Understood. Not to be a Debbie downer here but we need to be careful we're not leading others, especially new recruits to believe this is the way it's supposed to look. We've seen lights and other non-standard items added, as fun as it is we need to remain as uniform as possible. Other than that very nice job on the pack build and armor case mount .

TK-62600 requesting ANH Stunt Centurion Status [ATA] [295]
ukswrath replied to furryjawa's topic in Request Centurion Status
Hey David thank you for your Centurion application, and I have another fellow garrison member to approve, awesome! Thank you for making the requested updates mentioned in your EI application, nice work . Now let's get you approved CRL and Centurion Application Requirements: All submission photos are present. Your armor displays all the Centurion required components. Sly and myself would like to congratulate and welcome you to the Centurion level. Excellent work Other-Armor Fit/Assembly: If we had any suggestions it would be to maybe make the left kidney to ab connection straps a bit shorter so that the armor seam remains taut and aligned in that area, also maybe remove some of the return edge on the lower section of your posterior. Also, as Joseph mentioned your belt could stand to come up a smidgen, but it's not bad. Other than that you're golden. On another note I enjoyed trooping with your last weekend, fun event. It's one thing to see armor on a application page, another in person, your's was spot on. Very nice work. -

Hey Sebastian, good to hear another HWT is almost completed. As for the weathering, Dirty but not Sandtrooper dirty. Take a look at the HWT EIB and Centurion applications. There you'll get an idea of what were looking for. I weathered mine by simply using a blush brush and charcoal dust. Afterwards you can cover it with hair spray if you want to make it a bit more permanent Hope this helps. -

TFA ARMOR- Suiting Up By Yourself...Is it possible

TFA ARMOR- Suiting Up By Yourself...Is it possible
ukswrath replied to Jayben Kenobi's topic in TFA Stormtrooper
I can sit down in every type of armor I own, I'm limber and yet I still can't completely dress myself in the FOTK with rubber gaskets without looking like I just got off a wrestling mat. Some can do it some can't, that's all I'm saying. -
TFA ARMOR- Suiting Up By Yourself...Is it possible
ukswrath replied to Jayben Kenobi's topic in TFA Stormtrooper
As much as I respect Paul and his build I have to disagree with you on a simple fact. If you use the rubber gaskets and assemble the entire armor correctly (very close to canon) then it's virtually impossible to get dressed by yourself, hence the reason you see the actors and stuntmen being dressed by others. -
.... and to be clear, it appears quite obvious the troopers in the mag where photo shopped in. I'll have to see the movie again this weekend to see if there's actual scenes clearly showing TDs. It's also possible they're on the cutting room floor.
-
IMHO we're looking at two different troopers. There's a clear difference between the R1 TK and TD, both of which were equipped with backpacks, well at least some of the TKs were. The TK armor is generally not dirty (weathered), though his backpack is. The TD seen above in the magazine clearly has weathered armor. The backpacks are also different, well, at least the antennas are. Unfortunately without screen shots, behind the scene images, first hand knowledge provided by either the writers, Lucas or Disney, neither troopers received enough screen time to clearly differentiate their rolls. If we indeed have a new version TD then someone on the MEPD will probably get a thread going to start processing details.

Tk-62600 requesting ANH Stunt, EIB Status [ATA] [668]
ukswrath replied to furryjawa's topic in Request Expert Infantry Status
Hey David, welcome and Thank you for your EI application. Lets get started. CRL and EIB Application Requirements: Thank you for making some recommended corrections. All submission photos have been posted. Your armor displays all the necessary elements to qualify for Expert Infantry. It is my pleasure to add another fellow GGG member to the EI ranks. Welcome trooper! Other-Armor Fit/Assembly: In this section we review observations made by your fellow troopers and ourselves. Some observations may lead to suggestions to improve the overall look of your armor. If any suggestion affects any application, it will be listed separately in the above or below sections. I personally love the ATA, design, color, very nice to look at IMHO. To make it look even better we have a few suggestions, and requirements if you choose to shoot for the next level, mentioned in the Centurion section below. 1) Shoulder bells need to be closer to your chest and back plate. Shortening the upper bell strap will help some but removing a good majority of the lower bell return edge should get you really close. Reference photo 2) Back plate off center. This may just be a simple photo issue but we like to see this area nice and even. Reference photos 3) Another possible photo issue are keeping the chest plate down over the ab (yours is not bad at all) but mainly keeping the ab and kidney even at the top. Again, not a big issue but we want you to be aware and if there's anything you can do to even it out now's the time to do so. Reference photos 4) The lower chest return edge is really thick, too much to be exact however, not sure there's much you can do being you have screws half way through the thickness. Trimming it will weaken the area which we don't want to see you do so this is more of an advisory. Reference photo 5) The ab buttons are a little big. It will be highly suggested you reduce the size. Reference photo Centurion Suggestions: In this section we prepare you for Centurion if you choose to apply for it. If there were any areas requiring repairs it would be mentioned here. At this time we have nothing to add. Beautiful work on your armor
