  1. Looking good Mandy, keep up the good work
  2. Satin or semi gloss. Here's a screen reference
  3. Looking good all the the way to L3. My only suggestion would be to maybe trim the top cover strip a smidgen so it doesn't get caught on anything. Here's a screen used armor photo to reference For L2 & L3 the drop boxes need to be aligned with the outer most edges of the ammo belt as they appear to be in this last photo . They will also need to be positioned just below the belt, technically touching yet not quite viewing the connection strap, yours appear to be a bit low and should be brought up a bit. Regarding the drop box thickness, though not in any CRL the back of the inside box should sit flush with the edge of the outer box. My drop boxes are detachable also so it is possible to have both. Reference photo Excellent work btw.
  4. Post a pic of the full back including the butt plate
  5. Alright Brian looking good brother. Before we get started let's get some numbers out of the way first. Cover strip widths are as follows: Arms 15mm Legs (except calves) 20mm Calves 25mm Return edge, the area where you'll install the cover strip should be equally divided between sides if possible. Ex. 15mm cover strip = roughly 8mm of return edge material per forearm armor side (so long as your arms permit). Some individuals have larger arms where this will not work but for most it will. Both forearm armor sections should roughly be the same size, unless you have one arm substantially larger that would prevent this. Do a fitment test. Install the armor taped together, no cover strips. Using a fabric tape measure the outer diameter with the armor installed. What do you have?
  6. Hey John, good to see another fellow GGG member is applying for the big leagues . Thank you for your EIB application. Let's have a look shall we. CRL and EIB Application Requirements: All the required submission photos have been posted. Very nice job of blending armor types brother. I know it's no easy task but yours looks awesome. That being said, without further delay your armor displays all the necessary elements to qualify for level 2. Sly and myself would like to welcome you to Expert Infantry. Congratulations John . Other-Armor Fit/Assembly: In this section we review observations made by your fellow troopers and ourselves. Some observations may lead to suggestions to improve the overall look of your armor. If any suggestion affects any application, it will be listed separately in the above or below sections. You and I have spoken on many occasions regarding your build, all those that helped you and your ongoing drive to wear armor that you would be proud of. Well here you are, living that dream. If we had any additional suggestions to improve your overall look it would be to maybe watch the arms, your left side appears to be lower than the right, though it may just be a photo issue also. And lastly your butt plate is slightly overlapping the kidney in the corners, it should be below. Not too much to worry about, just want you to be aware of it. That's it. Centurion Suggestions: In this section we prepare you for Centurion. If there were any areas of concern they would be discussed here. There's nothing we can see at the moment that would rise any concerns which is excellent news right?. I know your dream is to wear a Centurion badge so we'll see you at L3. Congrats again.
  7. Hey Joshua, thank you for your EI application. Thank you for making the required or suggested corrections and adding or updating photos Let's take a look. CRL and EIB Application Requirements: All the required submission photos have been posted. Very nice work on your build, way to go!! . After further review we are glad to say your armor displays all the necessary elements to qualify for Expert Infantry. Welcome and congratulations trooper . Other-Armor Fit/Assembly: In this section we review observations made by your fellow troopers and ourselves. Some observations may lead to suggestions to improve the overall look of your armor. If any suggestion affects any application, it will be listed separately in the above or below sections. The only area worth talking about are the hand guards. In the CRL states there are two options, hand plates are stitched to fabric gloves, or a single strap is used to secure them to rubber gloves. Creatively you have done both well, sort of however, though there's nothing stating you can't have both, to be accurate choosing one or the other is suggested. For level two certification (if applicable): If rubber gloves are worn the hand plates are affixed via an elastic strap over the palm. If silk or satin gloves are worn, the hand plates have the correct visible stitching pattern using black cotton, with a five point/star pattern, equally spread out with 2 on each side and 1 in the middle front, and needs to be double stitched at each point. Centurion Suggestions: In this section we prepare you for Centurion. If there were any areas of concern they would be discussed here, and we have nothing to add. Excellent job on your build and we hope to see you at Centurion very soon
  8. Hey Brian welcome, Sly or myself will be with your shortly. We're assuming you're applying for ANH Stunt, just to confirm this is correct?
