  1. I found you don't have to leave the acetone/ABS scraps overnight. I used a glass jar with the scraps in it...poured some acetone in...and within a few minutes the ABS started to melt into a paste. Had to work quickly tho as it started to dry and harden almost as fast as it melted. Good Luck!
  2. My hair is getting real long too. Problem with wearing a balaclava for me is that when I put my helmet on (twist technique) - the balaclava twists with it!
  3. Hey there - you might wanna check your armour agains the CRL HERE. You wanna check under ANH Stunt or ANH Hero. These are the basic requirements of your armour to get 501st approval. The best thing to do after that is to start your own thread and post lotsa pics. That way the members can and will guide you to where you need to be. From just this one picture I can tell you need to add/fix/adjust/replace a few things. Good luck!
  4. Hi Jonas! If you post some pics then maybe we could give you some better advice.
  5. There is a bit of animal killing.... TOLO!!! AMAZING!!! RESPEKT!!!
  6. I REFUSE TO DIRTY MY ARMOUR......just yet.....
  7. I have a question too. Why do we need weathering on our armour? Especially a TD. I understand that in the movies sandtroopers are dirty....but they obviously didn't start out like that. The empire doesn't issue 'dirty armour' to their soldiers Im sure of it. So if thats the case, then why are we forced in a way to dirty our armour? Wouldn't it be better if the armour had a naturally worn look from trooping or just normal wear? If there was an option to build a clean TD...and let it wear and weather naturally...I would so jump on it. Blasters too for that matter. Why do they have to be weathered? In the movies they mostly look freshly painted....unless you do the Blu-Ray screen shot and enlarge. But I was never able to do that at the movies to check. Even with VHS they still looked perfectly painted to me....
  8. Just referring to the first post and how it reads the first time around thats all.
  9. America is not the only country in the world.....is it?
  10. I think you actually haven't cut enough. You could go deeper and make the eyes bigger.
  11. Lid looks BAWS Tim! Ive got the same system but yet to install it. I tried setting it up once, but kept getting crazy feedback. Not sure if im ready to put a hole through my bucket yet for the mics.
  12. My full name is : Hans-Donovan Cheong Fang Hou. 100% Chinese and have no European linage. I also have a sister named Hilda. Ill let you work the rest out.
  13. I had the same problem too! Tried velcro, doesn't work because it doesn't stretch. Figured out that it was because there was heaps of room around my ankles. So i decided to tighten them by punching some holes and using some elastic. Then I saw somewhere else on here that someone used the snap-on-heel tab technique. I copied it and I haven't had the problem since! The front of my boot doesn't come off, but I suppose you could do the same thing on the front. And BTW, my boots are TK boots. Just thought I'd share!
  14. Thanks Germain! Funny you should post that, I kept looking at how uneven my ab rivets were, so I took everything apart and raised the holes on the kidneys. Just waiting for ABS paste to dry in the old holes. Hopefully that fixes the problem. Also redone my shoulders/biceps. Waiting for the glue to dry on the elastics. Longer snaps on the inside too holding them together. Hopefully some updated photos tomorrow. Cheers again everyone!
  15. Ah thanks! Will take note of the comments Andrew. Got the day off so Im gonna go head and adjust the elastics on the shoulders and lengthen the snaps holding the shoulder to the bicep. That should drop it round about an inch.
  16. Im having a little difficulty with them (the kidney/back) having the tendency to slide up. It fit really good the first few times, but after a couple troops and many outings in it, its started to slide up. Tried longer shoulder strapping and longer/shorter straps all around but still haven't been able to fine tune it to look perfectly aligned. As far as comfort its not an issue. A tiny tug of the sides and its back in position. Also tried a few different ways of holding thighs up with garter and also snapped directly to abdomen. Not sure which is better but the snaps to the abs eliminates that digging (into the waist) the garter does after a few hours. Looking at the pic of the back again, I think my backplate could use a little heat gun love on the bottom right corner....
  17. As promised here is the mod I made with the Go-Pro chest mount. For those that don't know this is how the chest mount comes - with a detachable adapter. I removed the backing plate from the adapter and attached it to my Aker. Matching the holes, drilling them and securing them with the same screws & nuts that I use on my helmet. They fit perfectly. Used velcro to mount the iComm unit to the side of the Aker and to the top of the Go-Pro clip. There will be a gap between the Aker and mount, but thats good because I can wrap my cable around it. The complete unit with throat mic. (Note I have cut off the ear piece that comes with the headset). This is what it looks like on. I have a Veedox neck seal with the bib, and you can't see any of this under it. It also miraculously sits comfortable under the chest plate and doesn't bulge in any way. This is the throat mic. Its only a cheap one you should be able to get from any good electronics store, but it works!
  18. I've been doing my snaps like this too after seeing this. Cheers Q!
  19. Oh man...my armour is so beat compared to the rest of the EIB submissions. I hope all the ABS goop repairs are ok .. The reason my back cover strip for my thighs are so large (50mm) was because I botched building them and cut both thighs too small. Had to do an emergency extension work.
