    FISD Memes

You guys are relentless lol, I hope some of these start making their way onto our FB group this year, would be a shame not to share them out in the wider community for sure.
  2. You are most welcome.
  3. I got you Terry, basically Admin need to delete the images that you shared directly. Due to the sheer volume of members we have and the fact we share the legion sever, unfortunately we have limits on storage space direct to the server. This is why we recommend 3rd party hosting such as IMGUR. I will now delete what you have in your space allocation. this means any images you direct posted will vanish.
  4. Welcome aboard Robert, there isn't a question we can't answer so please ask as many as you need. I also have an AP armour at Centurion level all be it from an older version of the CRL. It doesn't take too much work to get your kit up to spec so it is great to read that you are aiming high.
  5. Congratulations on your TK approval Chris, thought I would do the honors of updating you mate. Well done! We now have an Aussie made TK approved You now show as 501st Stormtrooper.
  6. Welcome to FISD Bob!
  7. I wear contact lenses, they are cheap, don't fog and I don't notice them after a couple of minutes.
  8. Wow dude, what an epic find and story to go with it. This is fantastic.
  9. Yeah, it's kind of an obsession that some just cant get enough of. Ive been here for 8 years and still manage to learn things more frequently than you would believe. This community was welcoming and gave me so much that I have always felt compelled to be here every day and give back as much as possible. Never thought I would be elected as the detachment leader, and I don't take that for granted. It's a wonderful opportunity to grow this lovely hobby, help others along the way and make these forums the best they can be and inviting for everyone. I am glad that you feel the need to frequent these boards, it means we have something to offer, or at least something you like enough to want to learn more. Troopers helping troopers is indeed our unofficial motto, but one that many members live by. Look forward to your BBB day and future posts and build thread Terry.
  10. Dear memebrs As the Holiday season is now well and truly upon us, I'd like to take this opportunity to thank everyone for a tremendous year here on FISD. If not for the high level of member engagement, our job as care takers of the forums would have been a lot harder. What I love most about these forums is the will for so many to help others. Be it a simple supportive post in another members build thread, or the generosity we see from day to day in members just wanting to give back and pay it forward. To be honest, I couldn't be prouder of you all. I'd also like to thank our staff, who without, this place wouldn't run as smoothly. Much of what we do is behind the scenes, be it maintenance, building new sections of the forums, keeping the spam out of our posts and pages, the monthly newsletter, brain storming for merch and anything more we can do for all, the list goes on. Thank you team. How ever you celebrate this time of year, please be safe, spend time with loved ones, or enjoy a break if you are lucky enough to be able to. Thank you from all the team here at FISD Much love Andrew Franke TK11469 Sly11 With unquestioned loyalty.
  11. Looking good Shiri, keep up the great progress.
  12. Could have been a re-shoot or specific stunt armour, either way it seems to be an anomaly.
  13. Wow this is fantastic news Hugo, congratulations sir.
  14. Welcome aboard Marc!
  15. Very nice Adam, hoping you will post a a little video once you install the BlastFX kit.
  16. Building to as CRL should be easy, if it states something is green, I'd paint it green, if something shows an item is at a right angel then I would make it so, following the word and images of a CRL, descriptions an images help keep them as easy as possible, this is why we follow the most common and norm and in some cases a stylized look to a costume. Common or the norm keeps things easier not just for a member, but also for GML's and those that approve the higher levels. These are the reasons why some things don't make a CRL. If a member builds something and doesn't follow a CRL then that is the members choice with every possibility of a knock back, on any given CRL in the Legion. Not to forget, Expert Infantry and Centurion are purely optional, there is no mandate for anyone to build past basic in any Detachment. No weapons required at basic, which means the member can present a weapon if they wish as long as it is movies specific or represented by that charterer carrying that weapon. Once a CRL is updated, the prior version is grandfathered. this means a new builder must use the current version, again there is no mandate for an existing member already approved at higher levels to re submit for approval. That is another personal choice. You only ever earn these awards once, they go to the member for reaching a higher standard and stay with the member for life. I'll bring this back to movie specific differentiation. This we need to even consider a new CRL, or an addition of another film to an existing one as we have just completed for TLJ by adding TroS As the armour is shared and identical we are limited to other variations to differentiate the two, but we have managed to find some specifically in the weapons carry. This is why we will continue to focus on the most seen as becoming the norm. It all comes back to what we see on the big screen, not what is behind the scenes nor any fantastic insight we do sometimes get from actors and the actual prop builders for the films. The behind the scenes info helps us reinforce what we have seen or sometimes give us a better explanation, but it doesn't steer us away from what is available to all on screen. In my honest opinion it isn't worth convoluting a CRL with a raft of variations making it more difficult and potentially creating confusion and the possibility of more errors with combinations that aren't seen at all in the movies. Keeping it simple isn't making it more difficult, it is making it easier for anyone building to a CRL. One thing we have all learnt over the years is there are 100's of opinions on any given subject when it comes to Star Wars, what detachments have to do is wade through all those opinions and come up with a happy medium that suits a majority. That is no easy task, never has been, never will be.
  17. I'm happy to steer clear of the small variations or lets call them anomalies, like as you mentioned, Mr No stripes. Clear differentiating points between each film that are represented frequently are our best bet for the norm. We have one such point with the pic rail to separate TFA to TLJ, so the rear sight, no groove and cocking lever gives us a few more. I think that's pretty solid. Personally, I'd leave the anomalies from TFA out of it for the same simplicity sake as we do with armour.
  18. BOOM!!!, next step, Build thread
  19. So I am clear, the TLJ had the white rear D ring and the TroS had the Black? I think this will get very confusing as currently the only difference we are stating for TRoS is the Electro Prod. This means we need two complete references for the F11-D with different rear sights and different D rings so effectively an addition to the CRL and clearly stating F11-D TLJ and F11-D TroS. The rear sight is a solid difference between the two. Would also need photos for a fleshed out gallery because the small front end photos make that a hard sell. Considering its only our higher levels, I am less inclined to create confusion as I'd wager members will carry whichever they choose, because those details are so small. There are also variations that appeared across both films of what you mentioned above and we need to steer clear of those and focus on the most common. Things like the Pic rail which is a major stand out difference, was a good addition that separated us one step from the TFA version Armour parts to me are more relevant which we have closed off on but in saying all this, I think we can probably create a separate post down the track after the Holiday period.
  20. Great news Gerald, looking forward to your BBB photos.
  21. And here we go with a helmet this time. Check the second image below for my favorite bit lol (Highlighter Yellow)
  22. It is missing on what they supplied Ardeshir, that is the new DN, but yes looks like they are supplying the image they had to all that are reviewing. They had it correct originally, one can only assume it is an oversight from the manufacturer/detailer. Wrong is wrong, as are many armourers out there, with various components, but at least this one is a very simple fix
  23. Interesting because the DN image I looked at last night actually has that extra black piece, so not all their literature is the same.
