WALTS TR MOD..MOD I GUESS
TK bondservnt replied to walt's topic in Build Threads Requireing Maintenance
belt is too low... he fits within the screen used elements already. all he has to do is put his belt in the proper position. the shoulder bells have a lot of variance in the screen used suits. his knee plate could be lifted... but really it's ok..., his shoulder bells there are different lengths used. the drop box strap length is fine. his fitting looks really good for his body type. thi is RT mod... not AP. his build looks great. I think this photo shows how happy an RT mod owner can be@! see how in this photo his bells are in the correct position? his only photo flaw is the belt location. no major flaws except for the belt needing to be higher. -
ok in that photo I need you left foot more to the right.. and your left foot more to the left. your head should be turned more to the right... you should stand a little smaller.. ugh.. can I pose you some more? are you my action figure? nope.. sorry... ignore this post.

just raise the freakin belt. cmon ingrid... ease back... all the elements you mention he fits within the screen used elements already. all he has to do is put his belt in the proper position. the shoulder bells have a lot of variance in the screen used suits. don't be trying to enforce your own standards. you need to take a closer look at the screenshots ingrid. his knee plate could be lifted... but really it's ok..., his shoulder bells there are different lengths used. the drop box strap length is fine. his fitting looks really good for his body type. thi is RT mod... not AP. ingrid... please note that Ap and RT mod have scale and dimension differences... his build looks great. tour suit always on a manny? or has it ever been worn by a pub? -
if you have original sterling parts just buy the tube and template. my machinist had no problem cutting it out. bolt fit instantly all original sterling parts mount perfectly. done deal. comes with some minor errors on the template. bribe me and I'll tell you where he's a little small or off hehe... perfectionist!

that's why I say score 3x. it just takes a sharp blade and a few solid passes.

Attaching Hengstler counter
TK bondservnt replied to jkno's topic in Build Threads Requireing Maintenance
there are different locations for the wire attachments, and the type of wire. see how the wires on this original prop go in coils from the inside to the front, and then to the outside and back. all in one flow... they don't just attach from the counter to the cell it's a path. see how the wires are in "series" with the inside wire going back to the rear of the outside wire. 4 coils per wire, with them actually very thin, and if you saw them in color one would be red, and the other green. painted black of course... but weathering would put the red one on the inside. -
Can some one tell me where this extra piece goes?

we were ordered to miss the terrorists, to send them back to docking bay 327. where their homing beacon would lead us to the rebel base. heads up displays and blaster tracking was set at 10% and locked on walls or floors nearby. located on yavin. we won't miss this time!- 13 replies

patience patience patience. if you order an untrimmed kit it's always faster than any other option. imagine if you were building 10 suits of armor. how long would that take you?

Armour marks - Any tips?
TK bondservnt replied to nai-retep's topic in Hard Armor (General Discussion)
here's where I mention capped plastics and buffing compounds and waxes. I mentioned both forms in two separate posts. the only bad thing here is that you didn't read both posts. -

car waxes are for painted surfaces in outdoor environments. unless the wax is formulated for raw un capped plastics. any painted or capped plastic armors should not use novus polish, but instead should use the manufacturer's suggested polish or protectant. car waxes are for the outdoors they have additives for road conditions. if the product is for interior plastics then it might be a good solution for painted or capped plastics. -
I don't have a shop area, it's just the kitchen table and some scrap plywood from a construction site. sometimes if you use pliars you can get a ragged edge. it's best just to bend with a strong hand if you do use pliars just use them at the end of one side to start the bend. to keep from getting ragged edges from the pliars stressing the plastic at each grip point.