  9. Hi Telmo welcome and thank you for applying for EIB. Let's have a look your armor. CRL and EIB Application Requirements: All the required submission photos have been posted. Without further delay, your armor displays all the necessary elements to qualify for Expert Infantry. Sly and myself would like to welcome you to Expert Infantry. Congratulations trooper . Other-Armor Fit/Assembly: In this section we review observations made by your fellow troopers and ourselves. Some observations may lead to suggestions to improve the overall look of your armor. If any suggestion affects any application, it will be listed separately in the above or below sections. We have a few minor areas to cover, starting from the top. 1) Stunt frown paint should extend to the edge of the last tooth. Your's isn't bad but accurately it should be longer. Here's a screen used helmet for reference 2) Shoulder bell to chest and back plate gap. There should be little gap here. You might want to try removing more shoulder bell lower return edge. This should draw the bell closer to the chest and back. The top clearance is perfect Reference photo 3) Forearm to hand plate gap. Though in the movie gap space have been seen all over the map optimum is minimal gap if possible. A simple fix would be to drop your biceps and forearms almost a full inch. Also there should around a 1/2" gap between your biceps and forearms so try no to increase the gap between the two. Reference photo 4) Though your aren't bad the drop boxes should reside below the lowest edge of the ammo belt. This could be a simple photo issue but worth mentioning non the less. Reference photo 5) Crease or cut in TD control panel. This area could use a little TLC so that it matches the remainder on the panel a bit better. 5a) Clip rework. Though this area is not seen we're recommending that maybe you soften up the edges a bit so they do less damage to your armor and cloth belt during installation and removal. Reference photo 6) Calf cover strips too long. The cover strips should stop just below the upper return edge. We're recommending that you trim them down. If you choose to shoot for Centurion it will be mandatory. This shouldn't be to difficult to fix Reference photo 7) Finally, also not a huge concern but worth mentioning from an accuracy standpoint is the vertical ab button plate edge should fit inside the raised ab step. This could just be a bad photo angle, if so disregard. If not then a little bit of trimming may be in order. Reference photo Centurion Suggestions: In this section we prepare you for Centurion. If there were any areas of concern they would be discussed here. As Joseph mentioned tears and traps are to be hand painted or like-hand painted decals, as well as one of the ear rank bumps. This is a requirement: For level three certification (if applicable): Ear bars shall have only one bump painted in black (rank stripes). Tears/traps shall be hand painted or use decals that emulate hand painted (with correct ANH TK details). Reference photos And lastly, you'll need to remove the return edge on your forearms near your wrist. The CRL states: For level three certification (if applicable): No return edge on the inside of the front of the forearm is allowed. Reference photo That's it. Fantastic job on your build Telmo , hope to see you at Centurion.
  10. Before you go cutting, how tall are you?
  11. One final request, please post interior photos of a thigh, shin and forearm. This will not effect your EIB application. Thank you
  12. E6000 - I used a butter knife, hot or cold armor. Set it on the floor (carpet or towel), start at the top and with two hands slide it down separating the strip. CA - Same technique except you might need a small hammer to gently tap and cut through the glue.
  13. Dude you look like a Transformer. Doing great though I'd work on one area at a time as not to get too overwhelmed.
  14. Looking good Mike. Round file or sanding block works really nice for smoothing the return edges to help prevent them from snagging on your under suit.
  15. Alright Robert, welcome, again . Thank you for your EIB application. Thank you for posting all the required photos. Let's have a look. We have a couple minor areas we'd like to talk starting with the waist belt. The upper edge of the ammo belt should reside half way through or slightly below the lowest ab button. A minor belt adjustment, raising it up a bit should do the trick. Reference photo While on the topic of raising things up the waist belt in the rear appears to be sitting a bit low also. Should be a little higher. Tightening the belt may resolve the above concern also. Reference photo Finally, also not a huge concern but worth mentioning from an accuracy standpoint is the vertical ab button plate edge should fit inside the raised ab step. This could just be a bad photo angle, if so disregard. If not then a little bit of trimming may be in order. Reference photo Centurion Suggestions: In this section we prepare you for Centurion. If there were any areas of concern they would be discussed here. There's nothing we can see at the moment that would raise any concerns, which is excellent news. Hope to see you at Centurion, which I'm sure we will
  16. Awesome!
  17. Good point, though we can see a muzzle which the promos don't have. We can also see what appears to be a "D" ring, it's just not very clear.
  18. OOH! I'm definitely gonna have to throw some stats out now. I want
  19. We generally encourage builders to maintain canon size correct cover strip widths on the front of the armor being that's what is recognized by fans most of the time. 15mm for the arms, 20mm for the legs (except for the calves 25mm). Uniformity is key however, as Paul mentioned this doesn't work for everyone, but it is the goal to shoot for. That being said, if you could pull of maybe 20mm at the front of the arms (in all areas) and varied sizes on the back you should be fine.
