  1. Boring update, but I'm gluing things! Basic construction of forearms, biceps, thighs, shins and shoulders are done. Starting to work out the back/yoke situation, kind of a tricky piece. Looking maybe a little too far ahead to painting, but I'm considering getting it done professionally. Any idea what I can expect that to cost vs doing it myself?
  2. Rough trimming done.. Using the belt sander as recommended by ukswrath, super handy for parts like this Starting to glue some things, starting with arms first.. going slowly:
  3. Nice, thanks for the info! I'm almost done with rough trimming all the parts, but I'm going to pick up some of those cutting wheels for sure.
  4. What bit do you use when using your dremel to trim? I did try my dremel at first, but the plastic cutting wheel I was using made the plastic get kinda melty. All it took was one little glob to fly off burn my leg to make me stop and go back to scoring and snapping!
  5. Trimming all the things, so far I've rough trimmed most of the legs and arms. Not much to report except for sore fingers! I have a question about the chest "wings". When I was reading the threads about increased accuracy, it wasn't obvious to me that the chest piece already had lines for this area at all. Is the mod people are doing just to increase the visibility of the lines by cutting them out? Mine's got the lines, so just wondering if this is updated or if they've always been like this?
  6. Received my armor, gaskets and soft parts. The fun begins this weekend!
  7. I used a Polaroid cube mounted to my E11 last troop, it just records video. Pretty happy with the quality of the video/images and it was small enough to not be noticed on my blaster
  8. Love all the extra details you're putting in, following!
  9. Pretty sure that's a screen capture from the behind the scenes TFA video that was released at SDCC?
  10. I would definitely recommend building with EIB or Centurion in mind, it's not much more work. What I found helpful when deciding between ATA and AP (I went with AP) was looking through the EIB/Centurion application posts to see what the armor looked like on people closer to my size. I'm 6' and 155-160 and AP fits me very well, but much bigger than that size and you'd probably have to use shims on the sides of the ab/kidney area. I have both an ATA and an AP bucket, I prefer the AP. Either one is fine and has plenty of room for fans and all that. The AP bucket does come with the less accurate aerators as you mentioned, but you can buy a set of accurate ones easily enough. You also need the more accurate S-trim. AP can definitely be assembled with the butt join method, the kit comes with the extra strips of plastic you need for that. You seem like you've done your homework, which is great. Take your time and go for at least EIB from the beginning and you'll be just fine! I would recommend AP for your body size, but ATA is also excellent so you can't go wrong with either option.
  11. Awesome, I can't wait for this one!
  12. Ben Rigas 65535 Centurion letter Thanks!
  13. Awesome, thank you! I'll update the post with the missing photo tonight when I get home.
  14. Thanks guys! Appreciate the observations Vern, I'm always learning new things here! The brackets on the kidney hurt to do, there wasn't enough on the upper return to make me feel comfortable and I had seen pics of originals with them mounted lower so I just went with that.
