  1. I had the same pinching problem. Fixed it by adjusting the rotation of the thighs outwards a bit, until they don't hit the cod, also I trimmed the inner thigh tops down about half an inch. Shortening the cod might work too, and a strip of sponge/foam padding around the pinched area in the thighs would help to push your inner legs away from the pinchy area.
  2. Try Vena Cava Design - I think the plascit colar things are in their Vario Piercing tools set: ---------
  3. Dynamat? Cool, will check it out. Cheers Smitty
  4. I'm amending my TK suit after my first troop: getting it ready for a longer, more arduous troop in Memorabilia on th e22nd. Ordered Bucketworks fan kit and cut 1/2" off the top of my thighs - it doesn't seem like a lot, but I can bend my knees without cutting into my legs now! Going to make new shoulder elastics (with BLACK snaps instead of silver) that pull my shoulder bells tighter in. Then trim more off my neckseal 'flap', so it doesn't poke out the sides. Anyone know a good way of reducing feedback from mic to chest-mounted speaker?
  5. No, sorry, I'm talking bout the little round black plastic 'collars' that sit in the plier jaws, that you put the pressing/cutting tools into, y'know? Anyway, I *think* I might have tracked a pair down! erk! Gotta make adjustments to my suit before Memorabilia!!!
  6. I got pliers - but the plastic pieces thet hold the tools have both broken! where can I get them?!?!?
  7. Cheers Stuka, your help has been one of the reasons it all came together so quickly for me. Respeck!
  8. I came across this UK site that suplies the Vario Pliers and everything you need for strapping your kit together. Tony Barnett (TK300) of the UKG has got there first, and as such, they offer a Stormtrooper Kit for sale: --------- Hope this helps - as finding these things in the UK is sometimes tricky. It took me yonks to get some vario pliers!
  9. I wish I'd done this in my mid-20's. But then I didn't have tha cash, and I was raising my first daughter! I'm 39 in December, and having the time of my life while I still can! And for anyone under 30 out there ....I'll let you into a secret: Being 30, 35, 38.....It doesn't feel ANY different to your teens! Really - the only change is that you know more stuff!
  10. A month to go? Dude, its only 4 weeks! You can order extra gloves, undersuit, amp, fans etc, in the meantime, and they'll all take longer to arrive than a month!
  11. Hi, good luck with your build - I met a veteran trooper wearing an RT Mod last week - looked REALLY good. Here's a link fo rthe momex -type flight gloves! -----------
  12. Mine is pretty much the same - luckily, my first choice was free: 2/1/35 - 2nd Jan 1935 - my mother's date of birth. She passed away 70 years later in 2005, due to smoking-related illnesses.
  13. Wow. It's an honour to join the ranks! And I'll bet you didn't know that I ACTUALLY enjoy washing the dishes at home? It's a much more embarrassing thing to admit to than wearing plastic armour! But the chicks dig it! My first (UKG induction) troop is today at 17:00 hours - at a CASTLE, no less! wooooooo!
  14. Ok, I can't be mega accurate, as the end caps are permanently glued on but the dimensions of the tube are: 195mm long X 60mm Diameter Hope that helps? Terry

  18. here are the nomex style ones: mine arrived in 6 days from australia, and they're perfect - identical to the nomex $24 ones. http://cgi.ebay.com/USMC-Marine-Military-A...%3A1|240%3A1318
  19. Hi! er...what exactly IS 501st access? And am i enabled? http://www.501stlegion.org/members/display...php?userID=9891 Terry TK-2135
  20. Hi, The strips kind of come with the kit - you get two large-ish pieces of flat ABS plastic which you have to mark out and cut. But its not too tricky, and theres plenty left over for snap tabs etc.
  21. Perhaps check out a seller on ebay called " airsofteagle " - they do nomex lookalike gloves - and they're cheap! I have some and they're fine. Terry
  22. I have the Triktoys, and its great.. I'd never pay a fortune for a ROm FX. They do sound good but at the end of the day, I need a voice amplifier and little else.
  23. Hello everyone! I got my TK ID number tonight from the 501st. I'm TK-2135 the number holds great significance - its 2/1/35 - the date of birth of my mum who died in 2005. I vowed to do some good in her name. NowI can. Hopefully I'll be able to make the induction troop at Legoland UK on 2nd Nov. or failing that the Memorabilia in Birmingham UK on the 22nd. Maybe see some of youse guys and gals soon! Terry
  24. take a small square of t-shirt material and soak it with super glue. Then just spread it over the back of the cracked area. In about 5 minutes it will be rock solid. It takes minutes and is really easy to do. I used it - see my AP build - and Great results - but don't use a drill on it - use a pointy scalpel blade or exacto knife.
