  1. needs the lower T Tracks removed on the left bottom side. otherwise it's almost done.
  2. vocoder paint aside. that's an AP for sure!
  3. can use matte clear to flatten em.
  4. paint em white and call em stunt buckets! you can see in the colors of the hdpe that it's hard to form right! nice looking table full of lids!
  5. thanks paul for clearing that up! wayne's build is gonna be stellar!
  6. lee is one of those people who not only has real talent, but worked in the prop community from the inside out. if a boba fett fan ever wanted an accurate paint job... this is the man to hire! from speaking directly on the phone I can say he's got a lot of great things to share! keep up the photo posting lee... we want to see everything!!
  7. that photo shows only a belt TD and knee plate missing? looks like chris needs some more research time. the belt and td are shown in other photos... all that seems to be missing in the suit is the knee plate? if you look at han solo in the detention block scene where he takes off his helmet and is talking to the deck officer you can see his shoulder bell and it's swoop. great build so far wayne! keep up the good work!
  8. humbrol takes sometimes days to cure completely. be patient and wait a long time between coats. your paint curing barometric and temperature should be correct or it will extend the curing time. humbrol paints surface cure first, then they can take up to 24 hours to 1/2 cure... the solvent they use cures really really slow.
  9. the object on top of the scope is a fragment of T track. in the leia confronts vader photo.
  10. on the handplate leave a 1/4" return curved at the rear, 1/8" returns curved across the front and clean up the sides to the first curve.
  11. that is the incorrect style of scope. not used in star wars. there is no way I'd put that on an e-11 replica. it's the m38a2 led lighted version with the led assembly and bracket removed. looks like they did a bad job of trying to hide the led port hole with ton's of bondo and paint. here's what they look like with the base still on.
  12. lee... we can make a whole section on the forum for your awesome work! more closeups!
  13. the clip is the only thing you need to bend out of place or cut. I just bent the clip till it came off. nothing is cut... it just comes apart when you release the pin and the hinge.
  14. on the real thing the wires go over the edge. on his replica they are not attached.
  15. temperatures are key as well as airflow in the drying area. in michigan I'm sure you'd need to warm the paint. the temp of the paint and the surface are key to good coverage. keep it light... it looks like you blasted the paint on.
  16. why paint the inside of the ears?
  17. I think you could raise up the shins. that would help a bit.
  18. the m19 bolts are huge compared to the m38
  19. ata abs is a fine starter helmet. Type: ATA (Affordable Trooper Armor) Country: USA Contact: Supertrooper on FISD / [email protected] Kit: HIPS & ABS, untrimmed, ANH derived Availability: No known problems though there may be a waiting list. Assembly: armor needs to be trimmed, parts butt joined with finishing strips, then painted. Comments: The quality of HIPS material is such that it is the most durable of all HIPS armor makes. ABS is a custom color match very close to the original suits.
  20. the best hovie pa tips come from mark at cfo... you can get em at trooperbay. trooperbay sells 2 kinds of tips, his own called "mike" tips... and mark's from cfo. the "mike tip" is a one part budget item, and the cfo tip is the 3 part cast from original. the cfo tip is hands down the best tip around! now even AP helmets can be ordered with them.
  21. got my caps in today! amazing. I was 3 months old in november 1961 when these were made. scopes from 43' hengstlers from 40' and now caps from 61' lot's of old gear in the screen accurate bag around here! thanks ROB! (where's my pink service ribbon?)
  22. yep.. if you release the pin spring, it will swivel down. the hinge allows complete separation. if you remove that. some scopes have very tight screws beyond this step.
