Sounds absolutely hideous as an idea. WORSE than the Holiday Special. But I'd still troop it though!

I use webbing everywhere except the shoulder bells and thigh suspenders. Using webbing to hold the abs and back on, gives me a solid strap to clip my bells onto, leaving the chest and back to sit freely on my shoulders without being pulled at all by anything. I think everyone does it differently though - there's no right and wrong way as such..

Some answers: 1. Where can I get the Humbrol #5 &15 paints in the US? - I'm sure the Humbrol UK site will ship em to you, or ask me and I'll obtain em for ya. 2. What quality are the decals that come with the AP armor, specifically the tube stripes as I'm thinking about painting the rest. - Decals are fine, I dont remember getting tube stripes withthe kit though - i ordered mine separately. ButI never used the grey ones at all - painted all the details (except tube stripes) by hand. 3. Do I need to upgrade the forehead/neck trim that comes with the AP kit and if so what would yall recommend? - Its good stiff, but I replaced my neck trim with 'S' profile stuff that was a little more screen accurate. 4. Does the AP kit come with enough extra ABS to make both the front and back trim for the arms/legs to be more ANH accurate? - yes, lots of spare stuff. you should be fine. The strips i used are about 20mm on the thighs, 15mm on the shins. Didn't do strips on the arms or biceps. Cheers Tel

I painted my black line a little forward towards the front so i could identify myself in group photos!

Just a quick tip - don't dso what i did and cut it exactly to length..... Cut it about 10mmm toolong and fir it all the way round, then you can squeeze the extra 10mm in for a tight fit that'll never pop out. I had to glue mine in cos it was too short.

I was offered them but as i already bought them in advance, I declined. But the holster seemed to be leather and looked good. Claimed to be based on original ANH pattern.

I picked AP as I'm 5'8". If funds are limited, you could get FX lite and an MR lid.

Yep, tis the season - just got over MY christmas cold....Memorabilia was my first big troop and I had to unplug my voice kit to cough, sneexe and sniff inside my lid. nice. Also it looked weird.

Buttplate cut is on my thread build. Simply cut across, and use 3 or 4 pieces of black elastic to reattach it - Iused Araldire epoxy, but cyanoacrylate will work too.

What I did , is use white 3" wide elastic (comes as a belt in an AP kit) , cut it into 4 pieces about 6" long and stick 2 pieces either side. That gives me a kind of stretchy side panels thing. That, or a plastic shim about 2 - 3" each side will do it. Use a piece of scrap ABS. See my build thread for pics.

I use a large ABS suitcase with roller wheels and handle - it holds everything, Helmet included. ------------ I know i'm in the UK but this is just so you can see what I have.
