  1. no thermal detonator? hehe...
  2. nice looking kit! is the belt canvas or canvas covered? is the butt plate separated from the kidney? my 2 cents?
  3. that is one cut up holster. interesting blaster... hmmm...
  4. another example of greatness!
  5. I have a set of bubble lenses in my lame MRCE helmet, and I wanted to suggest a little thing about them. the lenses I got from a maker in the UK. they make lousy armor, but the lenses have a feature that you might be interested in. the lenses have a flat spot in the horizontal center, all across the face of the lens, and near the center corner they are flat. this makes them a little more bearable to wear. if you'd like I can send you a single green lens to check out, and you can see for yourself. of course I'd send it along for free... PM me if you're interested in checking them out. the company took quite a while to provide the lenses, and gave me several mis matched green lenses as an example. I have one right eye to share with you to see how they are made. hopefully this might lessen the headaches.
  6. I see that it has the notches at the base that are open. somthing that I noticed when I was looking at the MRCE tips... those notches actually have the open holes that would allow for air to pass though the mic, to keep distortion down. and it looks like the nipple is the mic plenum.... and the cast is so very clean! the screen looks very very nice!
  7. happy birthday mark!
  8. nice falcon cockpit! only needs larger chairs! pretty good space scenes too!
  9. well... I hope you like billys advice. have fun. here's a photo of a recent Doopy Do's kit I made up: This is my version of the london prop store blaster... it features a few changes on the normal blaster we usually see for ESB. U channel aluminum T Tracks. and a U channel Sight rail, along with a farther back scope location. normally it would sport the m19 scope, but I swaped that out for an M38 copy. ----------- it has a light in the scope that's motion activated, and the D ring is metal, and works. the end cap comes off, and the cocking channel is ready for the mounting of speakers and electronics. I guess that's the reason why I cared so much... I wanted to help you out. ================= the only thing I can add to this discussion, is that the plan I put up is the blaster builders club plan, it was not created by "blastech" and on that plan the statement is made 18 3/8" long. from billy's measure we get 18. so there must have been some welding work to put together the blaster builders club Demill sterling. because billy is in the UK and he can have sterlings that have not been cut up into pieces and then re-welded together. this, and the printing variances some people get, can all cause a lot of confusion.
  10. it's just for the sake of accuracy. there is no problem in that. don't read this as a debate, or an argument. read it as the quest for accuracy. this is the purpose of the FISD. to be accurate, and to accept that people also have their own opinion. I have no need to : "shake hands" because in the end... I knew someone like billy, or andy would chime in and give us all the information we all need to build up a kit. thanks to everyone in this thread, now we have billy's excellent advice to either take, or ignore.
  11. I believe that keith could help you out a lot for both of your requests. keith have fun. keith ships his Hovie tips from england... but he makes the best in the world. he also should be able to supply you with brow and neck trims. TK4510 decals supplies brow trim, but it's for stunt helmets at this time, the measurement is 16.5 inches, and I've seen hero helmets needing a little more. his brow trim, while good quality, you might consider that keith could help you out with one transaction.
  12. that looks like a modded MRCE!
  13. if you're going for ANH then you need to have the kidney and rear plate separated and affixed with strapping in the center and at each side to keep them close together. if you're doing an ROTJ then you don't split those parts. the back and kidney plates do overlap on some people's torso because of the length from hip to shoulders. the kidney plate can ride under the back plate just a little... sure... the kidney plate and ab plates once connected will show you how much overlap you'll have according to your body type.
  14. the only things I see: rivets on the kidney and back plate with white elastic? most likely should have black strapping, and no rivets? otherwise it's a nice build, and fits well.
  15. ah... that's who wrote that blog! now we know...
  16. thanks billy... you helped me make my point quite well! the eggsperts strike back! with this kind of detailed information, now anyone with the understanding can properly cut a receiver tube, and layout the plan template and cut with peace of mind.
  17. holy mother of hengstler counters! the gold metal eagle socket counter you sold me was PRISTINE! of course I ruined it instantly by painting it black.
  18. I used to live in vegas when I was a kid. saw elvis 2 times... yeah... I'm old... but who's old in vegas is just old.
  19. with a pauldron and a BFG... and it looks sandy... could be a TD... sure! nice job on the animated clone. I'm headed to the clone commander suit... I see the future is not as clear...
