  1. I bought the same neckseal from them: its vinyl/ pleather. Very nice looking seal, but weeks of no communication - when I emailed them to ask if it was in transit, I got a curt, almost offensive response. I won't try them again, even though the item was good quality, I prefer honesty and courtesy.
  2. You realise the black Thermal Detonator Pipe can be painted with grey primer or even humbrol grey to make it accurate?
  3. Really GREAT stuff - nice new designs that looklike they fit into the trooper canon well. I hope these guys really pull theis movie off. Best of luck fellas! And If you need CGI sequences and have a modest budget, check my studio out - www.strangetown.tv
  4. I went to Tunisia for 8 days in 2003 for the 'Trip To Tatooine' locations tour. It was organised by Mark Dermul, a belgian with lots of experience and knowledge, a friend of Steve Sansweet and other LFL alumni. He's organised numerous trips in the past, to Finse (Hoth) and at least 4 trips to Tunisia - taking in EVERY SINGLE location, from the Lars Farm igloo, to the Cantina and Mos Espa set, which is currently being slowly digested by a colossal dune. In a very short time it'll be lost forever. Anyway, the thing is - there are about 15 places left. A lot of americans and europeans will be coming, I'd like to make up the UK contingent. And I'd like a fellow UK guy or gal to travel with. Full details here: www.markdermul.be/tatooine It's reasonably cheap, not luxury accomodation, so don't expect the hilton! but if you're a SW nut you'll be buzzing. Jeeps, rocks, deserts, camels, motor scooters and millions of photos and SW geekery. Anyone wanna join me? Tel
  5. Despite the hilarity and wrongness of it all, I have to say Ireally liked the design and animatronics of Itchy's face. His lower jaw and moving forehead are far better than Chewies was, and he seems to have a lot more expression. I'm sure good ole Ralph McQ and Stuart Freeborn were behind this.
  6. Good news bout the TK boots. But why are their Jack Sparrow boots so outrageoudly expensive??? Anyone else doing accepted (clearable) JS boots? (sorry if it's off-topic)
  7. Hey Paul, do you think you could knock out an inexpensive mini-trooper lid out of this stuff? If so, any ideas on cost?
  8. Seeing my daughters on Sat, then home to do some more work on my new book...chapter 4 now! Sunday, I may get some coldies in - it's a mini heatwave here in the UK. Monday- meeting with hi-profile movie exec (shh!) about a possible movie I'm writing ; )
  9. That's impressive. A true innovation. Can't wait to read the troops reports as soon as they start coming in. Amazing work Paul. You ARE de man!
  10. Cheers guys, and thanks for sorting out the change of status Paul, I've already informed theUKG and 501st of my retired TK status. One day I'll clam up again, I'm sure of it. In other news... I've begun work on another major project..... (see sig image)....watch this hyperspace! Tel
  11. Hi guys and gals, As you know I no longer have my TK armour, but james007bond is the proud new owner, so hopefully it will live on. I'm going to aim for a TB status by the end of the year if my finances settle themselves out. So I've logged into the forums at bikerscout.net. Hopefully there will be a warm welcome as it is here, and maybe even a few of you guys will be there too. I don't know if I am technically allowed to post here in future, as my TK is retired, bu tif so, I'll pop in semi regularly to help and advise where possible. Best of luck and thanks for being the finest and most friendly forum I've EVER encountered on the net. Terry (TK-2135)
  12. Nice find! I think the purists among us will steer clear from it, but I can see it as a comlink head, or aerators for concept lids. What sizes are there things?
  13. The back plate bump can be taken out. As for spraying, the only way to ensure perfect coverage is to spray in the lightest of coats, first up and down, then side to side. let each coat dry and be TOTALLY patient. GO have a cup of tea in between coats! Don't be tempted to go back and touch up while its drying! I found this out, its the only way to get a nice finish.
  14. Looks so nice! You can hardly tell its an MR! Good work!
  15. Hi John, I'll see you at Ty Hafan in a couple of weeks anyway, I'm spotting. And yes, to quote Homer Simpson, " I could sell my liver...I don't need both of them!"
  16. Ok, its getting there... you might want to move the cap lower so there's less white above the eyes., also two more very small holes each side of the frown. Check out www.starwarshelmets.com or anyone's FX build here on FISD for reference pics and compare for accuracy. Good luck!
  17. I'm starting a Jack Sparrow and looking at maybe a Tusken or Biker later on in the year, so I might not be gone too long! Also I'm spotting at events, wherever possible. Cheers man.
  18. Likewise Chris. I wont be a stranger. Will at least try to sign up for Helper/spotter duties if possible.
  19. the SDS is still a rather nice looking helmet, preferable to some other choices, so don't feel bad. Your AP will look awesome too. But keep the SDS as long as you can - you never know when you might decide to go sandy with it or something. And despite AA's problems, he is still undoubtedly the man who made the original ANH costumes, whichis something.
  20. I may be around - London is a 3 hr journey for me, bu tI have friends there in my hometown, so keep me posted, ok? And thanks for the kind words mate. You too, Synaptyx.
  21. It's a great site and a great community, that's for sure. I would like to see a pinned thread that would explain all the different armour options for people who need to acquire a kit for the first time, or even upgrade thir existing kit. For example, a blow-by blow description of the differences between FX and RT-MOD, or the asymmetrical parts of the AP as opposed to the lovely sculpting work of the TM? It needent be saying which is best - everyone has their faves, I'm sure, but a 'dummies guide' (no offence intended) to armour would be a great help. Same for E-11's, BFG's pistols etc.
  22. Cheers everyone, Its heartening to know there's a good bunch of guys (and gal) here if and when I can come back to the fold. Very little support over at the ukg though - the forums are so huge that theres no real sense of family like there is here. Anyway, I'll keep popping in anyway and keep everyone updated regardless. Cheers!
  23. Anthony, Heatshock, Damian and Ryan, thanks for the good wishes. I would never totally divorce myself from my love of Star Wars, and should I be in a better position, I'll come back with hopefully a spectacular return. Cheers y'all.
