  1. It's easy! Just walk 5 or so miles in armor. After that - everyone figures out how to sit down Seriously - it really depends on how much armor you want to cut away & how easy you want it to be to sit down - e.g. the easier you want it to be, the more plastic you need to cut away. The downside - a lot more back showing in the back.
  2. Three polls concluded today, and the results are as follows: 1. Deployment Standards - base standards (applicable to all versions) Location: http://www.whitearmor.net/requirements/ Vote: Passed. 16 in favor. 0 opposed. 2. Deployment Standards - ANH version Location: http://www.whitearmor.net/requirements/ Vote: Passed. 16 in favor. 1 opposed. Note on the above: two more contentious items were left off the proposed standards: 1) "No gap" rule between ab & back plates (as seen in ANH & ESB) 2) "No FX helmet" rule If there is sufficient interest, these are addenda that can be nominated, seconded, and voted on at a later time. 3. Deployment Name The new name will be "Mark X", where X is the roman numeral version of the movie. The votes were as followed: A) (Movie Tag) Veteran : 4 votes (Movie Tag) Cohort: 1 vote C) Cohort (no movie tag) : 1 vote D) Mark X : 11 votes E) Survivor: 0 votes In total out of 73 detachment members, 17 votes were cast, or approximately 22.4%. Next steps: If you feel you meet all the requirements for deployment, you may submit pictures and a request to the Mark section of the forums at http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/index.php?showforum=19. Once approved, you'll be added to the roster of Mark stormtroopers.
  3. Got it now - fair enough. It's certainly possible - the TD packs are supposed to have been destroyed after filming, and the Tunisia scenes were filmed first. Even if not cannibalized, considering how many surplus items (tupperware containers, metamucil bottles, oil filters, etc.) went into the TD packs, it's not a stretch to figure the space packs were made the same way.
  4. Which parts are you referring to? Your eyes are keener than mine - when I blow the photos up I'm not seeing any commonality.
  5. Thanks for the quote Ed. Here are some grabs: Behind the Scenes -------------- As far as I know, this is all that's there. If you do decide to take this on, be sure to keep us informed. This would be the coolest TK accessory ever.
  6. Which poll are you referring to? The three polls that are up now are detachment members only, e.g. 501st TK only. That's pretty much the standard these days 501st-wide (detachment member = 501st + has that particular costume), though some like MEPD don't distinguish between 501st. I'm pretty open to having these polls thrown Legion-wide, but as it's a SOP change would require a vote by the detachment membership.
  7. Especially considering that MEPD was the template for FISD. While there are some specific costume differences, in the end it's the same white armor underneath.
  8. Ian - you're already set. Hey - did you ever live in Washington state? I used to know an Ian Wilkinson who did... Tracy - you're set! Brian - you're already correctly listed as a 501st member.
  9. PM sent.
  10. It's definitely a lot more work - and I put in some hours of my own. However the end result is stunning, to say the least. Wyatt's skills are *amazing* - many parts were formed with a heat gun to improve their look. It's damn near perfect.
  11. The TD (FX with AP bucket). My TK is 100% TE2, which is almost ready for it's debut.
  12. Some pix - here is my ab plate (FX) Looking at the right side (chest & back) Upper Back plate To size the straps, I make them extra long and shorten with a safety pin. Each troop I adjust it a bit, and when it's the perfect length I either leave it alone or create a new strap of that length.
  13. Moved the build thread to here: http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/index.php?showtopic=673
  14. All set Francois-Xavier. All: any future requests must include a link to your 501st account per the first post in this thread: http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/index.php?showtopic=16 Any request w/o this link will be ignored.
  15. I don't have a problem with it on this forum, but I do on CTN and it's the same forum software. V'Pier - thoughts?
  16. We did a test fitting last weekend. Most everything is good, just tweaks left. I asked Wyatt to see what he can do with snaps. My efforts at making them with styrene failed as the spare material I had was too soft to take the snap. I'm pretty confidant it will see action my next troop. The big hold-up is just getting time - the final adjustments take two people (e.g. myself to hold the part, him to measure) - and my free time on weekends has been pretty slim.
  17. Actually an E-11 is not required for Legion acceptance. Funny that...
  18. Don't know about forcepike, but MEPD is open to everyone. I'd contact the site admins if you can't see the boards.
  19. So good, it's now pinned as a HOWTO. Great job
  20. Get 'em while they're young! My wife *hates* this hobby - my only hope is to ensure my kids are appropriately brainwashed to follow in their father's footsteps. It is their destiny! :vader1:
  21. Here is the only shot I have that I can easily find:
