Dont trim off so much with your first cut ... start off with a thick ear and slowly ... SLOWLY ... whittle that sucker down to fit . Take your time with the ears ... if you think they will be done quickly, youre mistaken. I think it took me roughly 2-3 hours per ear to get it where i wanted it.

The ear may be a tad on the thick side on the DISK part but the lower ear is excellent !

I'll take it that you are talking about the TOP SNAP I just went thru the same quest to find the answer. From what I gathered ... go 10mm off of the edge of the ab plate and eyeball the distance from the top

I have an ATA bucket and didn't put anyting behind the mic tips ... just dont over-tighten the screws

Yup, its intimidating .. but, continue with the Helmet and when you are done with that you will have a good feel for how things go together. After that, work on the Biceps. They are pretty easy to assemble. Then you will start to gain your confidence and your motivation level will rise as well when you start to see it come together. I can not tell you how many days I psyched myself up all day planning on what I was going to do when I got home and when I got home and went to the basement to work on my stuff.. i would stand there and scratch my head ..LOL Just take it slow... DON'T RUSH IT .. and use E6000 ...
