much room. It should be wide enough to put your hand through fairly easily.
  7. I can assure you that we will have a run that will make them available before Celebration. Just check the boards frequently, as the run may be open as little as a few weeks.
  8. Not sure when the next one will be, Brad. The FL. Garrison may be doing another one as well, but there is no set date for either. You will need to have your official 501st TK-ID number to order either one, so get busy and get that armor complete and approved!
  9. The only problem you may run into if you trim off the return edges after getting it to fit comfortably and gluing it is that you might find it too loose. It should fit well and give a good range of motion without flopping around. Like Tony shows in the screen-used armor shots above, the unevenness is absolutely accurate, but can really be uncomfortable.
  10. Be very leery of any armor you find on eBay, Timmy. Very leery. 99.9% of them are re-casters, and not eligible for 501st approval. To be honest, I am not sure about this one, but $1,800.00 is a lot of money to wind up as a Halloween costume. Anovos is releasing their TFA kit early next year, but you will have to assemble it. I guarantee there will be more than a few build threads specifically for it right after it comes out. https://www.anovos.com/products/star-wars-the-force-awakens-first-order-stormtrooper-standard-kit-pre-order
  11. On the forearms, you still have a lot of the return edges you can remove, David. In the next to last picture in your last post, you will notice how there is a "point" at the seam on the top of the forearm. This should be leveled off. For a perfect example of how this should look, check out the pics on Theo's (ScaryGuy) Centurion submission thread... (especially the top 2 photos): http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/38605-tk-31026-requesting-anh-stunt-centurion-status-anovos274/. As for the biceps, again, you can take more of the return edge off when you level out the seams to give you a bit more room. Here are 2 photos from one of my biceps:
  12. Wow... fantastic job on this armor, Dennis! A nice, clean build, and your connections are spot-on. The only thing that jumped out at me was that your shoulder bridges are not evenly glued to your chest plate. Not that noticeable in the front, but moreso in the back. This may not affect your EIB submission, but you might want to consider this before submitting for Centurion. Hopefully you used E-6000, which would make it an easy fix. (I had the same exact problem on my first build). If you need some advice on how to do it, just PM me. Again, great job on this build, Trooper, and since it looks as if you will definitely get your EIB, check out this thread: http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/38945-free-501st-decal-for-the-next-5-eibs/#entry522361
  13. Welcome to the rank of EIB, Dave!!! Now you can get started on level 3!
  14. Providing a link to the Etsy listing for this would help out, Ferg. Perhaps another member has had dealings with this person and can better help you out.
  15. Looking good so far, James. If you could post some side pics (arms raised) that would be great. It could be the angle of the photos, but the outside of the left bicep seems to be bulging out a bit. If this is the case, it can cause your left shoulder bell to stick out and mess up the symmetry. The right one looks spot-on. Keep up the great work!
  16. I don't use a chin strap, Robert, and I don't think I have ever seen anyone who does. Unless you plan on doing cartwheels, (not advised) you shouldn't need one. As long as you have padding on the sides to keep it from sliding around you should be fine. I used to have my speaker (a 10 watt Aker, which is more than loud enough) attached with Velcro to the chest plate, but now I use the strap. I put it on before my neck seal so that no one sees it, it hangs just behind my chest plate, and because of the size, it doesn't make the chest bulge out. I had a 12 watt, but found it a bit too bulky.
  17. You may find that leaving it on in that area will be uncomfortable, but that will depend on how tight it fits. If you find there is no problem, then by all means leave it on. If you find that in the future it needs to be removed, you may have to remove the cover strip and tighten up the seam so that it's not too loose afterward. I wouldn't worry about that for now, though! There are several areas where you can safely remove the return edges, including the tops of the thighs. I recommend this because they can really dig in and chafe you, especially after a few hours in your armor. Again, doing this will not affect any approvals.
  18. I'm definitely not a techie, Richard, but what I do is check the "Content I follow" option. This helps keep me up to date on the threads I have an interest in.
