  1. This was my first Halloween out in the TK!
  2. You know those cheap clothing hangers that has been laminated in some sort of rubber or plastic? And on the hook ends they usually have a rubber nipple so people don't cut themselves on the wire.......yeah I use those for my screw ends. Should just pop on snugly or use a drop of E-6000 or hot glue.
  3. My first troop...the only advice I got was - "Just pick someone you know...then follow them closely and pretend you know what you are doing. The rest will come and In no time you will be a pro. When you put that bucket on in public for the first time...you will understand" Spot on.
  4. We weren't sure what to expect and how the crowd would receive us. But our presence was really loved from the reports we were getting and it looked like nearly everyone appreciated us being there. Everyone from kids to adults genuinely loved seeing us around and interacting and surprisingly all 8 TKs made it through the weekend without any incidents whatsoever. A few minor armour maintenance issues and some modifications for comfort on on of the nights for a few, but thats it. No lost blasters, stolen TDs or armour pieces falling off and going missing. The only damage to any of our kit was that a couple of our armour boxes were superficially damaged while being freighted to the event. Almost negligible really.
  5. PS. There were two star wars cars in the team. One was a First Order Car and the other was a Rebel Alliance (?) car. Bad guys had a TK on one side and Kylo on the other. The good guys had Poe and Chewy. For your info, the dark side got on the podium in 3rd and the light side failed to make the top 10....
  6. And this is the follow up of the Bathurst 1000 race that debuted the cars just this weekend past. We had the same 8 TKs that were at the launch. There hasn't been an official troop report yet, and there should be TV footage when we marched down the start strait, but I'll just share a few photos for now cos Im fresh of the plane from the race. Hope you don't mind adding to the thread Q. Guarding the racing simulators. Pity we don't have any EP7 troopers in Australia....(hint hint) A lot of guarding.... When we invaded the Driver signings and grid girls.... Pit duty! They took us to the top of 'redneck' mountain...it was slightly...err.....redneck. Notice they had to get two burly security guards to flank us so we didn't get mobbed by the drunktards... Cheeky podium shots... And Amro...our boss and only wrangler for 8 TKs and 4 full days of trooping. Thats why he's our commanding officer. More to come when I find some decent quality videos and a proper troop report is done.
  7. Great newsletter mate! That wookie looks so amazing!
  8. Thanks Steve. Here are some updated photos.... FRONT - Put some padding in the forearms so they don't twist as much. But mainly removed the hooks under the arm on the biceps, which dropped them a little lower. Inside is still connected to the shoulder bell with elastic/snaps. BACK LEFT SIDE RIGHT SIDE RIGHT SIDE CLOSE UP - I wasn't happy with my side closures in the original pics and I know how much you emphasise the 'no gaps' rule...so I made sure they can be closed. LEFT SIDE CLOSEUP
  9. Not sure. All I know that is if I don't cut the cod - I can't get onto a Bantha.
  10. Firstly I must apologise for the graff wall. Its been really hard getting someone or remembering to do these pics when its convenient. So today at a photo shoot I thought Id get them done. Only thing was that the place we were at had NO un-tagged walls. Hopefully the detail shows through. Also I forgot to take an action shot - so I have included one from the last photo shoot. I've also noticed there has been some really nice and clean centurion builds out there (not to mention professional pics). My armour has been put to work every couple of weeks since I got approved last November so you can see the 'love' that has been put into it. Good luck to me! 11. Glad you like it! Make sure you share your pics down the road The thanks really goes to the good (and sometimes grumpy - myself included) folk of this forum, for their inspiration and help with the build. 18 months later and Im still finding ways of tweaking it.
  12. TKs are bad guys in the movies. So why are we doing 'good'? All abit of fun innit. You can't tell me it looks THAT bad.....
  13. I winged it when it came to the strapping bit cos there were no two same ways of strapping that I've seen when using snaps. Everyone has their own way and you will end up fine-tuning after you get the suit up and running. Here is my mess of a strapping system. I've actually got more snaps now because I have cut the cod since then. I have full mobility and never had a any piece of armour fall off since I built it. Hope you get something out of it.
  14. Don't listen to all these bullies. As long as its NOT a canon event...then you are allowed to do whatever you want.
  15. Just don't put a Lego head on.
  16. Im 5'10" and about 75kg (about 165lbs) - and I have AP. Fits me perfectly and didn't have to shim anything. Good Luck! Edit - Im a 32 - 33 waist depending on time of year
