Armor help [didnt know where to put this}
TK bondservnt replied to Krenn's topic in Getting Started - Read this First!
I've got him covered troops. I'm local to his location and getting him dialed in. -
if you look carefully george added charcoal dust and scuffs to white armor in IV. you can clearly see dirt on the TK's involved in the tantive raid.

Anyone planning to offer an accurate ANH HDPE Trooper Bucket?
TK bondservnt replied to JoeR's topic in Off Topic
mike just rules! completely rules! -
the great part about this glue is that it stays on, but you can remove it! it's flexible enough to withstand the bending that comes with putting on a shin, or flexing a thigh. and it comes off capped abs well enough with mild soap if you catch it while it's still curing. (it balls up into a rubbery tan and comes off like rubber cement.)

photos are great, I could have included lots of photos. what we're looking for at this point, is to find the actual sources for the details of a door panel lock, or greeblie or light. eventually I'll just probably have to fabricate everything out of plastic sheeting and such. we're looking for actual parts sources from the originals. if any? we'll have to see if mon cal can help...
-
we've got a start on some light panels, and a lead on a possible plan source. does anyone have a real parts source? for the lights/switches and designs of the door locks? and we've only covered the death star lighting pattern for part of a wall design.

I've been looking around at photos, and trying to find some sources for the details used in the set construction for interiors. I'm looking for the details to create wall sections of the following interiors: Death star I hallway wall panels Death star I doorway panels and light panels Death star I large blast door wall panels/switches Tantive IV main doorway interior (main blast door) tantive IV hallway with side doors. Star Destroyer hangar bay doors and wall panels. Star Destroyer Bridge control bay panel. I've seen reproductions of the tantive VI hallway and interior in photos on the UKG. can anyone provide Illustrations, parts lists and paint scheme details for the construction of some iconic interiors? any and all information is needed. anyone with detailed photos, or reproductions, please feel free to PM me, or provide information in this thread! I'd like to have a series of panels for my star wars room. and I'm interested in making some interiors for a fan film. thanks for your help troopers! having a Deathstar I doorway panel with lighting would make an excellent backdrop for a trooper standup. Let's build it!

the blaster for stunt/hero characters in Episode IV is the sterling L2A3 model 9mm smg. the scope most used is the M38 tank scope. The Hengstler Eagle gold metal socket counter is mounted on the left side of the scope. when modding the hasbro, you should purchase the doopy do's kit. and some extra more accurate T track. on the hasbro you need to cover the center row of holes on each side, and the T Track on the loower left side needs to be removed. then a row of holes needs to be added along that left side. taking into account the bayonet lug you also need to add to a hasbro mod. this row of holes along the left side of the lower part of the barrell has no T track on any of the holes. ELITE style A New Hope version. great thread! in later versions in the Empire Strikes back, those holes are covered with a cut T track separated by the bayonet lug. the scope rail, and scope are different, and the hengstler counter is omitted. on some ESB blasters you have a U shaped track. some are missing the blaster tip, like the EP IV version has, and some are just like the EP IV versions without the counter.Great Thread! and this stunt background version: Great thread! for Return of the Jedi, it's also different types of scope, scope rail, and C shaped tracks, the blaster tip, and other variations for the folding stock details, and some elements of the grips come from the MCG copy of the Sterling SMG. great thread! hope this helps.

looks like the trooper on the left of obi wan has his belt on way up high like a nerd with suspenders! look at the way the helmets are coming apart. it looks like the faceplates were attached with one screw so that they swivel.

AP Armor Question; How fat is too fat?
TK bondservnt replied to slave1pilot's topic in Hard Armor (General Discussion)
I wear AP at 5-11 and 210 lbs. I shimmed the AB plate with 2.5 inche plates on AB and kidney. left side is riveted to both ab and kidney. while the right side is velcro/snap shims. The belt needed to be a little longer as well at 41" long. I made the shims slide inside of each other so that as I gain or lose weight the belt takes up or leaves the slack needed. the chest and everything else fit me just fine! I lost and gained back my winter weight, and now as summer approaches I'm losing again, and still the armor fits. -
My AP helmet suggestions for improvements...

those measurements are also suggestive of the accuracy of the sterling cast I have. being only 3/8 inches off in total length makes me think that the folding stock is seated a little bit forwards on my copy. I'd go with the understanding that we're not just talking about the barrel's length here... but the total length with folding stock folded. the folding stock extends beyond the barrel's length, keep in mind. and I"d never use 1.5 for a diameter. schedule 40 PVC1120 450psi @73F ASTM D1785 NSF code JM90 ST is the most accurate diameter I've seen for a pvc pipe compared to my resin E-11. -
looks like a recast of a MRCE in fibreglass. there is no "pull" in fibreglass. methinks this is just another ebay product to avoid. Mic tips are totally wrong, and the frown looks almost like a direct recast of the MRCE! vocoder looks completely wrong not moulded in! hovie tips are too short and wrong. bring out the torches and pitchforks... it's a recast. ugh! (another humble opinion by tk 2392)

dashrazor which blueprints do you speak of? there are several sources for blueprints. I'm looking for an accurate set. I'm going to purchase a machinist's version. I've seen plans produced by a guy that did an airsoft conversion and his plans are wrong. good luck on your blaster mod quebectrooper! The receiver tube is not the total length. if you look closely you'll see that the folding stock is far out in front of the blaster. the end cap and total barrel length with barrel tip would add several MM to each side of the Total length. -

I personally dislike the hasbro because it's just so darn easy to get a doopy do's pipe kit and bang. accurate blaster with all the space you'd need to put even the hasbro electronics inside. 19 3/8 " total length from folding stock front hinge to D ring mount. Doopy Do's hollow pipe kit actual sterling mod. Doopy Do's hasbro mod. if you purchase the doopy do's kit, your hasbro will look as good as it can. if you go the extra mile, you could cut a lot off, and make it much more accurate. -

dang double post! -
the lightsabre design has been done, if you look up a maker named "sabreforge" he makes Dueling heavy grade sabres. I spoke with the designer and he's upgrading his design with an electronics sled, and heavy blades. he's also upgrading his sound system. just an FYI

ANH HERO PROMO HELMET REPLICA (LOTS OF PICS)
TK bondservnt replied to keith's topic in Build Threads Requireing Maintenance
now I know why I purchase mic tips from this man! -
actually you should use a movie screencap. rivets were not used like that. if you look closely you will see snap backs. the riser straps are not black, they were tan un-finished leather.