  19. Tony is spot-on there, David. Pictures really help to determine what will be the best route to go. I would suggest one showing your wrist inside as you have it now, and one of the top and bottom opening.. You should definitely leave some room for a few reasons. You will need to be able to tuck your gloves underneath, and you don't want the ABS to dig into your wrist from being too tight. Also, before fitting, I would remove all the return edges on the tops and bottoms if you haven't done so already. This will give you a better idea of the final fit, make them more comfortable to wear, and will not affect your approvals even up to Centurion, which I hope you are aiming for. As for E-6000, I highly recommend using it. If you do have to end up pulling them apart for some reason, you can. Putting them in the freezer for a while will help (seriously) if it comes to that. Don't get discouraged, sir. Hang in there, and we can and will find a way to get you sorted out.
  20. Outstanding job, sir... simply outstanding. You may as well go ahead and send me your address, as you should pass with flying colors... http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/38945-free-501st-decal-for-the-next-5-eibs/
  21. It was designed to be for present and soon to be HWTs because there just aren't any other patches out there available specifically for us. I don't have a problem selling one to you clean armor types, though, LOL.
  22. Hi Jeff! Great to hear that you have been doing your research, and like Aaron mentioned, there is no need for apologies for asking questions.. it's part what we're here for! RS is a great company, and their kit is pretty much ready for Centurion level right out of the box if you choose to have them build it for you. There is no stigma involved in having someone do it for you, but there is obviously a higher cost and wait time. I have read of a few cases where certain pieces did not fit correctly and had to be exchanged, but their customer service is second to none. So if you don't have the time to build you own, RS is certainly a great option. The Anovos kit has the advantage of having the bucket complete, and is a relatively easy build, especially with the incredible build threads here, and can also be taken to level 3. For an absolute perfect fit, and if you feel you have the ability, I always recommend doing it yourself. Yes, it takes time, but with the various tutorials here and our help you are in good hands. Best of luck, and again, don't be shy about asking for help.
  23. I tried leaving my return edges on, but they chafed the bejeezers out me. You are indeed talented (and patient) to re-create those return edges. I tried it once. It wasn't pretty. The fire dept. will attest to that.
  24. **************SOLD OUT**************** Well, after a long wait, the HWT patch run will be coming soon. Q (Gmrhodes13) has come up with a really cool design, (pictured below), and the patches are due to arrive on or before Oct. 18th. There will be a strict limit of 2 per Trooper, so that I can make sure all the present and future HWTs get at least one. The price per patch will be $5.00, which includes shipping in the U.S. I will find out about intl. shipping before the run starts. The patches are 4.5 inches wide, and the $5.00 price includes a $1.00 donation to the Make-A-Wish foundation. This is NOT, I repeat NOT a sales thread. This is an interest thread. The number of patches is limited, so if you would like to have first crack at them, please post here and state if you would like one or two. and I will start a priority list below this thread. Please do not ask a fellow non HWT Trooper to order some so that you can have extras. This is just in bad taste, and will deprive any soon to be and future HWTs the chance to get one. The sales thread will be opening up after they arrive, and I will announce that here. Thanks for your patience! UPDATE: PATCHES ARE HERE!!!---------- 1. CrookKnight- 2 2. Caligari- 2 3. YIYO- 2 4. magni- 2 5. sithpiper67- 2 6. Pistolsheets- 2 7. Bowman- 2 8. pho3nixonfir3- 2 9. allan1313- 2 10. Duda Duck- 2 11. Lichtbringer- 1 12. WDunham- 2 13. SheaJeff- 2 14. LoveMonkey- 1 15. 25. I will be starting a sales priority list in the HWT section today called "Attention HWTs". Since the patches supply will be limited supply, this will hopefully give the HWTs who have been waiting a while a heads-up. This will be a priority list, not an order list. Those who sign up first will get first chance when they arrive.
