  1. [emoji514][emoji514][emoji514][emoji514][emoji514] cookies for you
  2. That's pretty much what I used on mine, the finish is subtle and not too overdone
  3. Oops, sorry wrong thread please disregard my statement
  4. If anything, maybe your rank stripe could be a fraction thinner, your helmet is looking awesome, keep up the good work.
  5. Hi Scotty The crayon thing is easier than you think. Once you have painted your scope, and it has dried sufficiently, simply get your crayon and rub it over the lettering, don't be afraid to use some pressure as you want it right into the groves. Next you can take clean rag and start whipping the excess off, wiping to the end of the scope. You can also use a sharp craft knife to lightly scrape off excess crayon. For even more realism, and that warn used look, take your knife tip and dig a little of the crayon out carefully so some of the letters are not quite complete. Trust me, it's not hard, just take your time, and you will nail it. Good luck with your build
  6. Research, research, research, that's the way it rolls. But you can find everything you need right here in the forums
  7. Awesome, thanks all. The glue stuck to the glove no problems, but it wouldn't stick to the rubber hand guard. I only tried on one, but did clean everything with soapy water first.
  8. Hi all What glue is best to use for gluing rubber hand guards onto rubber gloves. I have tried CA glue and it did not work. Thank you in advance for any input Andrew
  9. Looking good TT8
  10. Wow, Elephant man TK
  11. Remember to keep everything looking proportionate and measure twice, cut once. Your helmet is looking real good by the way, great work
  12. Super glue and CA are one in the same. The gel version gives you a bit more time to work on before it goes hard.
  13. Awesome, I am excited for you. I received shipping notice on my AP kit yesterday, so won't be too far behind you with my build. Good luck, and have fun
  14. I agree with what Tim has said above. I find buying bits and pieces as you go, keeps the suspense high, and there are always items turning up in the mail. It's what has helped me get through the anxious period, waiting for my armour to be delivered. Have fun[emoji3]
  15. G'day Wendy, welcome aboard. You are in good hands here, plenty of support when you need it and as everyone has stated, ask lots of questions.
  16. It still more fun to build your own Blaster, but if your time is limited........
  17. Painting the inside of your bucket is a personal thing. One thing the guys in my garrison say, is that it stops light from shining through the thinner parts of the helmet, making it darker inside, hence it is harder to see up inside from a child's stand point looking up. Cover strips on arms 15mm on legs 20mm at front. You can go wider at back of legs if necessary, due to your actual thigh size. It seems many have 25mm at the rear.
  18. With your AP armour there are a few things you will need to get to make it more accurate, and for higher level approval. Replace the mice tips, ( see CFO, sskunky here in FISD)some darker lens material, and S trim for the bottom of the helmet (Trooperbay) and inner drop boxes (KWDesigns) also on FISD. Keep researching as you will find everything you need here.
  19. I found pan head screws in a marine supplies shop, they also had stainless steel industrial snaps for marine use on boats. I don't recall seeing a head diameter reference so I scaled the images and work on a size of 5 mm. See if anyone else chimes in with more accurate info.
  20. There is a novel in the making here, Tim that's an awesome backstory, is there more to come.
  21. Oohhh, nice looking forward to this build
  22. Good luck with your submission, look good [emoji106]
  23. Go onto the projects and ongoing orders section of FISD, you will find your binders there, among, many other things you will need for your build. Have you decided if you are building to EIB or even Centurion level, or just for basic 501st approval?
