  1. this sounds right. and tom's photo of the EFX replica shows a pill bump, it's just the light in his ref photo not showing it well.
  2. if you can afford 500-600 for a kit then you can find that. ATA works is a great buy. and it's not 1000.00 if you make fibreglass armor from pepakura you're going to be unhappy with the result. it's too heavy, hard to make and needs paint. all not cheap. you can't sculpt a helmet from a pepakura model anyway. http://www.whitearmo...showtopic=11538 see this link... go ATA abs if you're the correct size for a trooper.
  3. yes we will come to your photos and approve or not. look at screenshots to get the correct dimensions don't take advice from someone just pushing numbers. sorry charlie but I need to see photos of frank's belt before I can give him an exact screen used dimension. BTW charlie... do you have armor? I can't see any photos of your belt? 1/2" is actually too large!!! don't cut 1/2" off the corner. you need to compare a screenshot of a real belt and use that as a basis for comparing it for your personal belt plastic.
  4. nice work so far, you're going to have to do a lot of smoothing and sculpting to get the shapes correct!~ keep up the good work. there are a lot of good sculptors and you can get a lot of feedback from them on these boards.
  5. I personally think that brow is too low even for a hero. it might be the angle of your photo. it's a personal choice really.
  6. I attach the bicep to the bell on the inside at the back vertically with a strap. then the shoulder bell strap that goes across the bicep is taped to the bicep to keep the bell rotated forward. I also attach the top of the bell slightly forward at the top of the shoulder just a bit on the chest front side. this pushes the bell forward and the bicep strap keeps it rotated forward. since the biceps are formed to fit your arm, they can keep the shoulder bell in place by making the bicep strap "locked down" so that the bell cannot rotate backwards on the bicep.
  7. in the MEPD you just wear a pack to be deployed, then change it up for different SWAT versions. done deal. some swat mepd variations allow no pack. I like the HWT version as well and was hoping for a lightweight kind of pack like a hyperfirm... just a thin light pack with really lightweight materials. foam, pvc and air.
  8. 1/4" screw posts hillman at lowes in the specialty screws dept.
  9. From GF to FX to AM to AP to CFO and finally RS Props. there's still a few little things here and there around the FISD that need some upgrades, like my armor? with all the evolution and progress in the TK armor world, this forum has been the most fun to enjoy and be a part of. many thanks to the "old guard" professionals like our founder paul, and to all the special people simon and rob, mark and joe, TM troopermaster, mark H, and the many others responsible for the great costumes out there. people like Rolf, and jesse are also much watched around here! to another 6 years! :pint1:
  10. you should email mark for that information!
  11. falling down in armor... done deal. the one hand on the ground and two feet on the ground kind of fall. "get out the novus polish" and the handlers just laughed...'nice job fuzzball'
  12. get him... he's running away with my blaster!!! he won't make it to the wire@!
  13. from looking at your body measures you would not fit into AP armor. the ultimate max forearms and thighs you would need 2" shims on the arms, and 4" shims on the thighs and calves. the biceps also would have to be shimmed, and the chest, back and helmet probably would look out of scale. RT-mod all the way, with a larger helmet than AP.
  14. you will have to have a very small head for Ap armor to do this.
  15. I like the term bondservant because it stands for a person who loves his master. it's like being in love with your job. it's a really in depth concept from long ago. I've used the term for my screen identity for about 20 years now? since way back in the 14.4 modem bbs boards. it's spelled wrong because back in the day they didn't have enough characters for SN's.
  16. that's too bad the IMDB has errors in it!
  17. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0076759/trivia?tab=tr&item=tr0742866 star wars has a lot of behind the scenes trivia. check it out!!
  18. he does have a cover strip. and it's butt joined at the front seam. see the front does not overlap and is butt joined and the rear is overlap with velcro. so it's a two part system of joins. front and back.
  19. he did not overlap. ingrid should come by and personally oversee your assembly and trimming
  20. ingrid knows the attache' prorgram.. she's a great MENTOR. sounds like you need ingrid to lead you. don't cut anything until she is sitting there next to you.
  21. for ANH style you cut off 1/2 of the overlap on each part and join them with a 20mm strip. for the legs. if you overlap them it won't be correct for ANH style. episode 4
  22. if you're making ANH armor don't overlap it. for anh you need to use the butt join and finishing strip version of assembly. see build threads for cutting the leg and arms parts for ANH style. if you are making ROTJ style armor then you overlap it.
  23. great advice and way of handling the approval, and the submission looks great! I like the way the vocoder didn't stop him, and that he's going to amend that! top notch! flexibility and excellence all wrapped up nice and neat in white armor!
  24. what a nice job! holster looks pretty good too!
